Food was great, chicken was tender and samosas were excellent!! Staff is very friendly and restaurant was spotless. What's not to love about this place!! Looking forward to becoming regulars. read more

Food was pretty good! I prefer buffets because I'm not sure what most things are called. I like to try a little bit of everything.

Chef Russell is great, he delivered our dinner himself in the middle of flooding rain storms. We ordered butter chicken and beef koftka, it was delicious! We will definitely be repeat customers. I'm so happy we found this restaurant. read more

Great local find! The fiance and I decided to check this place out for the first time and we were blown away by how good everything turned out. We shared the Butter chicken, beef kofta, lamb kebabs, garlic Naan, and samosas. Turns out it was WAY to much food but totally worth it! Everything was delicious and each dish had its own flavor that was unlike the others. I highly recommend any of those dishes, but especially the beef kofta. Aside the food being delicious their customer service was outstanding as well. I made the mistake and left my debit card after paying. I returned about 5 hours later and actually met and spoke with chef Russell. I could definitely tell he is passionate about his business and puts a lot effort into his craft. Will definitely recommend this place and hope to be back soon. read more

Came late in the evening on a Friday with a couple of other people. Spoke to the owner / chef to ask for suggestions and also engaged him in a conversation while we were waiting on the food to arrive. Ordered mint lemonade, rose lassi, a spinach tinged starter, lamb kababs, chicken biriyani and a couple of curry dishes (vegetarian and non-vegetarian). The curries, kababs and appetizers will leave one satisfied. Will be back to try some other items. I liked the fact that the menu has enough variety but not so much where you are not sure where to start or what the subtle differences are from one dish to another. We will be back soon! read more

Incredible home-cooked Indian food in a quiet setting. Chef Russell is extremely nice and helpful. Not only is the food (I had chicken tikka masala) amazing and inexpensive, but you are supporting a local business owner. Definitely worth every dollar! read more

Had the chicken Vindaloo and it was delicious. Highly recommend this hole-in-the-wall gem.

Finally got a chance to stop in this evening -- the decor is simple but the food is outstanding. You must try the paalat chaat dish (amazing creation) and the lamb as well as the chicken tikka masala. Russell is a warm and engaging host, and he has added a nice little gem of a restaurant to the area. Please give it a try! read more

Being a New Yorker I was craving Indian food! This place was fantastic! The staff was so hospital to me. The food was pleasing to look at and the taste! Oh my! Absolutely delicious! Will definitely be going back again and again! read more

I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan!!! It is exactly the type of comfort food I needed. The Chicken is tender enough to cut with a spoon. The tomato based sauce is velvety and full of warming spices, which is perfect for dipping the garlic naan in. This was my first time ordering and I will definitely be ordering again! read more

This was a really great place! It is far from my house but it was worth the drive! I got the Butter Chicken and it was perfection! The chef/owner was very helpful and cheerful. There was plenty of seating as well. The Lemonade was AMAZING! I definitely recommend it. The owner spoke Spanish so it was really helpful for my mother, who speaks English poorly. This is definitely a great place to go if you are looking for good Indian food! read more

I am upset that this place call itself an indian restaurant which is untrue. No real indian restaurant serves beef. Checking the menu and the review on a I believe paid advertisement you will find out how fake of a restaurant it is altogether. They advertised a korma, vindaloo, and saagwala all the same "A traditional dish prepared with exotic spices, herbs and cashews." These dishes when prepared properly do not resemble each other in any way. All of which do not contain cashews in their recipes. When we visited the restaurant we ordered a lamb vindaloo and a lamb biriyani. The lamb vindaloo was a tomato paste at heart it wasnt even allowed to simmer with its exotic spices. The lamb in the vindaloo was not even seasoned before being added to the dish. As for the lamb biriyani, a rice that is supposed to be infused with flavor mixed with seasoned and lamb we received a mainly sticky unseasoned mess. Not a place of recomendation matter fact do not go there it is not anything of a restaurant much less an indian one.I don't think we can star rating they don't deserve it read more

Wife and decided to check out Curry Sultan while our daughter went to her gymnastics class next door. Ordered Shrimp Pakora, Paalak Chaat, and Chicken Biryani. The spices in the food were amazing! Also had naan, which tasted great. Family operated business with great service. Will be back! read more

This is my new favorite place for Indian food. It's my second time here, twice I took out. It's very small, cozy even if one chooses to dine in. Owner lived in Brazil, speaks fluently Portuguese and Spanish. Very friendly and family oriented. Food is delicious. read more

Not at all worth the money...the lady attendant was extremely hospitable and welcoming but the food was not good plus a totally uncooked small desert of "kajar ka halwa" was for $5.75"...can you believe that. Any god restaurant in Houston will give you a good food with drink and a desert less than those $20.00 that I had to spend at this place. Even after my complaining that the desert is not good, no one bothered to take care of it. Would not recommend. read more

As a recommendation of a relative we had to try this place out and we finally did. My husband brought me to Curry Sultan for the first time a few weeks ago and it was our first time having Indian food. I was told that when we arrive someone would ask if either of us was Vegan or Vegetarian (this did not happen) but I made sure to ask about the Vegan options on the menu. The menu item i asked about was the Matar Paneer because the menu indicated "V" for Vegan but the menu reads "indian cheese" and the waitress stated it has cows milk when I asked which i thought was odd and then she retracted and said no its not animal milk. I asked her to confirm and she went in the back and came back right away and said no its not animal milk. We ended up getting that and a few other dishes and everything was wonderful. The food was a wonderful surprise on the palette and we were both very pleased with the cuisine. The only CON is that The waitress was lacking a bit on service, she was on her cell phone or dissapearing and not checking on us or other patrons as we ate, it wasn't that big of a deal, however that night it was extremely cold outside AND inside the restaurant that our food got cold pretty quickly and we were ready to leave. As we sat waiting for her to bring us our ticket or check to see if we needed to go packages we noticed a man come in (later we found out he was the owner) and immediately began bussing the tables that had been eaten at that needed cleaning and had not been done. He was very friendly and accommodating right away and greeted us as well as the other customers in the restaurant. The food excellence far outweighed the service and its not going to keep us from trying Curry Sultan again. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and it tasted as if I was visiting a friends mothers kitchen. This is a must try for everyone...thank you for offering VEGAN options as well as this is a VERY important factor in choosing where we dine! read more

I have an aunt who loves cooking ethnic foods and has gotten quite good over the last 30 years, but the food served here is by far some of the greatest food I've ever eaten. I have had car trouble recently and couldn't go pick anything up on my day off so I took a chance and ordered here. One of the best decisions I've ever made. The food is very tasty, from the chicken and the basmati rice to the naan and various other sides. Simply amazing food and the best prices. read more

We found this online just yesterday and had lunch there today. Owner was Very friendly and spent time making sure we were happy with our food. We definitely were. The naan was some of the best I have ever eaten. It was not to heavy and cooked just right. We ate off the lunch menu and had butter chicken and the Seekh Kebob. Both were delicious. We are fond of Indian food and are happy to have a good Indian restaurant close to us. We will probably eat there more than we need to. Go give it a try. read more

Food was good, though not typical to other Indian restaurants I've tried. Naan bread was crispy toasted, unlike the normal soft and flexible ones I've tried. Prices very reasonable. Owner came and greeted us, was very nice. read more

If you are new to Indian food or have reservations about trying new flavor profiles, Curry Sultan is an excellent place to get your introduction. I have been twice now and tried several different dishes. Everything I've had here was good and I would certainly go back. There is a lot to like about this place. The décor is cheery and unassuming. There is a little store off to the side selling bulk spices, nuts and lentils etc. Chef Russell is very personable and remembers your name between visits. The food is good, served in the right quanity and there is a reasonable amount of variety on the menu. But there are some issues. First, it is a bit curious that there are beef dishes on the menu. This is not typical in Indian cuisine - maybe a product of adapting to Mexican and American expectations? And some of the dishes taste very unlike versions I have had at other Indian restaurants - specifically I am thinking about my korma which had a cheesy flavor and texture to it, rather than a smooth, nutty, coconuty pureed taste and texture. While the food stands and is good, these issues make me think that the menu is tailored to a non-Indian clientele - not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. read more

Great food! We love to get take out here! Even my toddler likes it. A great addition to the community.

This will be the ONLY Indian place I will ever eat at. The vibe in the restaurant is pleasant; they make you feel at home. The food is phenomenal!!!! Their service was amazing. I highly recommend this place. read more

My husband and I had a great experience at Curry Sultan. We ordered the vegetable samosa appetizer, and then shared chicken tikka masala and butter chicken with naan bread on the side. The food was delicious and the service was quick. The owner, Russell, was very friendly and remembered our names when he said goodbye. We will be returning! read more

Visited three times and never returned again. Food is passable but feels like the curry is blended to a baby food texture. Or maybe it is pre-packaged. I prefer Indian food where the sauce has more flavor, texture and depth. So this is not the kind of Indian food that I am used to, and I like Indian food. Curry House has much better flavor and texture. Curry House's staff are friendly, but do not make you feel uncomfortable. Curry Sultan's Chef/owner is very friendly but borderline pushy. He was pushy about asking for reviews and here it is. He definitely makes one feel that you are in his house, and this may not be everyone's cup of tea. Ultimately, the food and the style is not for me, but it may be for you. read more

This is a hidden gem for this area. It is kind of tucked away but I stumbled upon it one day. (Behind Coaches) They offer excellent authentic Indian food. The lunch menu offers several sampler dishes both vegetarian and non vegetarian. The Chicken Tikka was my personal favorite. It is nice to have excellent Indian food at a good price this close to home. read more

Russell and his wife are such kind people. Their food is beyond delicious and their customer service is superb. Every time we come in we are given top-of-the-line service and are always given a warm welcome. Their chicken Tikka masala is the best! I recommend everyone I know who loves Indian food to try this place out! You won't be disappointed! read more

I ordered paneer naan raita tikka masala and rose lassi ....everything was delicious!

My first time having Indian food and it was delicious! The owner Russell and the waiter were very friendly and inviting! I'm definitely coming back soon. read more

I saw how highly rated this restaurant was and I knew I had to try it for myself. I came here with my bf and when we walked in, we were instantly seated. There were about 10 other parties there and only 1 waiter. I applaud this waiter because the girl was quick to get everyone seated and get everyone's food ordered and out the kitchen as quick as possible. We ordered the shrimp pakora, vindaloo with chicken, lamb biryani, and naan with butter. I loved the shrimp pakora, it was delicious and you could really taste all the spices. I also liked the chicken vindaloo. Very rich in flavor, the only downside is was that I was disappointed there wasn't much chicken inside the dish. I did not expect the lamb biryani to be some type of fried rice. I did not try the dish but my bf said it was good! The butter naan is sooooo goooddddd. We could not stop dipping the naan into the puddle of butter beneath it. Overall, we liked this restaurant and we will be coming back. read more

I absolutely love this place!!! it's a hidden gem indeed. The Paneer naan is always freshly made. I always order two drinks, the rose water, followed by the coconut water., both taste like it's made with natural ingredients. I highly recommend the Paneer Makhni, which is the vegetarian option from the butter chicken option. Both have an amazing sauce that mixes perfectly with their basmati rice. Thank you so much for always giving me and my boyfriend such amazing service. We love coming here read more

The worst food I ever had. Chicken Biryani didn't taste anything like biryani. Chicken Korma tasted like stale yoghurt. Waited for half an hour to pick up the order I placed over the phone 45 mins before. The quantity of the food for $30 I spend was ridiculous. I got the the food in leftover to go containers we get in other restaurants. The worst experience and regret to spend that much money for the worst food I tried in my life. Never going there again!!!! read more

Fantastic food and our new favorite restaurant for Indian food on the NE side of Houston. The samosas were perfect as were the main dishes.

First time to have come to this restaurant after my family raved about it. Great food and freshly cooked! When was the last time you had all the food delivered hot and steaming? Portions were great, temperature was fantastic and spicy was spicy! Great food cooked just right. If you want real Indian food, this is the place. Can't wait to eat the leftovers tomorrow! Thank you Russell for a great dinner. We will be ominous back soon! read more

The food here is exactly what I expect from Indian food. All the dishes you enjoy. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. They are. Dry good at getting your spiciness to your requested mild, medium or hot. The naan is very soft and fresh. Best Indian in the Humble area. read more

Me and my wife was floored by the amazing food prices was great amount of food was great... we will be back many more times

Great place! My first visit and the Food was wonderful and the chef/owner (Russell) stands behind the quality. Great Naan too!

id give it NO stars if i could. absolutely disgusting! the portion sizes are so small for the price. it is NOT worth it! give your money to someone else! ALSO.... not to mention the unprofessional manager! i will never be coming back read more

Although the customer service was great. I wasn't too impressed with the taste of the food. I ordered the chicken curry and it was bland with the taste of tomato sauce. Definitely not what I expected from reading the reviews. I would much rather travel a little further down the street and eat curry at the other curry place. read more

Our first time - and this place did not disappoint! Great Indian food and super nice owner/chef and service. Please get here and eat - we need to keep this place here! read more

We have eaten there a couple of times. The food was ok. Curry House in humble is way better. We also had it delivered. The food showed up 30 minutes late, cold. The dessert had one glubguman in it, the portions were tiny. Not really worth the money. read more
