Needed to find a place in the Mission that could accomodate 17 (for an office happy hour/off-site), and I'm glad I chose Curio! Staff was accommodating with making reservations, and we were able to get an entire private corner of the restaurant for our group. Service was attentive and quick, which was great. Food: We ordered so much food, and everything we got was really delicious! Highlights that I remember were the oysters, burgers, brussels sprouts, fries, and wings. Drinks: I got the mermaid (vodka/grapefruit/other fruity flavors), and it was pretty strong but didn't taste that way -- my kind of drink! Ambiance: Not too loud/dark for a bar. Good place for a casual happy hour because you can hear/see everyone you're trying to talk to. Went here last weekend with friends for my birthday brunch. It was a big group so I tried to understand the server being "accommodating" and having the patience to deal with 16 (I believe) of us. However, his attitude was ass. The food was mediocre, I think I'm being too nice giving it 3 stars. Most of the party left their plates half. If I wasn't for all the bottomless places nearby having a nearly 3 hour wait, we wouldn't have came. Wow these drinks were soooo good! i initially just came for drinks, but my friends ended up ordering some treats too. we got the mac and cheese and the ribs and wow they were just delicious. but definitely get a cocktail if you come here! they are not only pretty but also super good and very original recipes. i would consider staying if there is live music too, because the energy in and around curio is very unique during those nights. also, our waitress was awesome. i didnt catch her name, but she was super friendly and gave great drink recommendations. check this place out if you're in the mission! read more

When he say dollar oyster my eyes was lit and I told bart Simpson we must go so chug up that damn shot and drink of yours.... lol . So here we go from the bar to catch an uber to here, the hostess said we missed the hh within 5 mins, I say u gotta be kidding me.... then we got granted once it was all cleared up from who told me and etc. I was disappointed to happy again. . Got sat down an ordered myself 2 stouts, one dozen oysters, one order devil egg, and not to be bothered. Lol.... so here goes bart Simpson ordering me a unicorn cocktail, hush puppies and some mac and cheese. Well basically the whole hh menu. . Mac and cheese reminds me of cheese cake factory fried mac and cheese ball. 3 bucks for 3 PC was well worth it. . Hush puppies 3 PC for 12 bucks was kind of expensive. It was good, fluffy, and that spread was sooo yummy. The spread was creamier than you think it was. . Devil eggs - let's just say they topped it with crispy pork rinds which gave it an interesting look and texture. Basically one egg split into 2 is one order fyi. Can never go wrong with this order since it's hard to mess up a simple dish. . Oysters - dollar oysters umm. Heck yea. One dozen for me and however many you want bruh... . Overall the service was great. We got all the drinks and food during hh. Basically 2 hh in one day and I was satisfied. I would be back for some more drinks and oysters ;) just remeber hh is over at 655 not at 7pm on weekdays. We dined here with friends during the restaurant's opening on Friday night (6/22). Unfortunately, our friends used this occasion to tell us that they're moving to Argentina! So this is written with a slightly heavy heart. The Curio space is connected to The Chapel, and was previously named The Vestry. Having dined here several times when it was The Vestry, the changes to the decor, including loads of new art, enhances the new experience. We all tried cocktails from the cocktail menu, and we all generally really liked them. We also ordered raw oysters and the deviled eggs as starters, both were good, especially the deviled eggs. For the table we ordered the burrata dish, the fried chicken sando, and the burger with fries and we all really enjoyed each item. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the cocktails and menu. My phone battery died mid-meal so I'm including a few photos from restaurant's web site in addition to my own photos. All in all, Curio is a great place to grab a drink and a meal, especially before a show at The Chapel. We attended the Sons of an Illustrious Father concert after dinner, and the experience moving between the two establishments was seamless. Recommended. Now if we could just get over the fact that our friends are moving...Revisited this restaurant a few days ago and sat outside. Not sure what happened to the Vestry but Curio is amazing. I want to go back everyday for the fried burrata! Not to cheapen it, but I tasted it and was like, this is so good, it tastes like the best mozzarella stick I've ever had. I love mozzarella sticks but it's rare to get really good ones. Anyway Curio solved that. We all got the Frose which was super good; fresh, sweet, a little tangy, and cold (duh). I had the Shrimp and Grits for my main. It was good. I have to say, I always think Shrimp and Grits are going to be much better, and then when I get it, the grits aren't as cheesy as I want and usually not salty or hot enough. The shrimp were tender and flavorful. Service was really good too; our waitress probably could have checked on us a couple more times which would have led to us getting more drinks, but she was probably busy. Dessert menu was bare bones and the no bake cheesecake was already sold out at noon. I'm going back next week for sure. Price point is like $$, not too bad, but not cheap. New to the area and came in for their second day of brunch ever. I'm going to give the staff the benefit of the doubt with my rating since it is early on in their brunch careers! First off, the food was incredible. Definitely some of the best breakfast food I've had in a while. I ordered The Hangover "Curio", and my wife had the shrimp and grits. All of the ingredients seemed to be very fresh. On top of that, they seemed to know that the flavors of the foods would speak for themselves, so they haven't over seasoned any of the items, and they each have great flavor without coming on too strong. Really enjoyed each part of the meal. To top that all off, the highlight of the breakfast was definitely the home made grilled peach jam, made with fresh peaches. If you go here, definitely order something with this included, or ask for it for your toast. I can see one great plus of Curio being their selection of cocktails. While I didn't order one, my wife had the Frozé. We would definitely recommend, and saw just about every other table today drinking them too! If their other cocktails are this good, then definitely a plus. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. We sat outside, and they have a great patio area with lighting which faces the street. If the weather is nice this is an awesome place to have a meal. Unfortunately I can't give Curio a five star review, and I even hesitate to give it the four stars I'm giving it today. Our service today was lackluster at best. Understandably they were very busy, and this particular day there was a street fair going on so they were probably overwhelmed (hence the four star review). However, service was very slow, especially in key areas like checking up shortly after the food is delivered. We will definitely be back again, and hopefully they can impress us with their service once they've had more time to iron things out. The food is definitely worth it! read more

This place is a lot bigger than I expected! There's indoor and outdoor seating (heaters outside). We sat outside on a chill Sunday night (loved that it wasn't crowded) and shared deviled eggs, fried burrata, and fish and chips. Sitting directly under the heater was more comfortable than sitting in the direction of the heat (if that makes sense...). Although the food was great, the service was lacking. Sat down with a larger party which automatically gives a server gratuity, but I'd take it back if I could. Our waiter appeared annoyed and not friendly at all. Several errors with orders were made and ultimately left us with less desire to come back. Probably the best thing in Valencia in a long time. I can see this place be the next best thing in SF. I absolutely fell in love with the live music, the decor, and the amazing chef. I came here pre-opening, and now after full opening and wow. Still super consistent. We had the devil eggs, we had the beer can chicken, and some of the salads. Everything was amazing. The food was juicy, delicious, well thought out, and the presentation to die for. The drinks are probably another reason I'm going to be coming here. The Mermaid is my favorite and they have other ones that cater to your palette. I am gonna keep coming back over and over. It was my first time at Curio and with limited staffing at restaurants nationwide, I am usually patient with my service. However this was one of the worst experiences I have had. After being seated, we waited over 20 minutes with nobody waiting our table and had to flag them down. After ordering all of our food and drinks at once, when we went to pay the bill, we saw our waiter wandering the streets instead of grabbing our bill. The food was lackluster and definitely not worth the trip nor the experience. I never usually write reviews, but this experience was awful that it required one. read more

The last time I ate at this location was in November 2015. It was called the Vestry and I was going to see PIL at The Chapel next door. This Halloween, I wanted to try out Curio before seeing PIL again. It was a warm SF evening and everyone was eating dinner on the patio under heat lamps. I'd rather be outside, but the lack of decor on the patio didn't do anything for me. We decided to sit inside. I ordered the house cocktail called the Sphinx. It was very tasty even though I tend to stay away from cocktails with gin. We ordered the pork belly sandwich, the riblets and the brussel sprouts. I would order all three dishes again. I look forward to trying this place for brunch and seeing more music at the Chapel. read more

I love Curio! They are attached to the music venue, "The Chapel" which always has amazing bands and live music events. Occasionally, there is a night when then have a private party in the music side, so make sure you check the schedule before going. Definitely best to get tickets for music events well in advance via "The Chapel" website. Then you can enjoy the larger restaurant, patio and bar Curio has right next door. Food is excellent and service is also very good. I love their neon art, posters for upcoming music shows in the back and sometimes they also have a smaller band playing jazz in the restaurant as well. Came here for their first brunch since opening. Used to frequent the Vestry and always could count on quick and efficient service from the team. But my experience at Curio's first brunch was definitely sub par. First of all, let me say that the food was EXCELLENT. I had the Cinnamon Babka French Toast which was perfect. Not too sweet and just the right portion. We decided to get a carafe of mimosas with orange juice. They were ok but I'm not sure if the OJ was actually freshly squeezed as they tasted and smelled more like Emergen-C. Our service on the other hand was a mess. Our party of 3 was seated at 11:35 and no one acknowledged our existence until 12:00pm. There was a server checking in on every table around us but didn't come over to us. We were not spoken to until my partner approached the hostess and asked her if someone was going to help us. We remained patient waiting for our food and drinks and enjoyed our meal once it arrived. Our server did not check on us once while we were eating. Finally, when it came time to get the check, it took about 10 min to wave down our server. We received the bill at 1:00pm and promptly placed a card down. It took another 15 min to close our bill out. Insanity. We were ready to order another round of drinks but did not as we knew it would take another 30 min to even get our server to come to us. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as I know it's their first brunch weekend. However, I'm unsure if I'll return for brunch if the service standard continues to be this low. read more

We were a group of 12, (don't ask me how that happened for a covid gathering) we were originally seated together and later told we had to become two tables, they are far more than accommodating here. Tere was our server and she is an absolute ball of sunshine. Drink recommendations and amazing fries. The French fries and chicken tenders (basic right?) blew our minds. They have good cocktails and great djs but honestly the real reason I keep coming back is the bouncer jay he is the nicest guy I have ever met I never had an experience where the bouncer actually made me feel safe. He is so professional and welcoming. As a female new to the area I come here alone and feel so safe thanks to jay !!! Ehhh more like Curio my behind out of here. Came during the beginning of HH and literally ordered everything on the menu. Oysters: they were alright. Served with a house mignonette with whole pepper corns so watch your pearly whites. It was served with a "dirty martini" granite which is shaved ice so it waters down everything and maybe too sour. No lemon. Wasn't thrilled. Deviled Eggs: too much oil oozing out of the sides. The only flavor is from the oil to be honest. It looks pretty and IG worthy! Hush puppies: tastes like a sweetened cornbread with mild chunks of shrimp. The star in this is the butter spread that comes with it but it could use some more salt and needs a deeper flavor. The drinks took 30 minutes to come out and already ate the deviled eggs and part of the puppies. I enjoyed the outside decor and wasn't too impressed and not entirely sure if I'd come back. I've been to dinner here twice now and have loved it. Great menu selection with a lot of variety. My friends and I ordered and shared a lot of the menu on both of our visits, and they do everything very well. Great cocktail options, along with beer and wine, as well as live entertainment on the heated patio. The service has been great both times we've visited, the staff is always friendly and responsive.
