I truly hate to be so critical. However, my meal from this restaurant was absolutely awful. The best way to describe it? It was as if he went to a refrigerator, scooped out what I ordered from a leftover buffet, microwaved it, and charged me $20.00 for curry that was so salty and devoid of taste. read more

This is my third time here, and this restaurant is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. The food is so flavorful and fresh every time. Not to mention healthier than many alternatives. I recommend trying the vindaloo with lamb and of course the garlic naan. The samosas are great, as well. Additionally, the tables, dining area, and restroom, were spotless upon each visit. The owner is very kind and eccentric, and you can tell he is very passionate about his food. He was happy to offer recommendations and make accommodations due to some dietary restrictions. Give this place a try! read more

I have heard great things about Curry Sultan and have wanted to try it for a long time! Today I finally stopped in and ordered the Chicken Vindaloo. It was delicious, subtly spiced, and thoroughly enjoyable. The basmati rice that accompanied it was also subtly spiced and just delicious! I highly recommend Curry Sultan and I cannot wait to try another dish! Also, many dishes are gluten free which is a bonus for me! I can order most items off of the menu which is fantastic! read more

Great service! Order ahead over the phone they said my order will be ready in 30-40minutes, I arrived 35 minutes later and my order was ready to go. From the lamb tikka masala to the chicken tikka masala and the naan bread everything was amazing! My family and I really enjoyed it, thank you! read more

If it was possible to give this restaurant zero stars, I would. I try to support local small business and avoid chains, so we decided to stop in. We went to Curry Sultan before they moved across the street to this smaller place a couple of years ago. It wasn't fabulous, but it wasn't as bad as this. I don't know if they changed ownership or what, but it was truly awful. First, others have reported that the waiter was wearing many hats, cook, taking orders, and running the front. I have no problem with that, whatever they need to do to keep it rolling. Today, the owner was on some sort of rant, complaining about customers stealing from him, yelling at the cook in the back in Spanish, etc. We were the only people in the place and it was embarrassing to hear someone being berated like that in full view and hearing of customers. Then, just before our meal was served (in Styrofoam with paper plates and plastic utensils for a $40 meal), the owner takes a call, goes flying out the door into his car and drives away. The cook, who speaks no English, brings the meal. The Tandori chicken was absolutely, bloody raw with some kind of tasteless sauce on it. The pakora was over salted and tasted like it had been cooked in old grease. The mint chutney was like water and the rice was mediocre at best. The meal was inedible, but as the only person now in the restaurant was the beaten down cook who spoke no English, there was no one to talk to about the problems. We took the chicken and rice home to finish cooking it ($40 after all), threw the pakora away, and left. I did leave a long note of complaint, which I doubt will make a difference. There is another Indian restaurant in the area, which will now get our business. I will never go to this one again! read more

This place had amazing customer service. Russell is a one of a kind owner. I ordered food for my family over the phone and he gave us a estimated time. I picked it up with no problem. I do believe this restaurant does not take cash so come prepared. when I got home the food was still hot. It was very delicious and had me scraping the containers for all the sauce. I was so excited to eat I didn't have a picture but I had ordered the butter chicken and tikka masala with naan. And it was amazing!!!! read more

The BEST Chicken Tikki Masala I have EVER had. Every time I travel; I like to stop and try the local cuisine. I use CTM as my guide. Even coming in at 10 minutes before closing; the staff was very pleasant, the food was made fresh, and even taking it back to the house (90 minutes plus), it remained hot and good. Just the right amount of spice. The garlic naan was one of the best I've had too. Cooked perfectly with very little scorch marks. It was very soft and easy to pull apart to eat with the CTM. Price was excellent for the quality and quantity. Will DEFINITELY stop by again if traveling through. This place is a GEM just waiting to make it big. read more

I tried the Samoosas as takeout and they were delicious. I liked the mint sauce that accompanied them. I have not visited the restaurant itself so I can't rate it. read more

Tried this place.. had the chicken tikka masala and it was watered down. Nan was ok. I won't go back here. Update - response to owners comments. FYI - Went here 2x and same experience. I had better Indian food when I lived In California. read more

It had been a little while since we were here last, and made me wonder why we hadn't been back in a while - the food here is delicious. Tikka masala is my favorite here. read more

Food was hot and the flavor was fine. But the garlic naan was hard and stale- and so expensive for what you got- we had to pay $5.50 for one piece cut into 4. It also took forever to get our food. Will not be ordering from here again :( read more

I ordered pickup and was surprised by the cost versus the portion of items. Small portions for a high price. It is not a family friendly as in you cannot share this food with your family due to the small sizes. It was a lot of money for very little food. The owner is extremely unprofessional as he cannot take criticism. I attached photos of $14 butter chicken and $14 tikka masala. That is the quantity you get for the price. If you're looking to buy a meal for family, do not come here as you'll waste money to get very little food. I also attached comments about the owner's comment on obesity. If the owner wants to market food to be healthy and small portioned, then do so proudly. Not secretly after the owner gets their payment for food Update to review. Look at owner's response. This was shared SADLY between a family of 9. As he said, 3 main entrees and those are the sizes. Very little food for a family of 9. The sizes should be available on the MENU and not reviews. Still warrants a one star as you can see owner cannot and WILL NOT take criticism. read more

I have been wanting Indian food since March when I lost access to the downtown tunnels and my fave Indian spot. I had no idea there was an option here in Atascocita! I'm so glad I tried it. The flavor was amazing on everything I ordered (beef samosa, chicken vindaloo, naan, and chai). Food was hot, and pick up was fast and painless. My husband swears he doesn't like Indian food but when I got home and started unwrapping everything he had a sudden change of heart. He ate half of everything and actually loved it all. We will definitely be back (and next time he can order his own ) read more

Disgusting! Kitchen is not clean. The waiter is the cook, waiter, and server. I wanted to leave but my husband said let's try and support a small business. I was told to wait 25 minutes. We waited 50 minutes. Food was terrible, read more

I've always either got food to-go or delivered and it's been good. Ate there for the first time and we were the only customers in the entire place. The server didn't pay attention to us and hardly came by to check on us. The food is good but I'll stick to getting it delivered. read more

Very disappointing experience. We used to visit this restaurant in the past and always had good food and good experience. This time, the serving size of the food was small and the sauces were very watery. There was only one employee, who was the waiter, cashier and cook. I don't blame him one bit for the experience. We ate and left as fast as we could. Probably not going to return to this restaurant, which sucks cause we like local restaurants. read more

Stopped by on a whim and was very pleased with my meal. I ordered butter chicken and garlic naan both were very good. I would come again.

At first, I wasn't gonna do a review but I figured why not. Well, this place is a one-man shop. The owner is the cook, waiter, busboy, and host. Under pressure, some folks handle it quite well with a measurable tone. Not this one, he's quirky, he's funny, and always in a rush. He even told some guy that tried to call his order in that "he don't have time for that". This was while he was taking my order at the register. The owner treated everyone the same. So when he went up to one table and started recording them for their opinion on the food, every table got to experience that. He takes your phone number with every order so he can text you asking to complete a review on a different website. As for the food, the food was good. I ordered mines spicy, he tried to talk me down to a medium, that wasn't happening. I got the spicy vindaloo (curry) which was listed as his mother's recipe and it was good. It was very good. The food came out timely in to-go containers but he provided a plastic plate and utensils for dine-in preferences. As I go through the most recent reviews and read their concerns. I get it. This isn't what I expected either for a restaurant with soooo many good reviews. However, it's a small, family restaurant that survived the pandemic so don't come in with any expectations. I enjoyed the food but in the future I won't be dining-in. The owner was great, like I said he's a little quirky but a great conversationalist. There wasn't a topic he was afraid to touch. There are a lot of regulars who come to this restaurant which could explain why he's very.. ummmm.. I guess the best way to put it is blunt. Now, here are my issues with the place. The triple berry lassi was watery and not sweet. He told me tried to make it sweet by adding sugar and I didn't taste any sugar at all. The Paneer Naan had burnt residue at the bottom of it and wayyy less cheese than advertised. I list this place as 3 stars because I'm not likely to come back unless I'm specifically in the mood for his mother's vindaloo because it was yummy =) read more

The food was decent, the inside is very rough, plates and silverware were not clean. Asked for a straw and the owner says we don't have them we are strawless, my wife asked what he said . He turns around and curtly says it's saving the environment.. than they proceed to wrap a delivery order in a whole Lot of plastic and use styrofoam containers. We were also told by the server they had smoothies .. hmm a smoothie without a straw .. will Not return .. it was chaos .. I gave one star to be nice. read more

First time visit. Food was great and quickly prepared by the owner. The guy is very friendly and multilingual.

Curry Sultan? More like Curry Moltan lava coming straight out the other end after a few hours. If I could give a zero star review, I would. Food is awful, management is even worse. If you want to see a truly disrespectful human being, please refer to the comments the man wearing shorts and a blazer (aka the owner of this establishment) leaves on one star reviews. No doubt I'm next. Do yourself and the community a favor and don't support this establishment. There are WAYYYY more places for Indian food in the Houston area that don't make you have explosive diarrhea and the staff actually treats you with kindness. read more

Worst experience ever! The place was disgusting! The food was horrible and incorrectly cooked and WAY OVERPRICED. Oh, and the was waitress didn't know the names of any items. We were the only customers there around 3:30pm on a Friday and yet the entire time we were there were old tables with used food plates, etc. on the tables all over. I ordered Malai Kofta but: the waitress couldn't even pronounce to confirm, she called it "malikali" though I attempted to correct her 4 times. Then she came and delivered the food, handing me a bowl of chicken biryani (rice) as Malai Kofta. The "dinner" portion of chicken biryani was $12 and was approximately 10 oz. The chicken was precooked chicken tenders (like the frozen kind one buys) added to a bowl of spiced rice. The rice was dry and crunchy. Lastly, our garlic naan was bottled garlic uncooked! When we sent it back, the waitress asked what was wrong with it though you can see are garlic layered on, oh and they still charged us $4 for it. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

I'm not an expert at Indian food, but I do a lot of cooking and eating. I aim for one thing in a meal. Fresh ingredients and flavor worth eating. I don't have tolerance for low quality food. I'm happy to review my meal tonight. I will say that this was a very enjoyable meal. I went a little overboard on ordering but that's okay. I like to taste a little bit of everything. All of the dishes were tasty. I especially love that you can order some of the dishes vegan and that there were vegan options. It was my first time having the salad type dish on the appetizer menu. I had a unique combo of earthy and tangy. I couldn't eat by myself but I liked it. The masala papads was also nice and light and different texture and flavor. My favorite was the vegan curry. The light red sauce was perfect with big chunks of tender potatoes and chickpeas. Very nice. Of course the garlic was yummy. Definitely satisfied with my choice for dinner tonight. read more

Sadly disappointed. We looked up Indian food with good reviews in our area and saw this restaurant. We were very excited to give it a try. Sadly the service was unprepared and confused about what was going on. After a very long wait we got our food which was clearly not made fresh or at least "scratchy." The naan and roti were burnt, the dish we asked spicy was not, the dish that we asked to be mild was spicy, and the butter chicken was basically sauce with a couple pieces of chicken. The biryani nearly had no chicken. We had high hopes, but we're let down. read more
