My cousin said this was her favorite Indian restaurant so I decided to give it a try. The cauliflower appetizer had excellent flavor but some pieces tasted a bit stale. The fried fish appetizer tastes way better than it looks, and it comes with two sauces. I would definitely get that again. I ordered a dish that was marked vegan, but it arrived and looked very creamy. So I asked whether it had dairy and was told no. So I asked whether it had coconut milk. The waiter said it did not...so I asked why it looked creamy and the waiter said it had heavy cream...and I explained that heavy cream is dairy and not vegan. So the waiter gets the chef and the chef apologizes for the mistake on the menu. Then the chef offered to make me a custom non dairy dish and it was sooooo good! It was so good that I got distracted and didn't take a picture smh In terms of the atmosphere, we were there close to it closing. There were one or two other groups there. Food was alright. Had a dosa and gobi Manchurian, be aware of the water bottles on the table. The Kirkland water bottles that's $3 a whole pack and they will charge you for it $1 each. Ask for tap water if you need. Have not seen a restaurant do that in a long time. read more

Was in the mood for Indian food and decided to check this spot out. I love lamb chops and butter chicken so that's what I ordered. The lamb chops were flavorful, but as you can see in the picture, it def was a bit burnt which was disappointing. The butter chicken was just okay. I felt like flavor wise, it was missing some things and definitely could've had a bit more chicken in the bowl. I also tried the mango lassi drink, which isn't pictured but was good. A friend and I were visiting Houston for a few days and were looking to binge on good Indian food that texan Indians are always boasting about. This place didn't disappoint. We ate our hearts out and enjoyed every dish we ordered. We started with goat bone soup which took me back to my childhood when we used to eat at the dhabas on the highways during our family trips. It tasted exactly the same, peppery spicy and delicious! We also had veg kal dosa, cut mirchi and gongura mutton curry. Cut mirchi was so delicately made and it melted in my mouth. Dosas were great with the gongura mutton. The quantities were generous and prices were reasonable for the quality. Service was awesome! I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty this place is. The butter chicken was great, rice was cooked to perfection, and the naan bread was nice. They have many different types of naan bread to choose from. I will say the price is a bit high, at $18 for a butter chicken, but it's similar everywhere else in the area. I have noticed that the butter chicken will occasionally taste different when I order it. It seems like the amount of spice they add is inconsistent. Occasionally, it has a strong bbq taste. Came to pick up my food and I spotted a mouse running around. I was disgusted. I immediately left and reported it to the 3rd party I booked from. I had to get my refund from my bank. I have used the Curry House multiple times now for Catering. Their catering menu is smaller and more limited than what is available in the restaurant. I typically order chicken tikka, chicken curry, and jeera rice. I also order the garlic naan. They are absolutely delicious. Their dishes have the tendency to be a little bit on the spicy side. However, in my opinion, the word "spicy" is such a personal taste. So I will put it to you this way: when my various customers have tasted the food, the nationalities that would be considered eastern nationalities have all enjoyed it. Nationalities that would be considered more western have thought it to be spicy. There are exceptions to every rule and this is a generalization but it is simply the best way I can describe the level of spice forthe food at this establishment. As far as the customer service and catering goes, the Curry House has been spot on with the deliveries and timeliness. Everything is packaged individually. It does not matter if I am ordering for 30 people or 60 people, everything is packaged separately and is easy to distribute to a larger group of people. My only complaint is they charge extra for plasticware and napkins on large catering orders. Bottom line - Really good Indian cuisine. We had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Curry House on Sunday!! I absolutely love Indian food and was excited to try a new place while visiting my mom in the area. The staff were so polite and made sure our meal was perfect. We ate in the restaurant and placed an order to-go and they made sure the timing of everything was perfect. We were able to eat our meal and still have hot food to take home to everyone else. They even gave us two plates of Indian sweets on the house to celebrate Diwali. It was so kind! I had a mango lassi to drink. It was perfect- sweet and creamy but not too heavy. For my meal, I had muttar paneer and my mom had saag paneer. Both were delicious. There were generous chunks of paneer, the sauce was perfectly spiced, and the dish had a little bit of heat but wasn't overly spicy. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a large booth right by the window. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to spot for Indian food-- both dine in and take out! read more

I ordered a few vegan dishes, they were good/average (I rarely find an Indian food place I don't like). The dishes seemed very oily but that's typical in many Indian restaurants. But I found their Gobi Manchurian terrible (which I'm kinda basing this review off of) . VERY salty, not sweet at all, and just soggy/mushy and chewy; I kept thinking dog food for some reason. I kept trying to force myself to eat it and I was very hungry. I ended up throwing most of it away. Once this was the best Indian food in the area. Unfortunately, it's under new management and the food is horrible! We started with chat somosa but couldn't eat it because it was so sweet! Next we got Dahl and palak paneer. Of course they failed to bring the naan that we ordered. Again, we tried to eat it anyway but you couldn't taste the normal spices. The predominant flavor in both dishes was sugar. We also ordered tandoori chicken but were so disappointed with the food so far that we left before even trying it. We have never been disappointed with this restaurant! We have come often enough that the waiters remember us. We never have to wait for seats or service. This time we tried the Kashmiri Naan bread for the first time and wow was that delicious- almost like a dessert bread! I saved a piece to go with my Madras coffee and it was delicious! I was excited to see a highly rated Indian restraint nearby. I am a pilot that commutes to Houston for work. I drove over and ordered the goat rogan josh / rice and some garlic naan on the side. I was told 20 minutes. It was ready in 15. When I got back to my place. I was so ready to dive in as it all smelled oh so good. I tried the tomato sauce with some naan, so far so good. Then some meat, crunch a bone. Then another crunch. Then some cartilage and then another bone. I only had maybe three bites of meat that wasn't tough or impossible to chew without dental work. Now I get that there may be a few that you cannot chew. That's normal for goat, but every piece? That's just not right at the price point listed. Never have I been here before and imma be completely honest because I'm coming from San Francisco and the Bay Area has the absolute best tikka masala I've ever tasted. TBC... Well, I was disappointed in the Chicken Tikka Masala. Tasted more like yellow curry as opposed to the masala I've had. However, the Tandoori Chicken was absolutely delicious!! We ordered mysore masala dosa and madras chicken curry with plain dosa. Curry was not great, nothing outstanding. Actually it was just ok. Mysore masala dosa was really bad. My wife couldn't take second bite. After our complain they let it sit for sometime and when we asked again about dosa they replaced it. Delicious food! Everything was soooo good! Nan bread did not disappoint. Chicken and creamed spinach was tasty. Chicken masala (With special tomato sauce) was scrumptious with the hot nan. Basmanti rice was piping the longest I have seen in ages. We went to celebrate my birthday early and were not disappointed. Butter chicken could have been better - was ok. 2 issues - chicken quality poor and lacked flavor. They had Kheer (rice pudding) on menu, daily's it's one of the house specialities, but at 530 pm they are already out? I asked if they had any today, with the answer no.
