I've heard a lot people mention Culver's as an alternative to the Big 5 (McDs, BK, TB, KFC and Arby's) While it was a nice break from other fast food, it's way overpriced, probably due to its overhead and marketing. We stopped here enroute to the bridge, and just wasn't impressed for all the rave reviews. I mean it is fast food, so I wasn't really expecting it to be spectacular or served on a silver platter, but so many seem to brag about it, when it's comparable to a west coast Fatburger. The location is very clean, the employees are friendly and helpful, but also seem to give you "the look" of like "haven't you been here before?" (When we haven't) We have stopped in a couple of times and made it a point to try some different items. Price is substantially above the Big 5, we're just sick of the Big 5 and spent the extra $20-$25. It's probably good for some, but not for all. We generally don't eat a lot of fast food anyway, so I hope not to turn others off. Just be warned you'll pay more for food at all their locations, and it's not much different than other fast food for the higher price. Love Culver's in general but this was most positively my worst drive through experience ever. There was apparently a tour bus which somehow slowed the drive through lane to a standstill. We were trapped in this lane while additional customers gave up on the drive through and went in for service. We were literally there for 45 minutes but figured if we waited it out we would still get a good meal... No - Our burgers were not warm and our concrete mixer was melted. How did I get cold food and a melted mixer when a good 15 minutes of the wait was after I paid with the Culver's sticker on my mirror? Unacceptable!!! read more

I remember liking Culver's more, but for the price it isn't worth it. The website doesn't have a dine-in option for ordering online, so we used it to figure out our orders bc we find the menu confusing. We ordered after one person and were given a number. The wait was reasonable. The cheese curds were great. The burger was fine, but I find the bun too fluffy. The shake was extremely icy and was thrown out after a few bites. I'd much rather find a 5 guys or even Dairy Queen next time I want a burger, OR I'll hold off on a burger craving til in the vicinity of In-N-Out for the best experience. read more

Order was delivered to table (3 people) with no chicken tenders. I would give more leeway except when I went to the counter to get them, I waited another 10 minutes. Heard one of the gentlemen at the counter ask about 5 minutes in ask how the 4 count chicken tenders are coming... the response was "Oh shit"! Trying to give grace as no one there seemed over 21 but c'mon... they did give me coupon for a free meal and extra tenders but I didn't get to eat them with the fam which is mostly the point. We stopped in West Branch on our way home. The grilled chicken sandwich exceeded my expectations. Juicy and loaded with lettuce and tomato. The real winner was the concrete mixer, I get a chocolate concrete mixer with chocolate cake and fresh cherries and in my own town, they rarely get it right, giving me wild cherries, resulting in a re-order. Aurora, at the window in the West Branch location took the time to clarify which cherries I wanted and my order came out perfect. Well done! read more

The service, however, was sub-standard. Several who ordered after us had their food and finished before we received our order. We ordered to go, it seemed they served those who at in the restaurant much faster. Additionally, we ordered inside to go. There was no good place to wait, and we were told to move to another area, claiming we were in the way. Came around 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Line to order was very short. I ordered a chicken-cashew salad, which came not long after I sat down. The salad was decent. The lettuce (which I took to be prepackaged mixed greens) was fairly fresh, the cashews crunchy and chicken bits tender. I had honey mustard dressing, which may not have been an ideal choice, though I wasn't entirely certain what other choices were, since when I asked the counter clerk what kind of dressing they had he rattled off the longish list so fast I couldn't make out much except an occasional "vinaigrette". He ended with "honey mustard," and I just took that. It was little pasty and quite sweet, but it served its purpose. I guess I can sum up this Culver's the same way: it served its purpose. read more

I have waited almost 3 months before returning to this Culver's. I go to Culver's ALL over the place and have never been to one this bad!! Even the regional manager could not get the order right. Are fries really that expensive that you get 6 to 8 of them in the bag they come in? And if every order is suppose to be cooked fresh then why was my husbands and mine cold? I like my fries hot. If ever there was a Culver's that should or would close I could see this one doing that. There was only one other couple in the dining room the day (Tue) and time (4:30) we were, we will not be back. I'm a sucker for Culver's. It was hard walking into this place because it is laid out exactly like the one back home. If I squinted my eyes I could imagine that I was still home. But you know culvers is always dependable you can get hamburgers chicken sandwiches were my favorite the breaded pork tenderloin. We came here on a Saturday around noon. There was a long line but it moves quickly. If you haven't been to a Culver's before it is a regional burger chain that also offers chicken and fish sandwiches and desserts. Everything tastes fresh and the burgers are excellent for fast food. They have crinkle cut fries which are amazing. We tried the chicken tenders and they are really thin and crispy, which may not be my favorite style, but still good. I didn't try any ice cream this time but it looks worth coming back to try it. This location has a clean appearance and they take pride in the flowers outside. read more

We stopped here on our way to Traverse City. Never been to a Culver's, so wanted to try. Very nice employee took our order. It was very busy, about 5 or 6 people in line; in front of us. We did get order in a timely manner for as busy as it was. Our burgers were small (to say the least). They were like char-burnt all around the edges. Tasted more bun, and everything else on it than burger. We were so disappointed after seeing all the commercials and hearing "how awesome" Culver's burgers are. Was so excited to have Culver's in our area! It's not the fastest for sure, but we overlooked the hour wait times in the drive through, and the messed up order's, because the place was new. Well the other night was the last straw. My husband and I both watched the girl making our frozen custard drop it on the door, the drive through girl chastising her, and then the drive through girl picked it up off the floor and tried giving it to us. So disgusting! If they are willing to do that with customers watching, what else is happening that people don't see?!?! I guess we'll save money by not going there. read more

They gave her a water cup instead of a drink cup and Colleen stormed over screaming at her. She refused to listen to this young lady and ignored her receipt! FIRED! On our drive home from West Branch we decided at would give the local Culver's a try. We had to pull over to wait for our food with a number. No big deal. This is typical for Culver's. Once we got our food, we realized there were no sauces and the burger was made incorrectly. Again, no big deal other than that the order was right on the slip but incorrectly made, it happens. My husband takes the food in and the guy at the counter acts as though we were inconveniencing him. No apology. Once we got the food to the car again, the burger had been made incorrectly a second time. We just lived with it at that point. I would not return to this location. read more

We were towing a trailer through the drive through so we were told to pull around to make room for others and our food would be brought to us. Well god forbid, Sandy Cheeks was sent out to deliver our food and she was barking up the wrong tree. She went so far to call us "stupid idiots" when it was HER coworker that told us to park there. She was complaining it was "too far off a walk" for her poor 'hurt' ankle. Like girl, get someone else to walk the food out if it's really that bad. Disappointed to say the least. We were traveling north for the holiday weekend and realized it was getting late. Pulled off and got in line at the drive through. I did feel bad as it was 5 min before close but hey I made it right??? I waited in line for 25 min and when I finally got to the microphone the lady told me they were closed and that I didn't meet their cut off. I explained I was in line before their scheduled close time and she refused to wait on me. Really sad how I can sit in the drive thru line, watch the tall young man lock the doors at close, and still get turned away. If they weren't going to serve me the boy who locked the door that saw me in line should have had the courtesy to come tell me so I didn't waste my time waiting.
