Russell makes delish food. Many are his grandmothers recipes. He uses real Saffron!!! These are corners many other Indian restaurants cut. The decor is casual and the prices are reasonable. Beer and wine available. Even if you've never eaten Indian food you should go. Great food and they'll help you order. Can't go wrong with Tikka Chicken Masala and the Paneer Pakan! I got my food medium heat but next time I'll get hot because I like it spicier. Highly recommend. read more

I was in Astascocita over this past weekend and noticed this new Indian restaurant. We ordered takeout and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sauces and the freshness of the ingredients. This definitely exceeded our expectations. We will be back the next time we pass through. read more

The only Indian food in Humble, and one of the best you'll find anywhere. Specializing in Northern Indian (Tandoori), Russell and his team make each meal to perfection. Like all Indian food, it's a little pricey for the portions, but my Lord, is it delicious! The butter chicken and Nan bread are my favorites, but I haven't judged the Tikka Marsala...yet! It's fantastic! Splurge a little and check them out! read more

I can't say enough good things about Curry Sultan. The food and drink were both exquisite. I have lived in both Singapore and India, and the food at Curry Sultan is some of the best Indian cuisine I've had outside of India. The quality of the meats if very good--flavorful, tender, and well-cooked. The lamb biryani was especially good, and the portion sizes are generous. The butter chicken was creamy and rich, and the quality of the chicken itself was a step up from what many other Indian restaurants settle for. For a beverage, try the mango lassi, which matches what you mind find in India. This is certainly the best Indian establishment in the area, whether taking out or dining in. The decor is tasteful, the music fitting, and Chef Russell is hands-on in his approach to maintaining high quality across the board. read more

We love the food here, but DO NOT ORDER IT FOR DELIVERY. We live five minutes from the restaurant, ordered 2 entrees, and it took AN HOUR AND A HALF. We have two hungry, cranky little girls who need to get ready for bed, and two parents who will probably just order pizza next time. read more

I did enjoy my food from this restaurant but, the owner needs to calm down with his defensive responses to every negative review. Not everyone has the same taste. Passive aggressively undermining people any time they have a negative comment is totally unprofessional. read more

I found this restaurant by mistake.......I had called an order to an Indian food restaurant in humble. When I got there, they were closed. So, I called back the number where I had placed the order, as it turns out, it was the curry Sultan. I went ahead and bought dinner at the other place as well because I had no idea what this food would be like. Wow were we surprised. Four of us were eating and it was a 4 out of 4 vote that the curry sultan in atascocita was some of the best Indian food we had had. The owner himself is very nice and the wait staff is friendly. You cannot beat the food trust me, take a gamble, try the curry sultan it's fabulous read more

Go eat here now. Seriously, its that good. Im not a huge fan of indian food, but it was amazing. I ate the chicken vindaloo. Way better than Pondicheri. The menus says its his grandmothers recepie. I cant confirm that, if it it is, she must have been an amazing cook. So good. read more

Their food is disgusting. If you think this is what real Indian food taste like, i'm sorry. The food was SO bland! The rice was not flavorful and had no color to it. I had lamb biryani and it looked more like dirty rice than anything else. The naan was good, but you can't really mess that up. The "lamb" in it tasted dry and was also not flavorful. I usually go to The Curry House but I wanted to try this place, however, I will not be returning. read more

Curry sultan is an awesome place to get authentic curry and Indian styled food. The restaurant is warm and inviting with lots of room! Chef Ramaswamy has always greeted me when I entered. I highly recommend the chicken vindaloo and a nice refreshing falooda. It's so good!!! Please visit this place and enjoy, more people need to taste this man's cooking! I know that I am to become a regular here for sure. read more

Food was ok. Most items didn't come with as many condiments as I would normally expect at an Indian place. The grocery section was cool. Cashew rose petal brittle is delicious. read more

I have gone twice now during my lunch hour. Food is very good and owner always makes a point to say hello and chat a minute. Took effort to ask our names. We will see if he remembers them on our return visit :) Rest of the staff is very nice too. Restaurant is clean. Wish the food came out a little faster but would not want to sacrifice taste or quality. read more

This is by far the best Indian food I've ever had. Everything is so authentic and management is very passionate about doing everything the right way. My wife and I have ordered to-go twice and it has been superb both times so they are very consistent. We may dine in next time and order some different meals. read more

Hubs and I came here tonight for the first time and loved it. The mango lassi was perfect - not over sweetened and the nimboo pani was fantastic and not something we've ever had before. We got the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Both were, again, fantastic. Only complaint is that the medium spice level wasn't really spicy at all. Have to try hot next time. The best part about this place is the owner - he's friendly and eclectic. When we walked in we heard latin music and saw him speaking fluent Spanish but then found out he actually speaks five languages. Great guy and fabulous food! read more

The butter chicken and naan were great! Very authentic feel, high quality food, and amazing service. They are proud of the food they serve and the culture they create in the restaurant. Will definitely return! read more

My second time here. My first time was amazing. The owner was there being hospitable and circulating the room. The food was outstanding. There is Indian food in town. This particular time we came late afternoon on a Friday. As we walked in one of the waiters, a thin young man with a faux-hawk haircut, and was sitting in front of the building on the curb, busy with his phone. Laying on the couch in the foyer was one of the kitchen staff. We walked in and there was noone to be seen on the restaurant floor. My wife and I chose a table and seated ourselves. I then went on an expedition through the restaurant to find a high chair for my daughter. Meanwhile there was another waiter, the taller one, that finally assisted with a high chair and took our order. At that point other patrons began entering and miraculously getting seated by the faux-hawk waiter who decided to then enter the restaurant to provide some form of service. At that point, the the man sprawled on the couch decided it was about that time to pretend to work again. Our food was delivered and it was as as great as we remember. However not once did the waitstaff come to check on our table. No refills of drinks were offered. In fact our visit did not even warrant a bill. It was time for us to go so we walked up to the cashier desk and had to pay there. Others did get checks delivered to their table and seemingly better service. Overall the food was nice and service was less than desirable. I personally will not be returning, for food is something I can do at home, and if I am paying to eat out service is expected. I see that the owner is trying to run a successful business. Unfortunately this business is in peril is this level of service continues. read more

My family and I love this place. The owner always recognizes and welcomes us so warmly... but to be honest, it's the food!! The food is amazing. We love sampling one another's dishes. Try the cane juice!! And the dessert with saffron. Delicious! read more

We shared chicken tikka masala and two orders of naan, both of which were very good. My husband and I ate here for $20 with tip and for the money spent we are satisfied. Even being short staffed service was prompt and the food was amazing. We will go back! read more

If you love great Indian food or are looking for an adventure in international flavor in the Humble area, then Curry Sultan will surely please you. So happy to have this great restaurant so close. Great food, service in a simple, but inviting atmosphere. Had Samosas for starters, Chicken Tikki Masala, Lamb Vindaloo. Dont forget the Coconut Rice. Chef Russell is attentive and friendly. His staff goes the extra mile to make sure to have a great experience. It was nice dining at this local gem. This was our second time there in as many weeks, and we will be back soon. Give it a try. You will also come to love it! read more

I recently met Russell and his wife on my way back home from El Salvador. We got to chatting and he told me about his restaurant which turned out to be fairly near my house. Although I am not a fan of "spicy" food myself my wife loves curry so I thought we would check the place out. We were not disappointed. We went on Friday and there were only a few families eating. The service was prompt and staff friendly. Having zero experience with traditional Indian food we really did not know what to expect when we made our order. The food came out and was hot and fresh. The lamb I ordered was ground which is a way I had never had it and was mildly spiced. The wife ordered a traditional chicken dish which was also tasty. I look forward to bringing my entire family by so they can enjoy the food. read more

Excited to check out the new location across the street from the former spot!! Brought my brother to introduce him to Indian cuisine, so we ordered a variety around the menu, and everything was so tasty! We tried the Shrimp Pakora app that was cooked perfectly crispy, the Lamb Kebab that were like spiced Lamb patties with 3 in the order, and they were amply seasoned and so flavorful. The Chicken Tikka Masala never disappoints, and we rounded it out with Palak Paneer- the creamed spinach with cheese. We plated it all over rice, and this was the perfect combination of creamy and slightly spicy with the bold flavors of the lamb and tangy tomato in the tikka masala and the mild creaminess of the spinach and cheese. A little paneer naan to dip in the sauces, and we had quite a perfect meal. Russell is always there to make sure everything is just right, and we appreciate that hands-on touch from the owner so much. Wishing you all the best in the new spot!! Sorry I didn't take any pics--we were too excited! read more

This place has really good food. Fast service. Really friendly. Fresh food. Straight out of the oven naans.

Was in the area and needed a quick lunch. Curry sultan delivered. Lamb vindaloo was incredible. Friendly service, highly recommended

VERY FRESH! Amazing food, great preparation and nice presentation. The staff is kind and very genuine.

Fantastic! Butter chicken is my go-to but everything is delicious. Friendly service. Great, low-key atmosphere, and even a little store where you can purchase ingredients to make your own at home. Can't wait to go back. read more

Tonight was our first visit to Curry Sultan and there will definitely be many more to come! We ordered the fried shrimp appetizer and vegetable samosas to start and both were fantastic. For entrees, we tried butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and the lentil soup... with lots of naan. I didn't personally taste the soup, but my daughter said it was good. The butter chicken was the best I've ever had and the flavors in the tikka masala were excellent! Both chicken dishes were ordered medium spicy, but neither were very spicy for our palettes so we'll be bumping the spices up a notch on our next visit. The restaurant is kept very clean and neat. The entire staff was very attentive and friendly. I can't wait to return and try some other dishes! read more

I have traveled the world eating Indian food, and Curry Sultan is comparable with the best of the best! I am so thankful there is a local Indian restaurant for when I get a craving for this yummy food. I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala with lemon rice and garlic naan...My husband always said he didn't care much for Indian food but often ASKS to order food from here! Thank you for bringing these awesome flavors to Humble, Curry Sultan! I would give 10 stars if I could! read more

Legit Indian food, plus they deliver! Their chicken marsala is on point and samosas are delicious!

Great food. Fresh dishes made to order that you can taste in the meats and spices. FYI spicy is foreign spicy not American spicy which is hard to find in Houston. read more

The Shrimp Vindaloo with Garlic Naan is AMAZING!!! I don't know the owner's grandmother, but I want to hug her for allowing him to share her signature dish with us!!! Even my 1 year old daughter loved dipping the Naan in the delicious sauce. The only negative is that service is slow, but the food is well worth the wait! By far the BEST Indian food I have ever had!! And the owner is a very generous man who is always willing to help a local cause with a spirit night. read more

DELICIOUS! Thank you Russell for delivering wonderful cuisine on a work night when I was exhausted. Lamb kabobs, perfect! Loved everything! read more

Delicious! This place was awesome! I am so glad there is an Indian food restaurant that's near me and not 45 min away. The owner came to our table and personally thanked us for coming. When they prepared the meal they even made a small side dish that was not spicy so a friend could try it (he hates spicy food). He ended up liking and changing his mind about Indian food. read more

I've ordered twice from Curry Sultan so far and I should say I am more than satisfied. Chef Russell does care for his customers. I wish it had more South Indian varieties. In an area where Indian restaurants are scarce, it is easier to get away with average quality food but this place would stand out even if there are more restaurants in the neighborhood. Decent prices too. read more

Fantastic! We had the beef samosas, chicken tikka masala, beef kofta, and garlic naan. While we ordered the food to go, I was pleasantly surprised by the ambience. The store inside and Jazz music were nice touches. read more

The food was good and the owners were friendly. Our appetizer came out relatively quickly but we waited a while for our main dishes (most likely because the place was super busy.) Otherwise, not bad. read more

A must try! We started out with the Paalak Chaat and it was delicious with a nice crunch. I had to try the Rose Water which was very pleasant. Both my daughter and I are vegans and we had plenty to choose from. I had the Daal (Lentil soup) and my daughter the Choley and we were not disappointed! For dessert we had the Keer and Gulab Jamun just to try it because everything was so good (not vegan). An added bonus is that they speak different languages making us feel very comfortable! read more

The food is not great...but the service is good. They changed the itemz for free of cost, but all the items are pretty avg.

Chef Russell and his team are eager to please; he often makes the rounds to each table which is refreshing and shows a true pride of ownership. All of the food is consistently flavorful, and there's a bounty of vegetarian options. I just moved back to the area after a decade in the inner loop and I'm definitely excited to have found a neighborhood Indian spot to keep me in curry! Also, bonus points for the carry out bags being made from recycled materials :). Every little bit helps! read more

Our first time at Curry Sultan and we were impressed! The samosas were a great start - both the vegetable and beef. We really thought the paalak chaat salad was interesting, unusual, and quite tasty! We finished up with butter chicken and the jahengiri pilaf. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire meal and the service was exceptional, too! We will definitely add Curry Sultan to our restaurant rotation. read more
