I ordered a dish that was marked vegan, but it arrived and looked very creamy. So I asked whether it had dairy and was told no. So I asked whether it had coconut milk. The waiter said it did not...so I asked why it looked creamy and the waiter said it had heavy cream...and I explained that heavy cream is dairy and not vegan. So the waiter gets the chef and the chef apologizes for the mistake on the menu. Then the chef offered to make me a custom non dairy dish and it was sooooo good! It was so good that I got distracted and didn't take a picture smh In terms of the atmosphere, we were there close to it closing. There were one or two other groups there. It's in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking even if you don't get one of the spots up front. It wasn't too busy when I arrived. I'm sure since I arrived after buffet hours. The buffet ends at 3pm but there's lots of room in the buffet area for tons of options. The restaurant is clean and pretty spacious inside. The young lady at the counter greeted me warmly and kindly rang me up for my rasmalai I added to my order upon arrival. The chicken curry was good. Not amazing or the best I ever had but I would eat it again. It came with rice. I'm always surprised when Indian restaurants charge extra for rice. The potato and peas samosas were big, crispy on the outside and nice and soft with potatoey goodness on the inside. They were absolute perfection when dipped into the tartly sweet chutney sauce. I concluded my meal with the rasmalai dessert that tasted of rose, condensed milk and pistachios. I just wished it had a little more bits of pistachio.

I waited in the indoor dining area and it was very comfortable. (It was heated, but I still didn't feel like staying). There were a variety of tables and seating options. There were regular picnic tables, but also some lower "coffee table" height tables with separate chairs. They also had a row of cots or hammocks down the middle of the room. I had never seen one before (see photo) but I Googled and came up with "charpai bed". Not sure how to use one of these. I suppose you could recline while you eat - each one had a small shelf at one end where you could set your food - or maybe just take a nap after stuffing yourself with that good food. I didn't get to see one in use. Some guys came in and sat on one, but they were just waiting for takeout. The food was tremendous. I got the Peanut Masala and the Goat Curry. Both were excellent. The PM was spicy enough for flavor but not painful. The GC was heavily seasoned but wasn't what I would call spicy hot. The goat meat was done in large chunks on the bone, kind of like an oxtail. It was difficult to eat it that way and I wound up eating it with my fingers, gnawing it off the bone. I also had the "Winnie chili naan" and it was so spicy it was painful to eat. Love it!! Highly recommended. I can't stop talking about this place. One caveat - the menu board does not have any descriptions of the food. Just a list of dishes and prices. Do your research online before you go. Otherwise you might not know what you are getting! Some folks enjoy that, but I am not that brave. Check it out. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

We were craving for something spicy and remembered Mark Wein visiting Aga's on his last visit here…read morein Houston. We went on a weeknight and was not too busy. We checked in and was seated within 10 minutes. We got the big table for 6 for just the two of us. LOL. We ordered the Aga's Tikka Masala and the famous Aga's chops with side of garlic naan and basmati rice. Order came out fast. The tikka masala had a whole egg and bone-in chicken. It has. Bit of a kick but we can't get enough of the sauce. Delicious! Definitely have to pair with rice or naan. Next we tried the famous goat chops. It was well marinated/seasoned and was not overcooked. I see now why people loved them. I'm a big fan after trying it. It was tender and super tasty at the same time. We also ordered garlic naan. One order came with 4 pieces. Very garlicky. We will definitely be back again to try the other dishes.
