Avoid this restaurant like the plague. A train-wreck of an experience. The following should not be taken lightly: I have been to countless no-name restaurants IN India, and they have ALL had BETTER service that Minerva. And to those who have never been to the motherland, Indian restaurants there are definitely not known for their customer service. Think about that for a second.
I went with my family at 9 PM (they closed at 10); the restaurant was completely empty except for one couple. The emptiness of the restaurant should have raised a red flag for us to not eat there, but we thought let's give it a shot. Turns out that was a terrible decision.
No one came to take our order, we had to flag a waiter down after 10 minutes to even start off with water. After 20 minutes, we had to flag him down again to take the order, and the waiter started checking his phone and giggling as we were ordering.
Food was okay. No idea what the chefs use in the food; the next day my fingertips were still stained and smelled from the butter chicken, and I wash my hands very frequently (every hour or so). My dad ended up getting a stomach irritation the next day from the food. My family can handle extremely spicy food, but something was not right with these dishes.
Around 9:40 when the food came out, when we were eating, the entire staff (including the chef) started staring at us from the kitchen doors, not in a "would you like anything else?" sense, but rather a "please chow down your food and leave now" look. Not once did any one in the restaurant ask us how the food is, even just to be polite.
At 9:55, all the TV channels were changed from an Indian movie to a Spanish comedy show, and all the dim dinner lights were fully brightened to signal that we need to wrap up our food.
At exactly 10, my family is quickly finishing up and another waiter comes by to ask if we have our bill ready. We say we're almost done and he walks away grumbling and CURSING at us in Spanish under the assumption that I don't understand what he's saying (I've learned Spanish since middle school). He stops by less than 3-4 minutes later to ask if we're ready and we say just "one second" as my mom is taking out cash. He grunts and mumbles "come on man" real softly, again thinking that we can't hear him. I then tell him that he needs to watch his mouth and he starts smiling cause he got caught, then walks away saying "we're closed man".
I am enraged at the terrible service and walk up to the manager behind the cashier's desk to explain that his waiter just cursed at his own customers. The manager doesn't even listen to what we were trying to say or make eye contact whatsoever. He keeps counting his cash, robotically says "sorry sir" and starts closing down the restaurant. Absolutely ridiculous.
tl;dr / Recap: Worst customer service I have ever come across in my life, and I've been to Indian restaurants IN INDIA, so that's saying something. Avoid this restaurant like the plague. Food is NOT worth it, my dad ended up getting sick. Waiters cursed at customers in Spanish. read more
