Tuesday 9/3/2024 I made a takeout order and got the butter chicken $15, chicken curry $14, assorted platter $9, garlic naan $3.99, tandoori chicken $13.99, chicken mo mo $7.99. - The Butter chicken (aka my favorite Indian dish) was pretty decent but it's not really close to the best I've had. Also I wish I could've got a bit more Chicken. - The chicken curry was okay but also a bit underwhelming as it didn't have that strong curry taste & flavor that I was expecting (it was kind of bland). - The assorted platter comes with samosa, pakora, chicken tikka, and lamb kabob (sekuwa). * It was my first time having a samosa and I really enjoyed it (it's a pastry stuffed with potato & peas). * This was also my first time trying pakora and it was pretty decent. * The chicken tikka left me with a mixed feeling: the chicken itself was good but I don't really know what I'm supposed to expect from the "tikka". * The lamb kabob was decent and had a solid flavor profile. * Overall, the platter was very good based on the value and taste of the sampled items. - The garlic naan was pretty cold when I got it but after warming it up, it was solid. - The tandoori chicken comes with 6-7 pieces of small mixed legs & thighs. It's solid chicken but i expected more in terms of taste & flavor. - The chicken mo mos are Indian style dumplings and they were alright but nothing really impressive for me. Although I've had better, this was still a decent Indian food experience. I'd definitely recommend the assorted platter and butter chicken for all of the newcomers.

Chicken Tikka Masala + Cheese Nan

Service was great. Ordered for a pick up and was ready at the time they said it would be. It was steaming hot still after my 15min drive home. The cheese nan was delicious, fluffy, had a nice char. The rice portion is for a kid at best. They need to give a bigger cup. If I had not add nan I definitely would be hungry still. The chicken and sauce itself wasnt the best I had. Lacks seasons. This is me comparing to my go to place in Columbia MD called royal taj. That's real authentic cruisines. But this is good enough to get your fixing. It was $20 for all of this. Inside is fairly small even though I had a to go order. Just wanted to help those out who decide to dine in. They need more lighting, it's too dark in there.

Placed our order online, for pick up. The estimated time was 20 minutes. I drove over early and stopped at another shop near by. I arrived a few minutes early. The lighting inside is very dim. Otherwise, the location is clean and appears to be well maintained. The aroma is very nice. I walked over to the bar/counter in the back. An associate came out of the back and looked at me, with a smile. I said I might be early, but was checking on my order. He checked the order on the back counter and softly said my name. I am not sure if he said anything else after that. I live just a 2 minute drive away. The entrees were still hot. The rice and spring rolls warm, the cauliflower in between. The colors of the food were vibrant. The individual aromas were very pleasant. Each item was very fresh looking and tasting. The cauliflower, Lasuni Gobi, was spicy up front at first bite, but maybe medium at first. Overall the flavor profile was excellent. Both entrees were very tasty. The goat had some fat, which we expected and appreciated. The meat was tender but not too soft. The Lamb dish was very well prepared. The subtle flavor of coconut was in the background. Both entrees were very flavorful, and as expected had their own unique spice combinations. The spring rolls were good, probably could have used a bit more filling to balance the wrapper. The dipping sauce complimented the rolls. We were very happy with the food and overall process to order and pick it up.

First time to try this joint. Very casual cozy little restaurant at a strip mall in Germantown. Hubby and I had cravings for Indian cuisine. This is near the New Grandmart International grocery store so it's perfect location for our purposes. The staff were so friendly and professional. It was a refreshing experience. We got the assorted platter that had chicken tandoori, samosa, lamb and veggie patties with a side of tamarind and green chutney (cilantro and mint). Every bite was delicious! The samosa had crunchy pastry on the outside and perfectly cooked. Lamb and chicken were full of flavor, marinated well. I got the butter chicken and he got the curry chicken. I tried both. I prefer the butter chicken but both were delicious. We got a side of naan and mango chutney and pickled veg . They went together well. Overall a wonderful experience and will definitely come back. I got the Gulab Jamin to go so I'll keep you posted on that dessert! Come try this place.

After all these years our fam still likes y'all :) We like you - we really like you. We've been ordering online delivery consistently for almost 2 yrs now due to what's going on..... and CP has been part of our good eats rotation - the beyond menu app is what we use. Our online delivery order arrives consistently on time with their tasty entrees - no complaints from our bellies. Routinely 99.9999% of the time I post foodporn pics. Photos are way more helpful than reviews imo. Still I'm posting this review if there's interest. Also I'll post pics before reviews 'cause I look for pics myself - just being honest. Hopefully my pics are helpful :) And as usual we'll be back for more tandoori, vindaloo, and for that recent noodle dish I'm crushin' on.

I think it's $14.99/person. Whatever it is it's well worth the price.

Surprisingly the pad thai was delicious and super moist! I enjoyed the bbq because most kbbq places have limited pescatarian friendly options. The salmon cooked in butter was delicious once I added some garlic a few little spices to jazz it up. The shrimp also tasted super fresh. I would definitely return

The street food appetizer came out around the same time as pork belly. I loved the street food platter, particularly the rolls. The pork belly was also good, it just isn't usually my favorite item. Next came out a huge pile of fried pork, much much larger than we expected and very welcome. This along with the sauce it came with tasted great! And last we got our chicken adobo, which was probably my favorite item after the street food platter. There was so much variety that I wasn't able to try everything. Lobster, clam, crab leg, oyster, scallop, abalone, oxtail, rib, fish, cuttlefish, chicken, galbi, shrimp, sushi, and sashimi to name a few. The abalone was a bit dry, probably from sitting out for a while before being eaten. The pig bun was cute, but I was expecting custard and it was actually a red bean filling. I did not enjoy the colorful dumplings. I'm glad they also had eel sashimi, but it was not refilled before we left after it ran out. This big selection is only for dinner or weekends. If you go for weekday lunch, the variety of food drastically decreases. I loved their chicken soup and Buddha jumps over the wall soup. There was also a nice selection of bubble tea and drinks that are complementary with the meal. You can also add on hotpot. There is also a selection of dessert. There's also ramen, but the quality is not as authentic. I love mango, but unfortunately the mango in the fruit section was not ripe. After we were seated, there was so much to try. A member of the wait staff must bring the hotpot (it's small, but that's okay because the table fills up with plates quickly) and sodas, if ordering. I ordered the mushroom broth flavoring (none of the hotpot's have pork-based favoring). Everything else is available to pick up on your own (Ramen, Buffet items, hot pot items, boba teas, and all of the dessert items). Staff came fairly regularly to pick up empty plates. Bathrooms were okay, no lines when I needed to stop by. I would love to see Umi have handwashing sinks outside of the restrooms though, not sure where they would put them, but that would be amazing! It was busy when we dined for lunch, but it was not ever so busy that I was waiting for food or platters were empty. Umi also offers carry out for food and even boba teas for additional cost. There is an automatic 12% service fee added to each check, regardless of the size of the party. If paying with cash, there is a 3% discount. There is plenty of free outdoor parking all over the shopping complex Umi is in. I tried not to think of this too much, but Umi only uses plastic/disposable plates. All that plastic leeching into my food didn't stop me, but it made me uncomfortable and stressed. The bowls for soup were plastic too. The silverware was metal and the bowls the Ramen was served in was ceramic. I asked if by chance non-plastic materials are available at Dinner and was told that only plastic is ever used. I understand why (the kitchen cannot keep up with washing the plates, I am sure), but I am unsure of when I would want to return because of this unpleasant feeling.
