This was quite a bash that Guzman y Gomez conducted on their grand opening today. The crowd, including ourselves, were attracted by the $5 deal on burritos and burrito bowls. We came in at about 4:45pm and there were police directing traffic, advertising sign holders standing along busy Mannheim Rd, a 3-man band playing at the entrance, and also a modest queue to enter and order. The place was hopping and it was festive for sure. I was told GYG does this at all of the grand openings for their stores, and that's cool! Well, we ordered a carryout burrito with beef brisket and pinto beans and also a burrito bowl with flank steak and pinto beans. Even with so many customers, we still had only a 10 minute wait for the food prep. The burrito and burrito bowl were tip-top fresh and delicious and at $5 were 40% off of their regular $8.30 price. There were a ton of employees all busy and looking coordinated and GYG did a good job being prepared for the all day crush today.
