This is going to cover many trips to the Wake Forest location. A few years back, I got annoyed because they gave me the wrong burger, they contacted me and gave me coupons for a couple of free burgers or combos, they then gave me the wrong burger again. I gave up on them for a while, but 4 of the 6 of us love the crispy fries (yes, I know they're frozen), we enjoy the smash burgers, and find the staff to be friendly. My 11-year-old granddaughter gets any burger plain, just the cheese, meat, and bun, and she LOVES them, my daughter gets the Butter Burger Deluxe, and I switch around, with the mushroom Swiss being one of my favorites. This place gets a 5 not based solely on the food, but the staff, and the owners. If you're not a flat burger fan, people seem to love the fish...........maybe one day I'll get around to trying the chicken! read more

Then the message was they were trying to get the Wake Forest location to contact me. The whole company seems to be a mess and needs to work on their customer service. I was picking up food for my family and another young girl came in to pick food up. Evidently, she was an employee. A cop worker, named Mike, literally betrayed her for coming in on a Friday night when it was busy! He told her she was not allowed to come in on a busy Friday night!!! What kind of CRAP is that? Occasionally, I want to get a fish sandwich from a fast food restaurant without waiting for certain times of the year. After watching a YouTube video about comparing various fast food fish sandwiches, the top one was Culver's. I figured I'd have to try it as I didn't realize they had fish on the menu. They actually have a cod fish sandwich all year around and a walleye sandwich that is more seasonal. The first time I tried their fish, I had the cod sandwich. Wow, I was very impressed. They don't overly process their fish. You get a piece of a filet, not ground-up fish. The fish was very flaky. The breading was nice and crunchy. There was a good breading to fish ratio, where the fish exceeds the amount of breading by a large amount (I like that!). The size of the piece of fish was large. The only thing I would ask for is a little more salt on the fish (thought I'd NEVER say that about a fish sandwich!). Cod itself does not have a lot of flavor to me, so I think a bit more salt could have brought out more of the flavor the fish had. Not to worry though, you can get lemon slices if you like. The buttered bread/bun had a nice texture, not dry, but it is thick. They toasted it on one side so you got a bit of caramelization. It also came with shredded cheddar cheese, tartar sauce and shredded lettuce. The tartar sauce was pretty much standard in quality as other places, the lettuce was green, nice and crisp on my sandwich. The cheese was a bit underwhelming though in texture, which was a bit waxy, without much flavor. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the sandwich. To me, it's still miles better than any other fast food sandwich I've had. I forgot, I also had the onion rings. They were lightly battered and seasoned, I enjoyed them. On another occasion I tried the walleye sandwich. The preparation of the sandwich was the same as the cod sandwich except they used walleye instead of cod. Walleye has more flavor than cod and it definitely came out in the sandwich. If you like walleye, as I do, then you may want to choose that sandwich over the cod when they offer it. They also offer cod platters, with 1, 2 or 3 pieces of fish. You get a choice 2 sides and a dinner roll. I had one of the 3 piece platters and it was a LOT of food. The cost was $17, but for the amount and quality of the meal, to me it was worth it. Plus, I don't believe other fast food places offer seafood platters, at least around here. Overall, I would say if you want a fish sandwich or platter and are ok with going to a fast food restaurant, I say Culver's is the place I would go to. read more

You place your order at the drive thru counter, then you pay, they give you your drink and a number. Ordered the cod meal via uber eats and was sent two hard, overcooked unbreaded pieces of (I guess) fish. Oh and they also gave me a handful of fries. Because I don't live far I took it back and the supervisor(I assume) asked the cashier "what's wrong with it?"before even looking at it. Had he opened the box he would've seen that mess. Burgers are under seasoned, French fries needed salt, fried cheese curds are not really cheese curd (iykyk) and the chicken sandwich was average. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Culver's has the best fast food burgers in the state. Then came the curderburger. It is more than just a big cheese curd placed on your burger. No, this fried cheese patty is much larger than the burger itself. And the cheese just oozes out of every bite, it's really something to behold. I have yet to find a restaurant in North Carolina with juicy Lucy burgers on the menu, so I think this might be the closest you can get to that kind of flavor sensation. Culvers is truly the best. The food is delicious, the employees are courteous, and, most importantly, it's dog friendly in the outside eating area. We came here to eat the other day and a nice young gentleman brought out our food. He saw we had a dog (Barry) with us, and immediately went inside to grab a cup with ice cold water for Barry to enjoy. We didn't even ask him to do this - he went out of his way to be accommodating. We needed up eating at Culver's because the place that I get my nails done was right up the street. I am so happy that I stopped in. I have only had Culver's ice cream so I was happy that I could enjoy lunch there with my son. The restaurant has a private parking lot with lots of parking if you don't want dine in you can go through the drive through. The restaurant is bigger than it looks like on the outside. Where you check out is the front and then the dining area is in the back. The restaurant was very clean and the drink area was really clean. I ordered from their $5 dollar menu and I ordered my son a kids meal (grilled cheese + fries). The good thing about their fries is that they make them to order so when I got them they were hot and our food was too. We enjoyed our food very much. I ended up paying around $11 for everything. They also have outdoor seating which is where we sat but there are TON of flies out there so be aware in the hotter months. The guy who brought us our food as well as the cashier was really nice and helpful. Overall good burger place, tasty food. Had never been to a Culver's. Well, we (self, wife, son and grandson) came in and left totally sold on it. Their menu is great, although we only had custard, but I would certainly come in for lunch or a snack. The portions were generous and the toppings likewise. My wife and I decided to make the 35 minute interstate journey to Wake Forest to actually sample the cuisine that everyone is raving about. We each ordered a deluxe cheeseburger, my wife had a mint shake, and I had a raspberry shake. We split an order of onion rings. The burgers were quite excellent but different from other local establishments. The onion rings had a beer batter like crust and were excellent as well. The shakes were OMG! Extremely thick, so much so you had to enjoy with the provided spoon but eventually it melted enough to use a straw. The flavor of each shake was not over the top and not excessively sweet like some places. I only gave them four stars because it was our first visit and there is much more on their menu to sample so I will hold off on the fifth star until the next visit. So we were on a random ride to NC (ended up going to see family we haven't seen pre-COVID so it worked out perfectly). In reviewing burger spots in the area we ended up here and glad we did. Now as some of my fellow Yelpers stated the menu was a beast and hard to follow which lead to somewhat of an attitude by the cashier (which was also mentioned) but once I asked if he was ok and followed with this is our very first time here his attitude changed slightly. I really wanted to like Culver's. I really, really did, but unfortunately we were less than thrilled with the butter burgers. The staff is nice and able to handle how hectic it still is as the new kid in town, but the food was just meh IMHO. First off, think Steak n Shake or Freddy's (in Durham and Cary), paper thin smashed down burgers on a flat top grill which are not my thing. And the butter on the bun is there, but overall tasteless and serve as no flavor addition to the thin burgers. Oh, if you don't tell them you want toppings on your burger they won't ask and it'll arrive plain, so I had to bring mine back for a redo. The fried Wisconsin cheese curds taste more like the seasoning in the breading than the cheese itself. Once I pulled off the breading I could taste that distinctive Wisconsin cheese flavor and that was good, but what it took to get there I'd rather not do again. My dining partner who loves custard and goes to Goodberry's regularly did say she liked the custard much better here at Culver's. Unfortunately flavor wise there's only three choices, chocolate, vanilla or the flavor of the day. You can dress it all up with all kinds of toppings, but still, just three flavors of the custard. One highlight was the cute little kid in full Culver's uniform busing the tables. He was probably no older than eleven or twelve, very serious about his job and cute as can be. Out and about on a Sunday afternoon and headed towards WF on Capital, my bride spied a sign that said "Culver's" and she started getting all kinds of excited about the place. I purposely passed the turn that would take us there because I wanted to finish my business first with getting my kitchen back-splash ordered. I bluffed about going home, but it was obvious I had been talked into some frozen custard goodness. The frozen custard flavor of the day was blackberry cobbler. Service was quick and our order was walked out to us within about five minutes. The frozen custard was pretty darned delicious! Tabletops were not clean - that was the downside of this visit.
