My only disappointment was the the bun, didn't seem very fresh. I'd still give it another go. I'll be back for another round. Thanks Small Cheval.

I would like to file a formal complaint regarding the manager, Rupert, at your store 09/17/2026…read more We placed an online order for pickup and, when we arrived, we lined up at the cashier because we also wanted to purchase drinks. Rupert told us that our order would take approximately 10-20 minutes, so we stepped away and waited for our order. What was concerning was that shortly afterward, a white customer came in and his order was taken right away. This was confusing and frustrating because we had just been told that we needed to wait. My friend then had to line up again separately just to purchase her drink. While we were eating, another Asian group came into the store and lined up at the cashier to place their order. Rupert again told them that they needed to wait approximately 20 minutes before he would take their orders. Seeing this happen to another group made us even more concerned about the way customers were being treated. Later, while we were eating, our group was talking and laughing together. We understand that we may have been somewhat loud, but instead of politely asking us to lower our voices, Rupert increased the volume of the store's sound system to a level that made it difficult for us to have a conversation. We found this behavior unnecessary and disrespectful. I want to emphasize that the other employees were very nice, courteous, and helpful. My concern is specifically with Rupert's behavior and the way he interacted with customers. A manager should set a positive example for the younger employees he supervises. Leadership should demonstrate professionalism, respect, fairness, and good customer service. It is disappointing to see a manager behave in a way that makes customers feel unwelcome, especially when the employees working under him were doing their best to be kind and helpful. I am asking your company to please review what happened 09/17/2026, including how orders were handled and Rupert's interactions with customers. I would also appreciate knowing what steps will be taken to ensure that customers are treated consistently, respectfully, and professionally regardless of their background. I hope the company takes this complaint seriously. No customer should leave a store feeling that they were treated differently or deliberately made uncomfortable by a manager.

It was my first intro to one and it did not disappoint. The beef was tender, the au jus was excellent! Melty cheese was pure goodness. My only wish is that it had slightly more giardiniera flavor - it was made into an aioli, so a bit too subtle. Highly recommend!

I couldn't wait to turn someone on to this location. I took my 18 year old grandson to try the same thing I had eaten 2 nights prior. I REALLY talked up the place. He enjoyed his peri-peri wrap as well but I HAD to let him know that what we had for lunch today was NOT as fantastic as the one I had the first time. Don't get me wrong. It was good but DEFINITELY wasn't as delicious as before! So, I suggest if you wanna taste a phenomenal peri-peri wrap, go around midnight. A short fuse and a close call…read more After Emily and I checked in to our hotel room, we wanted to stretch our legs and see if there was anything nearby for some beer and some food. Turns out, Short Fuse was right up the road and a 5 minute walk got us there. For a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but not dead, so we got seated right away. We ordered some beer and took a look at the menu. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them. It sucks to see a small business close but they did say they may try to open up a new place in a new location in the future.

As I refuse to pay extra for sports channel subscriptions over my basic Comcast cable TV package, I didn't have TBS for this particular game or series, and decided to come here hopeful of watching a festive home field series clinching celebration on this night. It was a festive and fun and tense night, and I had a blast until things fell apart in the 6th inning. Beacon Tap has a great reputation as a good and long standing local sports bar and it lived up to it. In fact, I learned that on Bears football Sundays, you need to reserve a spot here as it's so packed, you can't just walk in and watch a game. I sat at the bar and ended up having a couple of delectable Maplewood Son of Juice IPA drafts (at a reasonable $7.25 apiece) and had a blast with fellow fans, two of whom were regulars here. Tim was the fine and attentive bartender and he kept the beers flowing and it was a packed bar and dining room as expected. I left after the 6th inning when the game was decided and the Sox eventually lost 9-5. It would have been so cool to celebrate a major sports win in a sports bar along with the comaraderie, something I've never experienced, but alas, it will probably have to be in another life, ugh. Come to think of it, I have been at a winning major championship game, the Bears' 1985 NFC championship game when they beat the Rams 24-0 at Soldier Field, but being at a rowdy sports bar is indeed another thing. They have a quite nice beer list, and the usual pub food offerings. I learned that their popular 1/2 price pizza night is Tuesdays. They have a big parking lot to handle their big weekend crowds. I'm a big fan of this place, and will look to return again some day for a good time.
