My son came through the drive-thru and ordered a chicken sandwich with tomato and mayo on a regular bun. The young girl rang up just a piece of chicken without a bun. When he brought it to her attention, she just smirked and said, "oh no, it comes on a bun." So he checks the order before driving off and sure enough, they put a piece of chicken in the box on a tomato slice. What psycho orders a piece of chicken without a bun, tortilla wrap, or at least a lettuce leaf? He went in and explained what happened. The manager looked at him sideways and rolled her eyes. They wanted to take the chicken out of the box and put it on a bun, but my son asked them to make it fresh. I later called and asked to speak to the manager. When I told her what happened, she never apologized and just said, "well, we made him another one!" I told her that if it had been rung up right in the first place, he wouldn't have had to come in the store. I then said it was poor customer service and asked her if she agreed and she said yes! She said nothing else. No apology, nothing! I'm surprised by the attitude and lack of basic skills and consideration it should take to provide decent service! Best Burger Bun in the area and the onion rings are so crispy and huge. My favorite place to eat whenever I'm in Clayton to visit a client!

Food: I had the bacon and cheddar double butterburger. It was delicious, hot, and fresh. The fries were hot and fresh also. I tried a chocolate and brownie "concrete" afterwards and it was great too! My wife and kids all enjoyed their burgers and my kids really appreciated the complimentary custard that came with their kids meals. Atmosphere: Plenty of seating...very clean. Restrooms were clean. Customer Service: Quick and very kind. The individual working the seating area was also very kind. Price: The food was reasonably priced. Conclusion: 5 Stars. This is a Wisconsin-born food chain that has a very good reputation for great food and great customer service. During our visit, they did not disappoint. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for a good ol' American cheeseburger and fries...great custard too! read more

Stopped in briefly and got a cheeseburger, fry, and cheese bites. The cheeseburger seemed like "real" meat compared to other burger joints. It was really good. My new favorite place to get a burger and some custard, the deluxe butterburger put Freddy's to shame. The custard wasn't quite as good as Goodberry's but for the money it is on par in terms of value for what you get. My husband had been craving buffalo tenders for a month or so, so I gave in and we picked up lunch today. The drive thru had a few cars but the line moved quickly. We ordered the buffalo tender meal with fries for him and the double cheeseburger melt deluxe on sourdough bread meal for myself and chicken tenders for the kids. While we were there, a kid threw up on the carpet. There should never be carpet in a restaurant! The parents left with the kids and never said anything to anyone about it so we told the manager. New restaurant in Clayton. We've seen them before but never tried one. Had single burgers, crinkle fries, fried chicken sandwich, cheese sauce, and custard. The burgers were called butter burgers. I am thinking it means cooked with butter. It did not taste like that at all. It was a bit dry and the cheese was oily. The crinkle fries seem frozen. The cheese sauce was good. The chicken sandwich was not juicy, it was dry. I was not impressed. Very busy since it was new. A lot of staff standing around while you waited 10-15 minutes for your to go order inside. The customer service was great! The custard was great! HOWEVER, I'm disappointed that this location does not have a vegetarian burger option available. I haven't been to a Culver's that didn't so I am rather disappointed. Hopefully they consider it as an option in the future. I've been before when I lived in Wisconsin so was excited to see a new option in Clayton. Can't give it a better rating - it was not a great experience. Waited about 10 minutes for the food in drive through - not a deal breaker - it was lunch time so I expected it to be busy. The fries were good - crispy (even with the delay in getting home). OK so I waited to try this location three times before I decided to write a review. I have to say that my first time trying this burger place was in Charlotte and the burgers were absolutely mouthwatering. My first time trying the burgers in Clayton was disappointing but still a good burger. And unfortunately each time after, the burgers got thinner and more overcooked. I can't even say that maybe the food is getting worse because they're busy because this place is starting to die down. I went there 3 times. They got my order wrong all three times. Their food is average and overpriced.

We went there at 5:45 for dinner to go. After hearing people rave about this place I was surprised to see it so empty. For a place that claims to cook the burger when you order it, it sure came out fast. Oh well, it was empty so I wasn't complaining. Then we got home all of 3 minutes later - we live just off Amelia Church. The burgers were not what we ordered. My wife ordered the bacon deluxe with no cheese. I ordered the cheddar bacon burger. We both got the same burger. A cheese burger with no bacon. Not only that but the cheese wasn't even fully melted and the burgers were luke warm, not hot. It wasn't worth the effort or gas to go back but I will certainly not go there again. Messing up one order when you are really busy is one thing. Place is clean, the staff is super friendly and the food is just fabulous. I had a double bacon hamburger and onion rings.
