Dropped in around 7 pm on a Friday (last time at 9 pm they were slammed and had a one hour backlog). Modern interior furnishings, several TVs, one set to Bollywood, one to cricket, one to sport and another to American shows. Ordered three items, which were delivered speedily. In the pictures they look small but turned out to be quite filling (perhaps an effect of the rice?). The spice level hit more than expected but I suspect it could have been made heavier: had to top up my water a few times! I'm not sure the price is in the "I'd go here a lot" mark (though I may be more used to Midwest prices) but it's definitely quite good

Egg mania is the latest restaurant in that corner space/ venue next to the Indian grocery store. In the last 10 years or so, this is the 3rd restaurant to open here and I hope they are successful. Went here twice in the last 2 weeks. They serve mostly Indian street style food. We didn't try any of the egg dishes. The chicken sandwiches we tried were all good. None of the kabob items on the menu were available coz they had just opened the week before. The restaurant has sufficient space. The service is ok, most of the serve ware is disposable. The place is noisy coz of no sound proofing and the concrete walls just bounce of the sounds. I tried the chicken peri sandwich - spicy, my kiddo has the chicken masala sandwich which comes with mayo so it wasn't too spicy. We also tried the Samosa chat and chicken kheema ( ground chicken) masala. All the sandwiches come on toasted buttered white bread , so it was delicious , but ? on the health aspect but who cares! The mango lassi was delicious. The chocó rajwadi is a rich thick chocolate smoothie. This is a quick affordable eatery

Very tasty food. Very attentive service. Spacious dining area with fun desi puns. The food is typical Indian street fare with buttery gravies. This time we started with the Dabeli that was perfectly sweet and spicy. I tasted the Misal pav, which was good and spicy but a bit different from Puneri or Kohlapuri Misal in India. I thoroughly enjoyed the Desi Ghotala which was creamy and spicy and served with toasted bread and chapati. Very comforting on a cold day. The herby, lemony shikanji drink on the side really helps balance the spice levels. The host thoroughly rechecks your order to ensure there are no mistakes and also checks for any split payments or boxes needed.

Tried veggie sandwich, Dhabeli, Masala papad. Awesome , will definitely go back again.

Love the ambiance and the food. The service was fast and friendly staff. Loved the grilled sandwich, will definitely go back to try other items in menu.

    Jetty Roll

The Jetty roll was delicious - the masala egg stuffing was spicy enough and the egg-coated tortilla was soft and freshly prepared. The Shikanji wasn't really to my taste (too cumin-y for me) but the service was prompt and polite and the place was cl

Sometimes, there is just so much to say that one is left agog -- and so it is for me with this place! I've been several times and to say I've never been disappointed with anything here at all would be an extreme understatement. I just don't quite know how to best sum it all up, so I have hesitated and put off writing this review. It is a place I know I can go to with much anticipation and have my high expectations upheld. The name is very fitting! Some places may say they are royal, and you could be left feeling ... less than that. This is not that kind of place. You will be made to feel like royalty here! The delicious dishes and their presentation is ... just wow! Nothing here is ordinary. Everything here is spectacular! I've tried so many things, I cannot remember them all -- but I do know that I love the Dal Makhani! It's one of my all-time faves, being so rich and creamy, mmm .... The Mango Lassi comes beautifully presented and literally dripping in dark orange goodness against the lighter milky-mango look of yoghurted-up blended mango ripeness! (Don't worry, the drips are all inside the glass!) The starter crunchy rice crips are very fun and tasty, as well. It's overall just really exquisite, what can I say? Very highly recommended -- a total, all-around Yay! :-D

Also, in roughly 9 months, prices have gone up nearly $2 for specific items that I had gotten previously, which isn't a good look. All in all, I still do believe that it's still up there for some of the best Indian food I've had in Maryland, but it's not worthy of the 5-star, as the 4-star fits it better. -- #issa.cheatday

My go-to spot for Indian food has always been India Palace in Germantown, but I wanted to give…read moreSpiceLife a try. I'd skip the chicken biryani here -- it's boneless, but the rice is just plain white instead of the flavorful fried style you get at India Palace. India Palace still wins for overall taste, though SpiceLife does have better appetizers. The onion padakoor and chili paneer were both really good! I tried the chicken tikka ($18), but the portion was small and had a noticeable tomato aftertaste. India Palace's version has a richer flavor. The Chicken 65 was okay -- small chunks for $16. The poori was fine, and the bhatura came as four smaller triangles instead of one big piece like at India Palace, but the breads here are cheaper. After trying a bunch of dishes, I'd say India Palace is still my top pick for Indian food, but SpiceLife comes in a solid second place.

The ambiance is wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. The food was outstanding, with a menu that offers plenty of variety, including several dishes I haven't encountered at other Indian restaurants. The mango lassi was easily the best I've ever had. The Kothu Parotta was another standout and absolutely worth ordering. It's always exciting to find a restaurant that goes beyond the standard menu offerings, and this place definitely delivers. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with excellent food, great service, and a warm atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

We got the vegetarian thali, the idli vada, and the lunch special Madras 65 chicken biryani. I really enjoyed the thali. I wish I knew what each of the different dishes were, but it was a great combination of different vegetables, spices, and flavors. I loved that it came with bread (which was AMAZING! Was it roti? I don't know!) and dessert. The idli and vada were both great and the sambar and chutneys were a wonderful accompaniment. I particularly liked the sambar - it was great with the idli. The biryani was great too, but way too hot for me. My friend liked it though. The chicken was juicy and tasty and the rice was deeply flavorful.

The restaurant has nice decor and a promising selection of menu items, but the execution of the traditional dishes fell short of my expectations. The Highlights: Timmur Chicken Wings: Absolutely amazing. The flavor profile was excellent and easily the best part of the meal. The Disappointments: Thukpa: I have very fond memories of this dish, but this version was highly disappointing. They altered standard ingredients and added fish oil, which is definitely not characteristic of traditional Nepali Thukpa. Momo: While the dumplings themselves were okay, they were let down by the sauce. What makes a Nepali momo superior is the specific, vibrant momo sauce (achar), but the sauce served here looked and tasted like a generic, store-bought version. Overall Verdict:While the menu features an appealing variety, the execution misses the mark on authentic Nepali cuisine. It has great potential, but they need to stick to their authentic basics.

Unfortunately, the dinner Combo noted at the top of the menu as an add-on was not available so we didn't get to taste the wider variety of foods we had hoped. Not sure why that was not available. It doesn't appear to be a lunch only option by the text on the menu. We ordered the Minerva Lamb Special, and the Chattinad Salmon Curry initially. A bit later we added the Paneer Masala Dosa. The food did not disappoint! The lamb was tender and the sauce flavors were not overwhelming but the perfect complement. I normally don't consider salmon to be a good curry protein but this dish was delish! The salmon was not overcooked and it didn't disappear in the sauce. Three cheers for daughter's choice! The dosa was huge with a scoop of paneer curry in the middle. We enjoyed breaking off crisp pieces to dip in the accompanying chutnryb& sandu. We obviously had leftovers and were provided with the perfect containers, including condiment cups for the chutneys and dips, to transport our dinner home for son to enjoy. And I would say that even if I was not using coupon. We started with soups: mulligatawny and Sambar. Both were delicious. Then we shared an appetizer of Ginger Shrimp. The shrimp were lightly fried and coated with a delicious coating. Not "overly" gingered for me. The appetizer came with two sauces (one spicy and one sweeter) that were good, but I didn't think were needed because the shrimp were good on their own. For entrees, we got the Palak Paneer (mild) and Chicken Tikka Masala (medium spice). Again, both were delicious. The rice accompanying the entrees was well prepared. We ordered a Garlic Naan that was deliciously garlicky. The soups and appetizer mostly filled us up, so we took the entrees home and had them for lunch the next day. Everything microwaved well (including the rice) and the leftovers were outstanding. Service is overall good. So now I can recommend both for lunch buffet and for dinner.
