I have no doubt that Brent, the manager, would have done a fine job - if he was doing the gardening. But that is where the complements end. His workers often didn't know what they were doing and the company was paid to clear my entire slope (they cleared half) but did not finish. Unfortunately for me, the did their work early in the morning, when I am not up, or maybe I could have worked more closely with the company's workers. Regardless, I sent pictures and detailed instructions (also including pictures) on exactly what I wanted done to my yard. Time after time for over one year, this company fell short of my expectations. I wish I could say better, but I just cannot. I asked for one bougainvillea to be cut more like a tree and I supplied pictures, but that didn't get done - at all. They didn't even try. Another bougainvillea needed to be pulled, something I asked to be done, but there just seems to be a disconnect between the manager and the employees, either in skill or communication.

On 6/13 I spoke with Luis about a mature jasmine bush that he tore out, we had discussed keeping my plants on 6/9 the first day of work. After blaming "them" several times, he owned the mistake and said he would replace it and that they should be finished on Tues 6/16. I said, the contract date is 6/14, from his reaction he clearly had no knowledge of that. On the eve of 6/15 I saw the disaster left in my yard and I Emailed Brent asking him to stop all work until we could meet. Some of his response, "We are not completed yet. We do have you on schedule for tomorrow. All of the debris and plastic will be removed before completion. " We had a onsite mtg, Brent said via text they would finish on Friday, but the mistakes multiplied and my yard was left a mess. I ended up firing them because they had violated the contract by not meeting any completion dates, etc. I informed them I would have CSLB investigate, and when I went to file the complaint I found out their license is suspended, see pic. All around bad choice which I regret and now I have to hire someone to fix the work I already paid $7,000 for. IN RESPONSE TO BRENT'S COMMENTS, he contradicts himself frequently and not once did he mention water being a issue. I have water usage reports, and his other excuse for not cleaning the rock is in writing. Tearing out the jasmine was not discussed, instead I was told how they were going to protect my plants. To be fair, I did not speak to the CSLB about his suspended license before posting my review. I have spoken to the CSLB and they confirmed the license is suspended due to lack of insurance coverage. GG can't do business while suspended and as of today 7/6/26 the insurance coverage has not been received. They asked if the owner had called the CSLB and I read Brent's response to them.

Another issue was the contract. They used the date they gave me the estimate instead of the actual date I signed the contract. When I tried to cancel, they told me I couldn't because they relied on the earlier date, even though it wasn't the date I signed. They also removed my swamp cooler without understanding how it worked and left a water pipe open, which left me without water for two days. My calls went unanswered until the second day. The craftsmanship itself looks good, but the lack of communication, poor project management, and the way the permitting and contract issues were handled made this a very stressful experience. I would recommend asking plenty of questions and making sure all permits and paperwork are correct before work begins.

Unfortunately, this experience was subpar, 2/5 stars (hence my 3/5 star rating, I split the difference between my two experiences with this company). Setting up the estimate appt was easy and they came out quickly. The estimate arrived promptly as well. We decided to pull the trigger and that's slightly where it went downhill. Due to the tile we used, I did ask the estimator Jay what option would be best. Floating shower doors or a set up that had metal trim around the whole thing that holds the glass in a more sturdy manner.. he said either would work. When the guys came to install, they didn't really seem to know what they were doing. The end result looked very sloppy, the clear silicone looked like it was pasted on by a 5 year old and a black trim piece placed along the bottom was crooked. When I mentioned this to Jay, he said he would happily replace the trim piece but would need to order it. When I told him this was our only real "complaint" he followed up with a statement "well, so I have a complaint now, the tile you used is really thin". Um, ok, what does that have to do with this situation?! I asked from the beginning what shower glass would be best and was told that any would be ok but now we're talking about how thin my tile is?! What a very odd statement to make to a customer AFTER install. This should be assessed prior to install AND I asked what glass set up would be best for our shower. Anyhow, 2-3 weeks went by after mentioning all of this and complete silence. I had to actually call to ask when this new trim piece would be installed and then they finally set up the appt. When a customer has an issue with something, they shouldn't be the one to have to call and follow up, right? The same kids came to install the new piece and they did a better job but as I sit here today writing this, no one has followed up with me to see how everything looks now. The customer service is non existent with this company. I will definitely be returning to Exquisite Shower Glass in Corona for my next shower remodel, not Glass Guru. They might be good at some glass related things but sliding shower glass doors don't seem to be it.

I ended up selecting a Duralum cover that his company also offers, and I'm glad I did. It's just the look I was going for. I was also impressed with Adam's business model, which is built on quality and efficiency at a very reasonable price without cutting corners or sacrificing customer service. Now for the best part: A guy named Brody, his lead installer. In addition to being a super nice guy, his work is meticulous. The back of my home isn't linear, so there are bump-outs and protrusions, making the installation more difficult and time consuming. This wasn't the slightest challenge for Brody and his team. The finished product is snuggled tightly against my stucco and professionally sealed on the roof to prevent any water dripping through when it rains. I watched him work, measuring and cutting the aluminum to match my home so the fit and finish is far greater than I imagined. The reason for my 1-star rating is because when we were ready to schedule, we called and called and no one ever answered. My husband also tried and left messages that were never returned. I know they are a busy company, but it shouldn't be that hard to schedule once a quote has been provided. Perhaps Doug needs to hire a receptionist to help with phones. We ended up going with another company and I'm so glad we did. They did a wonderful job! They were also Yelp verified and backed by a $2,500 protection by Yelp. We chose a smaller company where we had direct access to the owner and communication was never a problem. The owner was also onsite every day of the job.

Like the expensive guys, Clear Tech uses filtered water for a really nice, no drip or streak clean with no squeegeeing necessary. Nathan was very nice to deal with and came on time. He did a thorough job, removing screens and cleaning tracks like a good window cleaner should. He was very efficient and took less time than those I've hired in the past. I opted just for the exteriors to be cleaned, interiors are an option for an upcharge but not always needed. The price was affordable and reasonable.
