First of all there are two Chik Fil A's in Niles. I'm reviewing the one on 8575 Golf Road. My sister and I ordered the broiled chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwiches were delicious and the waffle fries were out of this world - all hot and delivered to our table. Just as important was the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the facility. We met the owner who helped us pick up our trash when leaving. My sister who is in the military thought the owner was also military as he was so polite and helpful as well as running an establishment that dotted the i's and crossed the t's in all categories. I ordered online and went inside, grabbed a table and updated the table number on the app. It took about 15 minutes to get my food, even though it wasn't busy inside or via the drive through. Not sure if they had limited staff or not, but a lot slower than other Chick-fil-A's that I've visited. Let me start by saying I USED to love Chick-fil-a. I have on 3 separate occasions I've had issues with this restaurant. The last time will be the last time. I go thru drive thru and by the time you get home there is always things missing from the order. When you try to call first you wait and wait only to get transferred to some central customer service (not the store) Then they don't offer any resolutions other than come back to store to get missing items. To make things worse This time we ordered Cobb salads with chicken, and not only did we not get any dressings that we specifically ordered, but my fiancée ended up in URGENT CARE WITH FOOD POISONING! I came in the spring and placed an order via the mobile app. I continue to get coupons, notices about charity events, and updates from this location via the app. Over the years, I have been to hundreds of Chick Fila Restaurants. Tried this place as it recently opened and is closer than other locations. You can tell they're still working the logistical kinks out since ordering didn't go as smoothly as you would expect; I had to wait as the employee had to ask around about how to input things, but it's a small detail that should be resolved over time (hopefully). But the chicken sandwiches themselves were great (we added the Chick-fil-A sauce which made it better), waffle fries are always good, and the peppermint chip milkshakes were tasty. This place WAS our go to fast food place for drive thru. Please do not give this business any of your hard earned money. The owner of this location does not deserve it. There is always a long wait and at least thirty percent of the time they will forget something in your order or mess it up. One time they didn't seal the lid on my drink right and when they handed it to me in those two cup holders, the drink spilled all over me and into my console. It was awful. They apologized but I had to spend half an hour getting that cleaned in my car. As many times they have messed up my order, I had never come back to complain until today. We visited the drive thru because we were on a time crunch driving to another town. Anyways they forgot to put a straw for my drink. I turned around and waited in line at the drive thru for what felt like forever. The guy taking the orders didn't offer to just get a straw. Anyways when I got to the front, I asked for a manager. Well he said that next time we should enter the store if they forget something in the order. Kind of defeats drive-thru? Well this manager was the owner. He was unapologetic and rude. I asked to be compensated since I had to turn around when I was late to another engagement, to which he responded it was just a straw. It's not starbucks, I needed a straw. I asked for information to his regional manager to which he said I could just google it. I wanted a name. He was rude and a total jerk who then told me to leave because my daughter looked embarrassed. He said this again. He didn't care. What kind of manager includes someone's child in an argument? What kind of business owner treats your loyal customers this way? One who doesn't care. He was arrogant and I felt discriminated against. He made me feel like I just wanted a hand out. I feel as though if I was a different demographic he would have been nice. As many times they have forgotten part of my order, had me wait forever in line or messed up my order. I had continued to support this establishment. I work too hard to support a business like this. Especially when in the past I had let it go. Shame on this owner. Shame. Do not support.
