Minerva is a very good option for Indian cuisine in Gaithersburg, MD. The business claims to feature menu options from 6 different regions of India curated and prepared by chefs from those regions. Their diversity is evident by their restaurant menu. I appreciate the good customer service and comfortable seating here. They have standard chair and large booth seating available indoors. I like the booth seating because it accommodates large parties. There is no outdoor seating here. I'd categorize the food as authentic, however they certainly can afford to increase the spice level. They haven't completely modified their spice level and flavor to accommodate the region, but it is obvious they have considered their demographic. Overall, a very good Indian restaurant experience and I will visit again when in the area.

Minerva has the best Indian Lunch Buffet in the Rockville/Gaithersburg area. The food is always delicious and high quality and the buffet is a great way to try out a variety of items. My favorite dishes are the Channa Masala, Aloo Gobi, and Butter Chicken. Visit Minerva if you want a high quality Indian meal.

I ordered the veg spring roll, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The spring rolls had really good flavor but were very crispy (not a bad thing just a note). The chicken was SUPER tender and the flavor of the curry was amazing. The garlic naan was very yummy as well! The staff was very friendly as well when i went to pick up my order.

This place here is a Diamond in the rough!!! At first the service was a little slow and lacking but it could of been the language barrier. Once I got settled in everything was cool. There is a lot of seating, 2 TV's and a buffet bar. The buffet looked good but I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo extra spicy and it was flavorful. I'd do it again!

I ought 2 orders of plain Dosa and 1 order of shrimp biryani. The dosa was cold and the curry comes with dosa taste is really bad and smells also terrible in said curry vegetables also cold. " The manager said " kitchen will serve it heated by microwave. I have been to this restaurant many times this is the first time I've experienced this type of food. The quality of the food was very dissatisfying.

I have to say this is one of my favorite Indian restaurants. The manager is very sweet as I ordered a Groupon and did not realize you could not use it for the Buffet and it was a one time use only . they help make it right so I could use it for the non buffet food. my fiancé does not like spicy foods, so he ordered his lunch from the menu. It was tandoori chicken kababs. Great presentation as they came out sizzling and look beautifully prepared. They were a little spicy . The manager told us to just tell them next time to ask for not spicy so now we know. There's so much to select from on the Buffet; the warm carrots for dessert are my favorite . The butter chicken is amazing, the fish masala and more were wonderful. it's a taste bud experience and explosion . Finally the naan-bread is made hot. So good. The restaurant was quiet as we arrive late in the lunch time . I would recommend this place for eat in or to go. I've been coming here for almost 30 years and will continue to patronize.

A comprehensive menu with traditional North Indian favorites as well as South Indian style items (dosas, uttapam, vadu) and Indo-Chinese offerings. We used to go to the lunch buffet pre-pandemic and were always pleased with the variety of choices offered. This time just dined in for dinner and ordered their vegetable Hakka noodles and palak chana masala. The former was similar to Chinese style lo mein, but much spicier. The palak (spinach) dish was a rich and well-seasoned curry. The chickpeas gave it an extra texture. Loved both dishes and would like to try other options not commonly seen in other Indian restaurants.

Whoever made the chicken pakora tonight, 7-31-2024 should teach everyone else how to make it. It is the best pakora I have ever had and I also ordered Saturday but it was not nearly as good. It is fried better, and has better spice today. Thank you.

The décor is beautiful, lots of gold accents and very clean. I honestly didn't expect the inside to be so elegant. Even the silverware is gold, and the plates have gold trim. It feels upscale but still warm and welcoming. We tried the lunch buffet and it was absolutely delicious. The food wasn't overly spiced, salty, or sweet, everything tasted balanced and made with care, like something your grandma would cook. I went around 1:45 PM expecting the buffet to look picked over or dry (like many places that late in service), but everything was fresh and fully stocked. Great variety, very flavorful, and the meats were well marinated. The staff was friendly and attentive, my water glass was never empty. Lunch buffet is $24.99 per person and absolutely worth it. They close at 2:30 PM and reopen for dinner at 4:30 PM. There's ample free parking and even a party room for larger gatherings. So happy to have found this place. I'll definitely be back!

Im updating my review!…read more When you had a hectic Manic Monday...you do not wanna cook dinner. I love Indian food. However on this particular visit I was soo indecisive. Do I want butter chicken, Do I want tandoori or tiki masala?? But then something caught my eye! I saw Briyani and I had it many times before from my sister's group and I absolutely devour it. So , I took a chance. The nice young lady working there was so patient with me changing my mind. So I got lamb briyani, garlic naan, mango lassi, and Rasmalai.(dessert) My spice level has gone down through the years as my tummy cant take spice as it used too :( Had no idea it came with Raita ..a cool yogurt sauce. Similar to tzakiki. We took our dinner home.. and then lamb briyani ( rice dish ) was amazing! It was plentiful. I had leftovers the next day. If your indecisive and need dinner ideas, get this... get it with lamb. Lamb was flavorful and tender. 5 stars.

Also, in roughly 9 months, prices have gone up nearly $2 for specific items that I had gotten previously, which isn't a good look. All in all, I still do believe that it's still up there for some of the best Indian food I've had in Maryland, but it's not worthy of the 5-star, as the 4-star fits it better. -- #issa.cheatday

A lot of restaurants tone things down to fit American tastes. Chennai Hoppers is one of the few spots in MoCo that doesn't. I've been here a few times now, trying something different each visit. It's unapologetically authentic South Indian cuisine. The space is cozy with a rustic feel. On our most recent visit, we were seated promptly and service was excellent. We ordered a couple of apps and entrees to share. The Kaalan Manchurian was a great start. It's similar to Chicken 65 but with mushrooms. Spicy, savory, and tangy all at once. We also tried the Aadu Nei Chukka. As someone who loves lamb, this one stood out. It's a dry dish with an intense masala that's deeply spiced and full of flavor. For mains, we got the Goan Fish Curry and the Madurai Goat Pepper. The Goan Fish Curry was milder than the goat, but still had plenty of heat since we ordered it spicy. The coconut milk base gave it a smoother, more balanced profile that worked well with the fish. The Madurai Goat Pepper was the opposite. Bold, pepper forward, and dry. Easily one of the better goat dishes I've had. Chennai Hoppers does a great job showing how spices should be used. Nothing is watered down, but everything still feels balanced.

My mom and I came for the lunch buffet for $18 each, and the service was alright, but nothing stood out. You get all of your food from the buffet except for the naan that gets delivered to your table occasionally. Also, as a tip, I'd recommend paying with cash as it's cheaper. I tried a lot of items, so it's easiest to rank each item into tiers of whether I'd recommend it or not: YES: - Mango lassi - Gulab jamun - Chicken biryani - Deep-fried bread (bathura) - Tandoor chicken - Saag paneer - Samosa MAYBE: - Chana bathura - Butter chicken - Goat vindaloo - Veg noodles - Aloo tikka - Beans - Naan NO - Patty looking thing (best way I could describe it as I don't know the name lol) - Kheer - Aloo matar - Rice - Methi paneer - Dhai vada (this was HORRIBLE) Overall, the buffet experience was okay for the most part, as the food ranged from awful to decent. It's clear to see that my mom's claims did not pass the test, and I'd easily recommend the Muddy Branch Indian buffet for my Indian buffet fix.
