Jumbo hot dog, fries and drink
Huna M.

I was excited to discover a Portillo's located near ORD airport! My hotel was within walking distance of this location, so it was perfect for me! Although it's pick-up only, the staff here did an amazing job delivering the same experience as if you were to dine in. I ordered ahead so my meal was ready to go when I arrived. Inside was clean and pick up orders were well organized. I ordered the jumbo hot dog, fries and a drink. When it comes to a glizzy, I'm a mustard and onion type of gal. Nothing more, nothing less. However, this Chicago styled hotdog packed with a pickle, mustard, relish, onions, celery salt, tomatoes and peppers changed me forever!! I don't think I've ever had that many condiments on a hotdog EVER but when I tell you every condiment on that dog contributed to its perfection-- I ain't lying! So flavorful! It was like a party in my mouth!

This shiny new Rosemont spot is still settling into its groove, but let's be honest--I'm a lifelong Portillo's fan, even if I recently made the strategic misstep of Googling the calories in a beef-and-sausage combo. (Rookie move. I regret everything.) My standard order? A fully loaded sandwich with BOTH hot and sweet peppers because balance matters. And while this location is basically designed for quick walk-ins and fast pickups, its proximity to O'Hare unlocks a whole new level of life satisfaction: grabbing your sandwich, strolling onto your flight, and watching the cabin fill with the unmistakable smell of Portillo's. Cue the jealous side-eyes and the inevitable: "Wait... what are you eating?" This place is part of our Chicago ritual. My husband and I never--never--skip Portillo's. The sausage alone has flavor that could win global diplomacy awards. Truly unmatched anywhere on the planet, and I've done my homework. They're still ironing out a few kinks, but the food hits the mark, the convenience is clutch, and I'll absolutely be back for my next pre-flight flex.

I was staying at a nearby hotel. Just prior to checking out and heading over to the airport via the MMF across the street, I placed an online order on their convenient easy-to-use mobile app. My order was for 2 Chicago dogs with everything on them. They were bagged and ready for pick-up when I arrived. The food was on par with any Portillo's that I've visited in the past. This was my first time at a "pick up" only Portillo's. There was no dining area, only pick-up on foot or drive-thru via car.

The company ordered from here, everything was really good. Except I felt the beefs were very tiny. But I like how everything arrived nicely and well packaged. Great service. Pretty cool location from what I saw in pics.

Quick and friendly service at Portillo's! The Italian beef was delicious -- tender, flavorful, and perfectly wet just how I like it. Definitely coming back! This location is pickup only.

Tamale

Fast casual Italian beef spot. Pretty decent New to town, and saw that these guys offered a lot of the staples for a Chicago food run. So made a stop to give this place a try. Got a chicago dog, a polish sausage, a italian beef sandwich, and a tamale because why not? Also a giant vat of cheese sauce to dunk stuff in, because it was offered. Weakest thing was the tamale. it was this weird mushy flavor profile. the masa and the beef had the same texture, and the masa was pasty. I was not a fan of that tamale. The strongest was the polish sausage. That thing was massive, charred well, and had plenty of toppings. That was a meal in of itself, and the execution was on point. Get me some deep fried perogis with some sour cream to dip and I would've been a very happy man. The italian beef and chicago dog were good but nothing special. I liked the softness of the bun and the topping to meat ratio of both. The italian beef was a bit too soggy and the meat was overcooked. but the flavor was solid and the portion was generous. The chicago dog had all the right toppings and a good charred hot dog, but it wasn't split and grilled, and I prefer natural casings to get that snap. Price was okay for the amount we ordered. it's very much set up to be a chic fil a but with sandwiches and hot dogs. It's not bad for what it is, and you would be hard pressed to find better representations of Chicago classics. It's good, but not what I would consider a destination spot. It's a place to go to if you're in the area, but it's a good one to try

I had never been to a Portillo's. We were traveling and my companion dragged me across the parking lot from our hotel. It was late so I ordered a shake and cheesy fries. My first bite into the fries took me back to my college days in Buffalo... so good. I got a small chocolate malt shake - it was huge. I drank 1/3 and the rest melted overnight.

It was the slowest pick up line ever! Which made no sense because it wasn't as busy as the other regular Portillo.

Rupert told us that our order would take approximately 10-20 minutes, so we stepped away and waited for our order. What was concerning was that shortly afterward, a white customer came in and his order was taken right away. This was confusing and frustrating because we had just been told that we needed to wait. My friend then had to line up again separately just to purchase her drink. While we were eating, another Asian group came into the store and lined up at the cashier to place their order. Rupert again told them that they needed to wait approximately 20 minutes before he would take their orders. Seeing this happen to another group made us even more concerned about the way customers were being treated. Later, while we were eating, our group was talking and laughing together. We understand that we may have been somewhat loud, but instead of politely asking us to lower our voices, Rupert increased the volume of the store's sound system to a level that made it difficult for us to have a conversation. We found this behavior unnecessary and disrespectful. I want to emphasize that the other employees were very nice, courteous, and helpful. My concern is specifically with Rupert's behavior and the way he interacted with customers. A manager should set a positive example for the younger employees he supervises. Leadership should demonstrate professionalism, respect, fairness, and good customer service. It is disappointing to see a manager behave in a way that makes customers feel unwelcome, especially when the employees working under him were doing their best to be kind and helpful. I am asking your company to please review what happened 09/17/2026, including how orders were handled and Rupert's interactions with customers. I would also appreciate knowing what steps will be taken to ensure that customers are treated consistently, respectfully, and professionally regardless of their background. I hope the company takes this complaint seriously. No customer should leave a store feeling that they were treated differently or deliberately made uncomfortable by a manager.

A short fuse and a close call…read more After Emily and I checked in to our hotel room, we wanted to stretch our legs and see if there was anything nearby for some beer and some food. Turns out, Short Fuse was right up the road and a 5 minute walk got us there. For a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but not dead, so we got seated right away. We ordered some beer and took a look at the menu. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them. As I refuse to pay extra for sports channel subscriptions over my basic Comcast cable TV package, I didn't have TBS for this particular game or series, and decided to come here hopeful of watching a festive home field series clinching celebration on this night. It was a festive and fun and tense night, and I had a blast until things fell apart in the 6th inning. Beacon Tap has a great reputation as a good and long standing local sports bar and it lived up to it. In fact, I learned that on Bears football Sundays, you need to reserve a spot here as it's so packed, you can't just walk in and watch a game. I sat at the bar and ended up having a couple of delectable Maplewood Son of Juice IPA drafts (at a reasonable $7.25 apiece) and had a blast with fellow fans, two of whom were regulars here. Tim was the fine and attentive bartender and he kept the beers flowing and it was a packed bar and dining room as expected. I left after the 6th inning when the game was decided and the Sox eventually lost 9-5. It would have been so cool to celebrate a major sports win in a sports bar along with the comaraderie, something I've never experienced, but alas, it will probably have to be in another life, ugh. Come to think of it, I have been at a winning major championship game, the Bears' 1985 NFC championship game when they beat the Rams 24-0 at Soldier Field, but being at a rowdy sports bar is indeed another thing. They have a quite nice beer list, and the usual pub food offerings. I learned that their popular 1/2 price pizza night is Tuesdays. They have a big parking lot to handle their big weekend crowds. I really wished they had a grilled chicken option for the split top bun. It's a shame that they don't. The offerings look like corny food sold at carnivals, street fests or a theme park. Not wanting to go extreme I decided on a Philly chicken sandwich. It was served in a thin, long, hoagie type bun which I don't think is Turano. The chicken was drier than it should have been and the bun was rubbery. When the filling lacks freshness, good cheeses or sauces, it becomes a waste of stomach space to continue consuming. All in all, I gave this quiet business some money to keep the lights on till warmer seasons. The cashier told me that is when they are busier.
