The Classic Epic burger is very tasty and it's definitely a smash burger. This is the fourth time coming here and they're very consistent with their service. I would get an extra Pattie to make it a triple, if you're really hungry. Perhaps even add an egg, to kick it up a notch. Had a great lunch at Epic Burger in Skokie! I went with the classic Epic Cheeseburger -- juicy, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. My kids tried the Honey Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Epic Dog, and both were a hit. What makes this location even better is its spot -- right in front of the playground at Old Orchard. One of the better Epic Burger locations, if you're already familiar with their food. Otherwise you'll probably like the food here. The burgers and fries are good; the service can be spotty at times. They have a weekly happy hour thing where certain menu items are half-priced for a few hours in the afternoon. My only real gripe about Epic is the ventilation is bad, and this place stinks like cooking oil. Don't come here unless you're not concerned with leaving, smelling like hamburger grease. read more

There's a lot of options when it comes to eating in Old Orchard, but if you're looking for something quick, casual and kid friendly this is a good option. There's also very few restaurants that all 3 of my kids will agree on, but Epic Burger seems to be a favorite among all. They tend to build their own burgers with things like eggs, bacon and even some veggies. The fries are also very tasty and they are big fans of the cookie and cream shakes as well. It's clearly not the healthiest of our meals, but everyone leaves with a smile. It's also conveniently located right next to the Old Orchard playground, which was super convenient when my kids were little. These days they are a little big for the playground and tend to like some of the fancier options at Old Orchard (Bar Siena and Hampton Social to name a few), but we do still come on occasion.....and order via DoorDash as well. read more

Warning for those allergic to sesame seeds. Their Epic Sauce contains sesame seeds. We found that out the hard way and had an allergic reaction immediately after taking one bite of the burger. I have a picture of the ingredients label from the jar they use. Their website currently only states egg and soy as the allergens, so this is very misleading since sesame is not listed even when the FDA had required disclosure of it since 2023. Their website's comment box doesn't work and neither does the email address they list to send feedback to corporate! We are banning Epic Burger for this near fatal tragedy. Update: after getting their attention, they've been attentive towards my concerns, apologized, and addressed my complaints appropriately. I hope the changes Epic Burger intends to make to their website will provide more transparency for food allergy customers and in line with FDA requirements. read more

We came in on a weeknight dinner time. The staff at the counter was super helpful and very attentive and kind. We had a big order of 7 burgers, fries and shakes. We ordered a variety of burgers, the classic burger with triple patties, the cowboy burger with double patties and the chicken sandwich. We also tried the oreo, Nutella and strawberry shakes. The burgers were good and the triple burger patties is definitely a mouthful, much better eaten cut in half and even with one less patty. The fries here are tasty, we got the regular epic fries and not the Cajun but they do taste a bit like seasoned fries. Crispy and perfectly fried. Had to double share my review on Yelp and Google for their excellent service. I had a mix-up when ordering through Uber Eats I meant to place a pickup order at the Old Orchard location but accidentally selected another Epic Burger. Totally my fault for not double-checking, but the team at Old Orchard went above and beyond. They called the other location, confirmed the order, and graciously honored it on their end. The staff was kind, patient, and quick to help something that really stood out, especially in such a busy shopping center. Food poisoning 3 times at the Old Orchard location (within a 2 year time frame). Their meats smell, and anything that goes into the deep fryer looks nasty!! Which means they barely change the oil. This place used to be so awesome about 10 years ago! Obviously we don't see the same people that used to work in there. Another thing I've noticed is, if you're White they don't seem to want to serve you. If they have a problem with their register they make it seem like it's something you caused. Lol!! **HALAL MEAT** I usually don't leave reviews, but I tried to eat here. As someone who religiously does not eat Halal meat (meat sacrificed to Allah). I didn't realize the menu is almost all Halal meat. All the meat except the bacon and turkey is sacrificed to Allah. The menu online in most places and in person only states "Angus Beef", but if you look closely on the website and ask the workers they will tell you it is all Halal. Usually I do not mind and move on with my day, but it was not posted on the menu. I only figured out due to the Epic Burgers website. If you are Jewish, Messanic, or a Christian who follows the Old Testament dietary laws be careful eating here. The staff was kind and refunded us, but everyone should be made aware. You need to show them the deal on your mobile to prove that you know about it. Wife and I each got their classic Epic burger for $8.99 and also a "small" side of Epic fries for $2.99. The fries were a quite generous serving for the price (take that Shake Shack!) though they were on the salty side, but also tip top fresh. The Epic burger was juicy and tasty. The only reason why I bookmarked Epic Burger, let alone considered it, was because of its Beyond Burger which was what I ordered along with one of their Big Fat Cookies during my initial ordering experience. Ever since becoming vegetarian I have been on a mission to try every plant-based meat substitute option I can. Epic Burger has Beyond tenders on their menu but being the fact that there were no pictures shown via Yelp I did not order them. Another gripe of mine is that there was no description about the tenders as far as whether they were plant-based or not. In time, I believe I will give them a try once I get a little more information about them. I ordered via Yelp with Grubhub delivery while on my work shift, which took no longer than 45 minutes from once Grubhub received my order to the arrival of it at my doorstep. With that I surely have no complaints. The Beyond Burger was satisfying as far as its size and taste! * chef's kiss *. It was so satisfying that I ordered it again the following day, along with Sweet Potato Fries which were not even in my bag after I ordered them, paying $3.59 extra! Unacceptable! And there was no note left or call informing me that the fries would be absent. In closing, other than the absence of my Sweet Potato Fries which I had hoped to try, I enjoyed everything else: the Beyond Burger, and the Big Fat Cookie. This was my first time here and I must admit that I really liked their burger. I had the classic epic burger and every bite was delicious. Maybe it was the brioche bun? Maybe it was the meat? Maybe it was the onions? Whatever it was it was good. I also had their strawberry shake which went perfectly with the meal. I've had epic burger before and decided to drop on by when we didn't want to cook because of the super hot weather... The location is great because it's right by the kids play area. The basic epic burger is a pretty decent size, and they griddle cook the burger with the edges nice and crispy. I liked the little bits that flaked off as it was a crunchy treat. The fries were fresh potato cut fries which I like very much - though a bit over salted for my taste. I prefer unsalted myself - maybe I need to request that specifically. I was a bit disgruntled though when they served me my meal with grease slathered on the fry bag. The bun was quite great as well. I think it might be because of the butter they use to toast the buns, but I thought it was excessive grease and unappealing obviously. At least take the time to change out the fry bag or better yet, just serve the fries without the bag since it was served along side on the platter anyway.
