I came here for a father - daughter date it was great ! Burgers were tasty, service was very good and background music was not very loud so we could chat without any issues .... On a different table my wife and my son were doing the same and they also enjoyed it ! We'll be back !

This build your own bowl was just not good. I had high hopes - picking two proteins and a lettuce base with tomatoes. What I got looked like dog food! Almost no tomatoes, very little lettuce base, the proteins didn't taste right or good. I asked for Swiss and there was a melted clump in the middle. Really crummy meal, and expensive, too! $16 for a meal that ended up not being eaten. We will stick with Five Guys.

Wayback Burgers was my choice for lunch. It is in the Wheatfield Shopping Center in Wake Forest. Parking was easy enough to find at lunch. I had checked out the menu online so was puzzled at first when only part of the menu was listed on the wall. The full menus are hidden in front of the cash register if you don't want to order one of the pricey burgers. You could also order on the website. I was greeted when I entered by both employees and given some time to look over the menu. I went with the single patty as I wasn't sure if the double would be too much for me. I was happy with the single and liked I could customize it with cheddar cheese and tomato and lettuce. I added on fries and a drink and thought the amount of fries was very generous. It was a good burger and the single was a good size for me. My name was taken for my order and I thought I'd be called when it was ready and it was but it was also delivered to the table. Wayback Burgers has a good amount of tables inside and more tables on a patio. Although it seemed most were ordering to go or just picking up.

Restaurant was clean upon entry and service was attentive. They were a bit busy and probably understaffed for the traffic that was there when we visited. Food was made fresh when I ordered so there's a bit of a longer wait than some might expect. I think it's a good burger spot especially for the price. It's not a "McDonald's burger" :) I ordered the Carolina burger. I'm always a bit skeptical of people's slaw and chili around here because it's the south, we like our slaw and chili a certain way but it was very good. My only suggestion would be to grill the buns to give it that extra flavor but that's just a personal preference of mine.

Clean restaurant, good fresh food for a chain burger type place. It took a little longer than a fast food type place which was a good sign that it was being made fresh. Staff was friendly and I had no issues using the Free Burger with $10 purchase you get if you download the app. Parents of young kids - I noted 2 high chairs and this is an acceptable atmosphere / place to bring children.

Wayback Burgers is a relatively new addition to the recently completed Wheatfield Shopping Plaza on Forestville Road in Wake Forest. It's nice, it's clean and there is ample parking. The staff were friendly and attentive. My order came out quick and was brought to the table. I went with the A-1 Burger with a side of onion rings (breath mint needed after). It was good and tasty. The onions rings could have been a bit crisper and they needed more seasoning. They offer an array of dipping sauces for them. I went with the chiplote. It went well with the rings. Overall a 3.75. I'll definitely be back to try one of the other burgers soon and maybe the free milk shake I have for signing up for the text alerts.

Went to Wayback Burger for the first time. Had a huge hamburger craving and wanted to try something new. I was a little taken aback at the prices, so was really hoping for a great burger. The burgers were good, but nothing special to write home about. We got singles as we thought this would be enough, with no sides. Either get double or a side of you are hungry. You walk up to the counter to order and I do have to say that every was very clean and I was promptly asked for my order. I let them know I had ordered on line. The did this while sitting in the parking lot as I didn't just want to stand in front of a menu reading everything before I ordered. Glad I went in almost immediately as the Yelp app told me my food would be ready in 25 minutes. They weren't busy at all so my food was ready fast. All in all not bad, but there are much better places to get a great burger for the same price (or less).

A new outlet of chain Wayback Burgers is open in Wake Forest. Located in the new(ish) Wheatfield Commons strip center on Rogers Branch Road. Stopped in for lunch during the soft opening. It's a small shop, with a dozen tables. Order at the counter at the back, dine-in food is delivered to the table. It's a basic menu - a couple of pre-configured burgers, or build your own. Fries and onion rings plus shakes. Service is friendly and quick. Food is prepared to order. The team is well staffed and despite the fact that the shop was busy, time from order to service was less than 10 minutes. I tried the Classic. A nice sized patty is prepared medium/well - just a little pink. It's topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, chopped raw onion and pickle. Meat prepared perfectly. Toppings crisp and fresh and the whole thing is piping hot when served. Can't beat a well-executed burger. Fries are skin-on, thick cut. Lightly salted. Served nice and crispy, as fries should be. Fair warning - this is a fairly expensive burger. Not exactly at bargain at $8.29. Delicious, yes. A good spot for the occasional splurge, yes. A regular stop for a quick burger at lunch? Probly not.

Decent. Not amazing. Burger was good but nothing special about it. I got the sautéed onions and Swiss cheese with lettuce tomato and mayo. Get a free milkshake if you sign up for emails and texts.

Service is quick and friendly. Ordering online is straightforward, only 10 minutes till food was ready. There are a half dozen tables for eat-in, plus a few outside for warmer weather. Tried a Mediteranean platter, which includes a chicken kabob, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, and tabouli. Also comes with warm pita and a slice of baklava. The kabob is spiced and grilled to perfection. A nice crunch on the outside, hot and juicy on the inside. The hummus is creamy and garlicky, perfect for dipping the chicken and the pita. Tabouli is crisp and fresh, very tart. The only minor disappointment was the baklava. I was in the mood for Greek-style, dripping in honey. Taza is Lebanese-styke, more buttery and creamy. Still good but not what I was expecting. The falafel platter also delicious. Unique donet-shaped falafel and delightfully crispy and we'll seasoned. The Greek salad is missing the kalamata olives, but does include sliced green AND black loves. Tahini sauce for dipping is excellent. All in all a good meal. There's growing restaurant competition in Wake Forest. I think this one is a keeper!

Our server, Dawn, was easily one best servers I've had in a long time. Knowledgeable about the menu, made a point to explain everything and no questions were too obscure. We had a variety of dishes, and out of everything the pork schnitzel wasn't really a schnitzel if you've ever had one in Germany, it was more like a breaded, fried bone-in pork chop, really good but not a traditional schnitzel. The asparagus, the risotto, the pasta, the chicken were all absolutely superior. The stars were the appetizers, especially the kung pao fried Brussels, those are a meal by themselves, some of the best I've ever had! The fried burrata cheese, worth the drive to Wake Forest. Their Cherry cobbler one word: YUM! The Farm Table is a roomy restaurant with tables well suited for family style dining and while a bit loud, certainly not uncomfortably so Totally recommended and thank me later for those Brussel Sprouts!

After a couple bites I gave up. When the server came by and offered me a different entree. She recommended the Lamb Kebobs. They were also dry and tasteless. It was a bittersweet moment and I'm glad we chose Cape Fear. Kelly was our waitress and she was outstanding, truly making my last meal at Cape Fear a special one (being that they're a very small chain in NC, I'm unsure if I'll ever be back). The drinks were constantly filled and her service was one of the best I have ever had at any restaurant. I ordered a bunch of food, knowing it would be my last time ever having their risotto, clam chowder, and hushpuppies, along with their delicious fried seafood platter. I had told Kelly I was moving so she made it a spectacular visit and went above and beyond. I will miss Cape Fear. It reminds me of The Hamptons. It's casual but classy. It was a fantastic meal with phenomenal service with an amazing friend. Truly, what could be better?

Zero stars. I could…read morebe wrong, but I believe this is the first "terrible" review I've left on Yelp. We just left this "restaurant" after horrible service before even finalizing our entree orders. This was our first time trying it, and we were excited because we love all kinds of seafood. The restaurant was not very busy. The waitress was friendly and helpful at first. We ordered a mini-crab cake appetizer, which was brought out promptly. At that point we began placing our entree orders. My wife ordered a founder basket. I then ordered the shrimp taco meal. My order was to come with 2 tacos. So, I made a simple request: one with grilled shrimp and one with fried shrimp (since they serve both). I then received a lengthy, stammering explanation of how "they" don't let them do that. I offered to pay the higher of the two prices and explained, since it was our first time there, I was hoping to try different options. However, she maintained this could not be done. So, I requested to speak with a manager. She seemed surprised, but said, " okay," and went to the back. For the next 5 minutes, I waited (a bit annoyed, since I was hungry and knew or order was not even in process). After a little more than 5 minutes, she came back and said, "you can still talk to a manager if you would like, but they asked me to explain ..." Then she went into an explanation that didn't make a lot of sense. I also, at this point was not interested in explanations. It was clear to me that this restaurant has no interest in accommodating even the simplest of customers requests. I asked her for our check and told her we would finish our appetizer, pay, and leave. She told me she could get the manager, but at that point, I told her there was no need. It was clear to me the manager tried to avoid having the initial discussion in the first place, hoping the waitress could get me to accept the answer and move on. We paid and left. I'm usually a very generous tipper (maybe be even too generous sometimes). I try to error in the direction of more, but less. My wife is the same, had hung worked in the service industry, including waitressing for many years. In this case, I left no tip, and wrote a brief explanation on the merchant receipt. I had noticed some of the "don't recommend" reviews on Yelp prior to checking it out, but sometimes I view those as one-offs. In this case, I found myself agreeing wholeheartedly with the reviews indicating they will never be back. Even if ultimately I could not get what I requested, and was even still unconvinced as to a legitimate reason, had this been handled with even a modicum of respect for a paying customer, I likely would have refrained from reviewing at all, instead of this negative review. At no point during this situation was I rude, loud, argumentative, or inappropriate in any way. When a manager doesn't care, that attitude permeates the business. As for the mini crab-cakes, they were okay, but not what I would have expected for the price.

When he brought the bread and oil, he was able to take balsamic vinegar and draw the number 25 on the dish (we are soon to celebrate 25 years of marriage). Our 1st course was a plate of Crustini, prosciutto, provolone, burrata and balsamic marinated tomatoes. No problem finishing that. The atmosphere of this place is semi-casual. We were tucked in a little corner of a semi-private room, but could hear the patrons around us. Yet, it was not bothersome. For entrees, we both got pasta. My husband ordered the spinach noodled lasagna, which he told me was great. He couldn't finish his portion. As for me, I got the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. You can tell they used San Marzano tomatoes in their sauce. So good. I too, could not finish, so we get to eat this again. Make a reservation so you don't take a chance as a walk-in or bar patron. We loved that they said our name when we arrived at the proper time. Our waiter told us that the owner is from The Bronx, but he traveled to Bologna, Italy, and gets inspired by the dishes he tried there. Menu changes daily. We love that he went and treated us to some special treats (the dessert was a Limoncello tart. The top of the custard was bruleed, and it was served with tiny spoons and a dollop of real whipped cream. The plate was sauced with raspberry puree. Oh, the bottom was a crunch crust to add texture and flavor. Last thing, my Moscato D'Asti was imported from Italy. I like the pear flavor that comes through while drinking this chilled, bubbly wine. I hope you go there and try someone from the new menu. It will be nice to go again.

Interior is essentially the same, with a dining room to the right, a bar area in the center, with a few tables adjacent to the bar. It's bright, clean and bustling. Our server orchestrated the meal perfectly: as ordered and in the right order. Glasses full. Thank you! I tried the yellowfin tuna. Hi quality tuna is grilled to perfection - wonderful crust with cool pink rare center, sliced thin, sashimi style, bathed in pistachio and basil puree. The tuna is served atop a blend of orzo with mixed grilled veggies and artichoke hearts. Honestly, I can't think of how I would improve this entree. Really, really good. I was fortunate enough to snag a bite of the Chicken Encore. It's chicken franchaise-esq. A succulent breast, simmered in wine/lemon /butter sauce, adorned with mozzarealla and served atop risotto infused with garlic and spinach. The sauce is tangy and rich, the chicken is moist and flavorful, and both are complemented by the creamy, garlicky risotto. Another really tasty dish. There was barely enough room, but couldn't resist a bit of dessert. A delicious torte, topped with carmelized sugar (like creme brulee), drizzled with raspberry sauce. Sweet, tart and just enough to satisfy that sweet tooth. Recommend Encore for an upscale meal that is unpretentious. Food, service and atmosphere are great. Go!
