Owner was nice. My take out food was so salty I couldn't eat it and had to throw it away.

Place was very hot but we decided to eat in, ordered Lamb Byriani, the Byriani looked like spanish rice with lamb. It came with one thing of yoghurt and we asked for one more to digest the food but was told it was $1.50 extra, we ordered food for one person and paid $22, cant imagine if we both had ordered. I told the owner the byriani was hard to digest and the yoghurt was extra, he ignored me and demanded my debit card to pay. I lived in middle east for years and know a good indian restaurant. This is not it! Go to Curry House instead thats priced better and more aunthentic indian food. read more

Order the beef kofta, chicken tikka masala and the palak paneer. Go home and go into a food coma. It's worth every penny and every bite! The service is friendly but takes a while as they prepare the food to perfection. This is not an in and out type of restaurant. Plan to stay a while. read more

Chicken Biryani is overpriced and mediocre in taste. $13-$14 for a small bowl. Seriously? Lol... for that amount I could go to Himalaya and have one of the best biryanis in town with bigger portion! Butter chicken was mediocre in taste and portion too. Naan and samosas were ok though. Never going back. *** Responding to your reply*** We didn't order using door dash. We sat down at your restaurant, sir. You're fortunate you opened up in Humble. I get that you have to cater to your customers' palate, but if this was in Houston or Sugarland, you can kiss your mom n pop shop goodbye. read more

This is some of the best food available in the Humble/Atascocita area. Always consistent taste and Russell always takes the spice up to the next level! Love the food, great local restaurant with passion and attention to detail from the Owner/Operator. Keep up the great work! read more

I used to go here often. The wait was always very long but I kept hoping it would get better. The food is good but even at the new location the wait is even worse. I watched a GrubHub driver have to leave without an order once because he had other pickups and couldn't keep waiting. Not only is the wait time double what they tell you it will be, they don't take ownership or make improvements or amends but instead try to turn it around and blame the customers. Very poorly managed. Where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him? read more

Wonderful! Food was delicious, prices were reasonable, and Russell was very responsive and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

The response of the owner speaks volumes. He seems unable to accept a customer's true opinion. He seems to actually suggest that I am somehow un American simply because I expected more rice than what was provided without paying $6. To say that we cleaned our plates, knowing that we wouldn't have asked for more rice to go if we had, is very sad. Also, to go so far as to discredit a competitor, simply because your establishment received a bad review is even more pathetically sad. I dine out frequently, and I only complete reviews when they're warranted whether good or bad. My spouse indicated that I should would have given zero stars based on our visit, so be grateful that I chose to give you at least the 1 star for the young lady who provided great service. I noticed coincidentally, that you didn't dispute that positive comment as you did all of my other truthful comments. read more

Not Indian food. Terrible service and food. Not recommended Chicken Vindaloo bad. Anyone who rate this place higher than 1 star has not had real Indian food read more

Ignorant owner. Calls Americans idiots and obese if you critique his food/service rather than just saying thank you and I'm sorry. LITERALLY check the GOOGLE REVIEWS. Updated- how does someone saying they don't enjoy your food make them an a**hole?! Please gain customer service skills. It's not about Indian food not being everybody, it's the customer service. Then keep pointing out Heath and obesity oh my gosh you don't even know How I look or if I'm not healthy. If your serving sizes aren't worth it to someone you can't say "well this Person couldn't finish it" okaaay and it's still not worth it to ME. I am one customer, not that one over there, not the lady from yesterday nor the man from 2 weeks ago. I am me and if my experience sucked then why are you taking about other peoples experience? That's idiotic. read more

The place was dirty. Tables were nasty. No one greeted you. Had to call the cook to try to place an order. Menu was terrible, the prices were marked over, totally unprofessional. Looking into the kitchen it was filthy, stove area looked like it has not been cleaned in a long time and same for the utensils. The owner or manager shows up and all he was concerned about was collecting money. I will not go back, a very bad experience. By the way the food at best was maybe okay or fair all else was disgusting. read more

We came in to eat on a early Tuesday night at about 6:30. We were the only people in the place. We ordered shrimp pakora (the special), lamb korma, and butter chicken. A few more families showed up after the evening rush hour on FM 1960. The decor is a little rough and industrial, and has a feeling of being an old Pizza place repainted oranges and browns. Service was good, neither fast nor slow. Eventually the food arrived. The meats were all cooked the perfect amount of time. Tender shrimp, lamb and chicken. However they lacked any semblance of Indian spices and had no integration with the sauces or batter. The batter for the shrimp was like that of an onion ring. Plain. No flavor. No crunch or spice that pakora usually has. There was a coating of seasoned salt at the bottom of the dish, and some accompanying tamerind sauce that added a little flavor. The main dishes' meats do not appear to have been cooked in the sauces. The meat lacked any infused flavor or spice. The butter chicken sauce was neither buttery or creamy. It was slightly tomatoey, more akin to a thickened tikka masala. The korma sauce was very yellow (lamb usually darkens korma to a light mustard brown or tan). Both sauces were over cooked and over salted. The korma sauce was slightly curdled. While the sauces were spicy hot, they were not flavorfully spiced. There was no visible garlic, onion, curry leaf, coriander, clove, haldi, chili, etc. They were as thick as porridge. They did not have any oils from the meat, and lacked any meat flavor. I also expected coconut milk in both sauces, but they both lacked any coconut flavor. Since I used to cook both northern and southern Indian dishes with my mother-in-law, this was very disappointing. To me, it could only pass as Indian food, if you are not familiar with what it's supposed to be. read more

This restaurant has delicious food. I mean so so so good. I absolutely love eating here. Technically eating at home because we always order this to-go. The ONLY negative thing I would say is that the amount of rice given, I believe, is a small portion. read more

I was dying for some good Indian food and saw this place had decent reviews. Holy smokes... this is good. Like really really good. I got vegetable samosas, butter chicken and naan. The samosas are the best I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. The naan is also delicious. Super crispy but soft and buttery. Lastly, but definitely not least, is the butter chicken. Sooooo good! I am a little bit of a pansy when it comes to heat and asked them to make it mild, which they did. It was perfectly seasoned and tender with some delicious big flavor and a bit of manageable heat. I love that they accommodated that request especially since Indian food is inherently spicy. Overall, all the food was freshly made, with excellent flavor. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Curry Sultan's food is 5 stars delicious. We generally order the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and lots and lots of naan (regular and garlic). The only drawback (and not worth taking down a star) is the wait time. Sometimes good things take time... but ya better pack your patience! It's cooked fresh and so tasty!! read more

Good ambiance and great food. Highly recommend. Tried theirs special PANEER NAAN with creamy butter chicken and loved it. Huge thumbs up

Really good experience. Met the owner, he was waiting on 4 tables at once making sure the place was running smoothly. Food was great, loved the music, would definitely come back again. read more

I have sat down for dinner here once and ordered takeout twice and all three times have been wonderful. The interior is very homey--much like walking into a small house that only chairs and tables. Sounds weird, but you understand when you walk in. The one time I sat down for dinner all of the wait staff were extremely kind and helpful. The food always comes out great and in a timely manner. Also, the portions are PERFECT. Just enough to get you full, not the general "American" portions that you get around the area. So while it may seem small at first, it really hits the spot. My go-to is the lamb biryani, hot. The #1 reason I will return to Curry Sultan is because of the lamb biryani. My two biggest pet peeves with restaurants are 1.) "lamb" dishes that have maybe one piece of lamb that was cut into the smallest, tiniest pieces to make it seem like there's more lamb than there is, and 2.) restaurants that claim "hot" and give me one jalapeno seed cooked into the food. The lamb biryani always has a lot of lamb, excellently cooked and marinated, and makes my tongue burn with a delightful tingle. My friend tried it and had to sit for 15 minutes with her tongue pressed against the top of her mouth to stop the spice. She then congratulated me for finding a dish that is spicy enough for me. My hunt for an establishment that means "hot" when they label "hot" has finally come to an end. It makes my heart sing. Lastly, the prices are fair. The naan and curry are also very good! Give Curry Sultan a try. :) read more

The food was amazing. Some of the best curry around. I didn't know that it's mainly a takeout restaurant, we went to dine in. The good: food was good. The bad: pretty bad customer service, as in, the child who took our order clearly did not want to be there and it showed. Prices: a bit steep for the servings. Speed: there is none of that. read more

Great food and the service was spot on. If you are looking for swim thing different in the Humble area to try this is the spot.

My friend and I went here for dinner last night. It was our first time here. We had been anxiously awaiting the opening of a neighborhood Indian restaurant. We were not disappointed. The owner, Russell was very informative and explained the dishes we asked about and answered our questions. I got the Lamb Kebab with Basmati Rice. The Lamb Kebab wasn't your typical piece of lamb, but ground lamb with a variety of Indian spices. It was excellent, and I was given four hefty pieces. We had the Paalak Chatt for an appetizer--it's big enough to share. It's a fried spinach and ground chickpea noodle salad with a very light dressing on it. It was different, but oh-so-good! I would definitely recommend you get this. We also had the garlic naan which was also very good. Highly recommend you give it a try--you won't be disappointed! read more

We are truly food conaisseurs and love to cook. Our favorite kind of restaurant is locally owned by people who are as passionate about good food as we are and who insist on the best ingredients, made to order. Curry Sultan fits the bill with Chef Russell - and the prices are very reasonable. The color scheme is warm and inviting although the lighting could be improved for a little better ambiance. The bottom line is the quality and flavor of the food. We enjoyed everything we had: butter chicken, Aaloo Matar and Malai Kofta. I'll give up romantic lighting any day for a wonderfully prepared meal. You won't find a more authentic, interesting and delicious meal anywhere in the Humble/Atascocita/Kingwood area for the same money. read more

Flavor is just ok, nothing to rave about or come back for. Ive had better indian food in Houston, considering it is in Humble i guess it is passable... One thing i found strange is that they have beef dishes which you will rarely find in an authentic Indian restaurant. Flavor tasted very frozen/boxed food. Oh and they don't give you free refills on soda, strange too. There are better places in Humble to eat indian food, i wont be coming back here. read more

Great food! To say that the food here is good is a disservice to the owner. Russell's grandmother should be canonized for her chicken vindaloo recipe! It was so good I wanted to run it on my face! j/k. Seriously, it's spectacular. The beef samosas were great. The paneer naan and garlic naan were cooked to perfection and seasoned just right! Last two comments: The service is great and highly recommended. The meats are fresh and tender and the spices were fresh. Everything was excellent. The Curry House has good gobi but their service is sooooo atrocious and non-existent I would never try there again. Plus I hear that their meat is suspect and that's why they use so much spice!! ;-) read more

I liked the quaint atmosphere this place had to offer. The owner was very nice and checked up on us frequently. The BEST part of all was the food: good price for great meals. I ordered the chicken tikka wraps while my mom ordered the the chicken tikka with basmati rice and yogurt. The chicken tikka could not have tasted better and gave off a beautiful dark red color. We had dinner on Sunday night. We were the only customers in the restaurant. There were several people that came in for to go orders and most had to wait for their food. We heard the staff tell several people that they had been busy this evening and there not enough people working that night and that the chef had gone home. We had to wait a long time - at least 45 minutes, for our food. When it arrived, the chicken tandoori was burnt -- not just charred, but black all over. The butter chicken was pretty good. To add insult to injury, we were overcharged for our meal. read more

I'm so mad I tried this place!! First of all the service was super slow. I called my order in. Waited 20 mins to go get it and when I arrived had to wait another 30 for my food. Only one other person was in the restaurant. But I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt because the owner was the only one working. He was literally the hostess, waiter, cashier and cook! He was nice. I felt bad for him... until I tasted my food! Absolutely disgusting! I took 2 bites and could not eat anymore. I don't even think the chicken was real chicken! The lamb was sooooo dry and chewy!!! And the potatoes... how do you mess up potatoes! I will never go back there. I really wish I could find some good Indian food in this area, but this place is not it! read more

I really enjoyed my lunch here today with my friend. The place had a nice at home feel to it. We ordered garlic naan bread (amazing) and butter chicken (melt in your mouth deliciousness). They have different spice levels we got mild. I live in Katy and I will be making a drive back out there to try the other menu items as there was plenty to choose from. The chef and I believe manager Russell was very friendly and made sure we were very happy with our meal. The price was worth it plenty of food I even left with left overs. Overall 10 out of 10 read more

Delicious! We had a mango lassi, veggie pakora with the mint and tamarind chutney, lamb vindaloo with raita and chicken biryani and 2 orders of garlic naan. Food is served family style, served in middle of table and everyone makes their own plate. The lamb was my favorite, absolutely delicious! We ordered the vindaloo spicy, it had just the right amount of kick and was not too spicy(I normally don't like spicy hot food). The biryani was ordered medium and again it was the perfect amount of spice. My partner and I love trying new places but only have a handful of places we go back to regularly. Curry Sultan has been added to that short list of fav places to eat. We will defiantly be going back often. read more

This is a fantastic hole in the wall for Indian food. The seasoning is so authentic it took me back to my unforgettable trip to India. The ambience is really good as well, you feel comfortable from the moment you get in. We ordered somosas, butter chicken and shrimp briyani... all of them were great and the portions were just right. The garlic naan is to die for.... all of this at a very affordable price. read more

Not quite what I was expecting. The food was fresh and hot, but the taste was just ok. Ordered Saag Panier and lamb vindaloo. The vindaloo was much more creamy than others that I've had, and had a bit more tang, however the lamb was pretty tender. The saag was a bit bland, and didn't have an option to add meat (though traditionally vegetarian). Not sure this meal pleased my palette, and tough to say if I'd try it again. read more

This is a great little find in Atascosita! It's tucked back in the corner of a strip center at 1960 and Timber Forest, across 1960 from Starbucks. I think the sign out on the street just says "Indian Restaurant," so it's easy to miss this hidden jewel, but it's worth hunting for! I've been here with groups before and tried a variety of dishes--consistently very good! Today I stopped in alone and got my old standby Butter Chicken (yum!) But decided to branch out from basic Naan in the bread department. I ordered Spinach Paneer Paratha, which is a different, more home-style type of Indian flatbread filled with a white cow's milk cheese and spinach. It's a little crustier and less fluffy than naan (flour is less refined), but it was super tasty!! I'll definitely order it again. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pretty basic, but there's nice music, it seems super clean (including bathrooms), and the service is very personal and attentive. Oh! And they have all sorts of interesting drinks (plus the usual sodas, beer, and wine)! I'll definitely be trying the Mango Lassi next time. It's described as: "Classic Indian smoothie made with yogurt and mango." Maybe I'll just get one for my drive home... And a DoorDash driver came by to pick up while I was here, so THAT'S good to know. You definitely should check this place out. It's worth it! read more

Been here many times and the food is always great.....service recently has been going from bad to worst. Came in today for lunch and was not greeted so we sat ourselves......hence only 2 other tables had customers. The cook came out to grab more ingredients from the back and went back to the kitchen. Still nobody around to acknowledge we had arrived.......after a few more minutes we left and went down the shopping center to eat Korean. Nobody even realized we were there and that we left! With this service I'm hesitant to go back especially because my time is usually very limited. Very unfortunate because this is the only Indian food place in Atascocita. read more
