Culver's is known for their frozen custard and its other fast food delights, so this was my choice for dinner on a casual Friday evening in October 2017. I was staying across the street at the Wyndham hotel near the Chicago O Hare international airport and spotted this one literally across the street. This meal option can be your quintessential option if you want to go cheap on your travel tab or just if you are in the area in your daily commutes. For me, I liked the fact that it was one of those things where you want to try something else than the usual McDonalds and Burger King. I arrived here around 4:30pm after checking into my hotel and thought that this place is very nice alternative to anything that my stomach already had experienced. My stomach was pleased and encourage you to come here to check things out if you grow tired of the usual standard fare. For the most part though, I did think that it was generally good and average. While the food was different, it was decently priced, but felt a bit overwhelming with the choices presented to me. The overall experience here at Culver's at Chicago O Hare international airport was as good as any major fast food restaurant that can be. The ambiance was usually good and hopping. The inspiration I got from Culver's was that of their frozen custard, which I got a pint of before leaving the establishment. This particular Culver's restaurant location I visited is at 7050 Mannheim Road, literally a couple of miles from the airport. They except major credit cards, so that's always a good thing for anyone who does not like to carry cash. But they also except cash anyway. Because this restaurant is nestled with other restaurants in a big complex, basically The parking options here are quite limitless, unless you come here doing peak meal times or shopping times of the year. The beauty part of it is parking is free, so usually that's like most places anyway. Culver's fast food restaurant is basically your quintessential place to have a quick meal at a minimal expense. This place is like, as mentioned previously, Is very much like your average fast food joint. At least I'm Beyonce can't be quiet and calm, quiet peaceful, depending on when you come and dine here. The service here is quite standard at the counter so you can get whatever you want and be OK with that. I did like the fact that they had prepackaged frozen yogurt pints in a nearby freezer, just like that ice cream stores like Baskins and Robbins. For me though, I felt like this place is pretty good. I basically had a burger combo with fries and a medium drink. Not something that I usually a.m. for mayor with because this restaurant chain is not found in Hawaii, where I am from. However, that frozen custard is pretty solid and I took a pint to go and had it after my meal in my hotel room while watching television. That was the bomb! I really like their chocolate, although I usually get that anyway and not really any other flavors when I say speak to me. Still, it was a pleasant alternative to the usual fast food nation fare. Omg the food is soooo good, total heart attack! Came here for a midnight snack and had to try the frozen custard. Every day of the week this location has a special and on this particular day the medium size shake was half off, so of course we HAD to get that! Got the blueberry frozen custard shake with caramel. This location is great! Food sometimes won't be fresh but it's rare! I come here after work and the food is always delicious to me.

Ultimately, I think I like the price better than the food. Can't really complain about a full meal (burger, fries, and drink) for about $6 these days. I grabbed lunch here recently and I don't know what it was about a butter burger that sounded enticing. Got a single bacon butter cheeseburger - which was okay. Nothing about it really screamed delicious. The crinkle cut fries weren't any better than cafeteria fries in high school. Being from Chicago there is a part of me that has a natural aversion to Wisconsin. However that doesn't pertain to food. Culver's makes some awesome Wisconsin inspired items and plenty of cheesy options. This location is pretty solid in terms of food quality and speed of service. Culver's is known for Butterburgers and Frozen Custard - both are very good here. The burgers are thin and get a nice char on the flattop. Buns are always fresh and they have a nice ratio of toppings to burger. They have a variety of different combinations so you are sure to find something that looks good. Cheese curds are a must for side dish - so good! They have unique fast food offerings like pot roast, soups and dinner specials. The frozen custard is very rich and they make a blizzard type dessert that I feel is better than DQ. There are daily specials that they flash on the LED screen in front - be sure if stop in for a deal! They sure advertise a lot in Chicagoland for somewhat limited locations. Culver's has an outstanding customer service! All of their staff members are great! They are so friendly, nice, decent, and they care to all of their customers. Their place is always busy but they can still manage to guide and assist all of their customers. They are professional and they can literally work so fast. They treated me with compassion. I really feel welcomed. I really love this Culver's! Their food is so amazing and delicious. Their menu is so huge, lots of variety to choose, and they also have so many unique foods that you can only see and try at their place. I am really surprised about the tastes of their food, especially their burgers and nuggets, and also the burger is overload. It has big meats, veggies, lots of dressing, and right portion of cheese. Culver's is very clean place, bright, and the interior has a great atmosphere that all of the customers will absolutely feel and enjoy. My favorite Culver's location, for its ease of accessibility, and dining room area. This spot is open until 11pm. Is always clean, and servers are always friendly. Ooooooh but the butterburgers. Finally got around to stopping in and came just for a milk shake. I love mint chocolate chip milkshakes. They are my favorite and when I saw on their website that's a milkshake flavor they specifically list... sign me up! Total let down. Through the drive thru. While the flavor was fine, the Rosemont location gave me a milkshake that was mint milk. It was not a shake. It was liquid with chips at the bottom of the cup, not floating around because again, it was liquid. I didn't notice it til I was already driving and couldn't turn back around. They gave it to me this way, it's cold out today, but even if it were hot it would not melt to pure liquid that fast either (minutes). The chocolate chips were so big, barely any of them fit through the straw so I could barely even drink the thing. If this is how they serve their shakes, how do they serve their food? I always said, if Culver's ever opened up near me, I'd be twice the man I am now. Well, it's time to put that to the test! Today was their grand opening at the former Krispy Kreme location along Mannheim. Of course, I had to get there with my wife and 2 kids to give them a try. As expected, the place was crowded and well-staffed. A greeter at the door even let people in. Pretty much all the seats were taken except for a few tables in the middle. The whole place is pretty spacious inside, seemingly larger than the Mount Prospect store that's been around for years. And as it happens on the first day that a restaurant opens, mistakes do occur. What started as a 2-scoop raspberry/pineapple sundae and two single-scoop raspberry sundaes for us all ended up being a single-scoop raspberry/pineapple sundae and a 2-scoop raspberry sundae, with the 3rd sundae missing. The guy who brought us our sundaes quickly addressed the problem and we even got an extra free raspberry sundae out of it. The interior of the restaurant has a cozy dining area in the middle with the look of a living room, complete with a fireplace and a big flat-screen TV on the wall. Yes, there will be hiccups on the first day, but they were remedied promptly. I could see the vigilant eye of the store manager as he roamed the floor, watching how things were going and making sure everyone was being served right. We got our flavor calendars and now there's a few more "holidays" marked on our calendar at home. They go something like: "Red raspberry" on the 24th, followed by "Peanut Butter Cup" on the 25th. And don't forget "Cappuccino Almond Fudge" on the 4th of May... And for you diabetics out there, beware the "Culver's Curse" and plan your insulin accordingly. Holy mother of God. I have a confession, fellow Yelpers. I love burgers (read: OBSESSED WITH burgers). For those of you not familiar with my love affair with beef patties, read my review of Pine 22. Whoever invented the butter burger should be immortalized in stone and possibly have a center of worship built around them. I cannot stress enough how mandatory it is for you to order this. A perfectly toasted and buttered bun on top of a juicy burger with delicious toppings? Count me in. The service was great, they handled our group of around 30 really well, especially with remembering all of the complex orders we all had. Great malt taste, fast, polite and prompt service - really couldn't ask for anything more. I love Culver's, just not this one. Every time I come here my order gets messed up. Once they messed up 5 times in one order..... ordered the cod fish sandwich and an ice cream cone. The lady rung me up for a shrimp basket and I had to correct her. Then she rang up my sandwich as a meal even though I repeated just the sandwich, she even decided I wanted a Pepsi. This was my first time at Culver's so my expectation were kind of high since my friends said it was like In-n-out. Saidly to say i did not think the burger was as good as an in-n-out burger. Now the burger wasnt bad but nothing really special. I did like the fact that they did have chululu hot sauce which you dont typically find in a burger restaruant. I did like the fries because they were crinkle cut fries that came out nice and hot and crispy but not greasy. They went well with my friends chocolate shake but was also pretty good. The shakes were better than in-n-out shakes maily becuase they had other toppings you could get. Overall not a bad experience but nothing really special in my book. read more

So, get a scoop of their vanilla custard- and drop that into a drink cup and make your own root beer float- it's killer. FINALLY there is a Culver's near me!!! Only 15-20 minutes away from my home is that magical place where I can get a juicy butterburger and frozen custard that makes my taste buds go YAAAY!!! The restaurant is clean and shiney and even has a fireplace in the centre! You know for those long winter nites when you just crave that frozen custard. I noticed that the decor is a bit fancier than other locations, i wonder if that is because this is the O'Hare location. Gosh, I love this place. consistently great service consistently great food consistently clean Not many fast food places do friendly faces warmly greet you at the door, almost always here! I love love love the juicy delicious butter burgers (that TASTE LIKE MEAT-- like ground beef, not mystery meat!) Also love the cod sandwich, for the flaky white meat that is of good quality. Fantastic NOT GREASY onion rings, and the rare times I get custard....love that too. A few times have taken their ice cream (oops, custard!) sandwiches home. Love em. The condiment area is ALWAYS kept clean and that is something important to me. Staff asks you if you need anything and come by to take your trays more often than not. After going to a great sushi restaurant, we drove my friend home (near O'hare). For dessert, we had a few options. However, we all kind of decided to give Culver's a go over Steak and Shake. Upon ordering, the drive through order taker seemed very confused with what we were asking. I simply wanted to try the mint custard (seasonal as it was close to St Patty's day). According to her, it something that cannot be tasted. They make it to order. So, after I ordered the smallest serving (like a small cup), I realized she was full of crap. The order was a scoop of vanilla custard with mint drizzle over it. Hell, she could have given me a spoon full of the custard with the drizzle. It was ok.. I should have gotten a mixer with like oreos or something. The only other time I've been to a Culver's was to get their butter burger. It was awesome!! This visit to this Culver's location was extraordinary - and not in a good way. We have visited dozens of locations and this is the outlier. Service was slow this afternoon. The cashier did not know how to operate the register, each sale needing a manager. The amount of grease on the double burger was flood worthy. Didn't even bother with the fries of the value basket I'm not sure I actually ordered. (Did I ask for a drink?) The idea of flavor of the day is to include the flavor in the custard. Vanilla is great, but there's a reason it's not on the reader board outside. All employees seemed in slow motion, including the kitchen. We observed orders and waiting customers needing intervention. Then there was the scoop. I understand profits and all, but in other Culver's (all locally owned) the amount of custard in the single scoop dish was generous. Not here. Servings elsewhere have a delicious dome well above the lip of the dish. Here the dome was slight and barely crested the lip. Enough with the scale! (yes, it was employed which illustrated how much it's ignored at other locations - hope that continues.) The banner proclaiming this location was a nominee for best crew of 2014 calls into question the judgement of the committee. More training, more training, more training. Steak n Shake is around the corner, been there since 1999. Not sure this Culver's will enjoy such longevity. read more

I come here occasionally on my way to/from O'Hare because of the proximity. I actually like Culver's a lot and they are my preferred fast food if I'm on a road trip, but this particular location is a mess. The lines are extremely long, there are not very many employees, and even fewer employees who are trained. I don't expect fantastic service at a fast-food restaurant, but I do expect that the food will come out warm and the order will be correct. Unfortunately, the last time we were here, the kitchen was having an extremely difficult time getting orders correct- the people cooking kept asking the people taking orders in the front "Is that right? What is this? What was this supposed to be again?". I'll probably come back because it's just so close to the airport, convenient, and clean, but I would recommend that they invest in some training for their employees if they want to optimize their efficiency. read more

My coworkers and I have been eating lunch here on Fridays for nearly 2 years. In those 2 years not once have I had a dining experience that was anything less than absolutely superb. From the friendly staff, to the phenomenal photos of the city of Chicago on the walls, to the warm burning roaring fireplace I am already sold before any food is even served to me. Now onto the food, this food is nothing short of spectacular and is warm, comforting, and reminds me of my childhood.
