Goat curry, lamb chops, garlic naan

A hidden gem I found on TikTok. The food and service were amazing! My husband and I got the Goat curry, the lamb chops, and garlic naan. They were all delicious and we loved the atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

What a fabulous experience! It was cold and dark when I got there, so I can only imagine how neat this place is in good weather. It is set up so that you order and pay at a counter/window. Then they hand over your food from a different window (to-go orders) or a server brings the food to your table if you are dining in. I had planned to stay and eat, but it was freezing so I got my food to go. The lady who took my order was very friendly, and gave me a little cup of hot chai to drink while I was waiting. I waited in the indoor dining area and it was very comfortable. (It was heated, but I still didn't feel like staying). There were a variety of tables and seating options. There were regular picnic tables, but also some lower "coffee table" height tables with separate chairs. They also had a row of cots or hammocks down the middle of the room. I had never seen one before (see photo) but I Googled and came up with "charpai bed". Not sure how to use one of these. I suppose you could recline while you eat - each one had a small shelf at one end where you could set your food - or maybe just take a nap after stuffing yourself with that good food. I didn't get to see one in use. Some guys came in and sat on one, but they were just waiting for takeout. The food was tremendous. I got the Peanut Masala and the Goat Curry. Both were excellent. The PM was spicy enough for flavor but not painful. The GC was heavily seasoned but wasn't what I would call spicy hot. The goat meat was done in large chunks on the bone, kind of like an oxtail. It was difficult to eat it that way and I wound up eating it with my fingers, gnawing it off the bone. I also had the "Winnie chili naan" and it was so spicy it was painful to eat. Love it!! Highly recommended. I can't stop talking about this place. One caveat - the menu board does not have any descriptions of the food. Just a list of dishes and prices. Do your research online before you go. Otherwise you might not know what you are getting! Some folks enjoy that, but I am not that brave. Check it out. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Desi Dhaba off of Exit 829 on I-10 in Winnie TX was a surprisingly wonderful experience. This is a place for an authentic experience of a typical truck stop style Dhaba in India. Owner Ajay was very friendly and warm and connected very easily. He was very helpful in deciding the order from a long list of both Veg and Non-veg options on the menu. The place is a large compound with a collection of overly colorful eclectic objects bordering on kitschy and eccentric but fun elements.... more Kindergarten than Indian village. The indoor dining area is large comfortably air-conditioned space with neatly arranged colorful tables and traditional Indian khatiya (woven coir cots). There's ample outdoor seating also. Children are sure to enjoy the several interesting birds in cages including a peacock. Gravel Parking is ample but and some maintenance. Food quality and taste were authentic and excellent. Both the Chicken and goat curries were well cooked and flavorful. Loved the freshly prepared garlic and butter naan. Meera rice was really good too. A wide variety of chilled beer is available to go with the spicy food. Overall, Ajay the owner has put in a lot of effort to make this a wonderful experience. It was a chance discovery but we are sure to return to this place. I wish them luck!

Fantastic food and the best service in a unique environment! We always bring friends (especially those new to Indian cuisine) here. Owner, Ajay, and his wife are the ultimate hosts and chefs, ensuring everyone is delighted with their experience. I wish I could give more stars!

Easily deserved 5 stars! From the friendly service, quirky ambiance, and delicious food... looooved everything about Desi Daba! We ordered Gulab jamun, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, and chai!!! Everything was so delicious- flavors on point (and we visit a lot of Indian restaurants), plentiful portions, and good amount of heat. This is the first Indian restaurant I've been to where they give rice for free. I love the rice too! Just wish the palak paneer was a bit more creamy but honestly everything was perfect. Best chai and gulab jamun ever. Check out the super cute chickens, ducklings, and bunnies on premise!!! 1000% would return

I have had food here couple of times and I'd good, spicy and oily but tasty. Today I had the lamb chop curry, it was not good, weird taste, oily and too salty.

We had desi chicken curry, fish pakoda, naan and rice - all excellent taste and fresh. Ambience is amazing as also the hosts Ajay and Tana. Wishing them lots of success. Highly recommend !

We have been here twice, and the ambiance is amazing. It reminds me of an actual dhaba in India. There is a lot of space and ground set up for a family to enjoy a nice time along with amazing food. The service was good. You order at the counter and go and sit anywhere, and they bring the food to you. Most of the food is brought in to go containers, so it's easy to take back any left overs. We will be back here anytime going to and from houston.

Roadside Eatery: Eat, Drink and Enjoy!

You MUST stop here! Can't believe we stumbled into this authentic Indian roadhouse. What a delicious delight! Food was amazing and everyone was so very friendly. We got tandori chicken, vegetable curry, and garlic naan. They gifted us a huge plate of fresh pekoras. Taj beer was also great. Wonderful place for kids with the animals (peacocks, rabbits, turtle) and playground stuff. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, including authentic chaarpai (rope cots) and even a banquet hall for large events. Don't drive past this hidden gem!

YES RIGHT ! VERY RIGHT. The people taking your order are actually really nice , the place is clean and the food! Omg ! Rich in color and flavor. You can taste the freshness. Comes VERY HOT, so be cautious. There's tables to eat inside if you'd like but we took it to go down the street to a local little park down the street and try it. Serving size is nice. Could use more chicken tbh but for $15 an order I'm definitely not mad at it. My boyfriend and i got butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, we also tried their 2 types of nan. Personally i prefer the butter nan over the garlic nan since it came out a tad softer and more pillow like than the garlic but both were warm & the perfect sharing size. Very tasty. Overall a great first time experience, will definitely be coming back.

Being the ONLY Indian restaurant available in the neighborhood, the rush is pretty heavy with the growing Indian community here. They did carry a small aisle for Indian snacks, really small, more like a shelf. It is a gas station, so cannot expect much. Came here to pick up Chilli Panner ( 1 order costs $12.99) and Samosas ( Indian parties, Samosa and chai go in hand hand - anywhere in the world). Samosa was not just too oily, it was overpriced, and the stuffing was a whole lot of potato. They did make it fresh right before our eyes, that's why the 3 stars. Cannot brag about the chilly panner either. The place is better for grubhub or take-outs, I would NOT suggest sitting in. Overall, a long Mehhh! I wouldn't want to go back here for any vegetarian options, not even samosa !

Despite being remarkably vibrant and busy for a Saturday afternoon, arrival was delightfully seamless thanks to the ample, convenient parking right outside. Stepping inside, the ambiance is rich, cozy, and impeccably curated. The venue radiates the authentic charm of a fine Indian establishment while maintaining an atmosphere that is pristine, polished, and spotlessly clean. The service was top-tier from the moment I arrived. My server, Magic, was extraordinarily gracious, warm, and attentive. Upon his endearing recommendation and friendly demeanor, I began with the Tamarind Storm cocktail, which was expertly crafted, complex, and extraordinarily refreshing. Magic also informed me of their splendid buffet offerings, which I simply could not resist exploring. The buffet setup was an absolute triumph remarkably fresh, pristine, and constantly replenished. Each dish was served piping hot, tasting as though it had been individually cooked to order just moments before. The vibrant colors, rich aromatics, and exquisite spices were nothing short of sensational. Between the immaculate environment, vibrant Saturday atmosphere, divine cuisine, and Magic's stellar hospitality, Noon Mirch earns absolute full marks from me.
