This review is for the Brattin Drive site in Garner, but I have eaten at Cook Outs in Dunn, Fuquay and several in Raleigh and my dining experience has been the same at all of them. I have never had a bad experience or even a mildly botched order - which has NEVER happened to me at any other chain restaurant, and that's anazing to me!!! The food is delicious and it's always fresh and hot. The combo order is a great deal and gives you an impressive amount of food (your burger or dogs, plus a choice of two very filling sides), especially when you consider the budget price! I usually get the quarter-pound burger or two hotdogs, and am so filled up that I can save my sides (usually a corn dog and hushpuppies) for lunch the next day! They offer a large selection of delicious milkshakes (about 30, last time I counted) custom-mixed for you with real ice cream - none if that milk-ice swill some of the bigger Shall Not Be Named burger chains. My husband and I try different flavors each visit, and they're all yummy. My favorites are Peach Cobbler, Banana Pudding, Cherry Cheesecake and Cappucino. Try one - it's a drink and a dessert. Again, I have gotten the same delicious quality and excellent customer service at each and every location, so this is a really well-run business. Check them out and happy eating. read more

I like the Cook-Out concept. No wasted time or energy on a dining room or even on more than a bench or two. Just a double-drive through window and a focus on burgers, hot dogs and shakes. So that's what we did - we drove through, got three shakes (banana, banana fudge and blueberry cheesecake) for the road. Excellent flavor and texture, good amount of "stuff" in there. Horrible experience. Was so disgusted by the drive thru employee that I had to leave. Every word that came out of her mouth was rude and plain unprofessional. For almost a decade I've ordered my burger a certain way and the way this employee told me to order differently was disgustingly unprofessional. I understand things change and sometimes we need to learn a new menu or in this case order a different way. We ordered 2 regular trays and 1 jr. The double burger in our tray was phenomenal! The lettuce was crisp and fresh, it was hot meaty cheesey goodness! The hush puppies were crunchy and tasty. I am a huge fan of their chicken nuggets and milkshakes. As with everything now, they did go up on the prices of the cook-out trays a tad, and I really hate that they charge for every single ingredient you put on your burger (well almost everyone). This particular trip my daughter wanted Cook-out and opted not to order anything. We stopped at this location (102 Bratton Dr) last Saturday and there is no where to sit inside or outside this location. It has a large area on the inside, but no seating at all just empty space. I called the corporate number and the representative informed me that it is a double drive thru. This is a horrible idea and I think Cook Out food and shakes are great, but not good enough to eat in your car or sit on the ground. I lived in North Carolina for the summer a few years ago and this place was a great spot to hit up. First I LOVE Cheerwine, and any place that has it is a friend of mine. I had the Cook Out Tray, I got it with a burger came with two sides or doubled up and a drink. Under $5. They have great burgers and this time I tried the cheese fries for the first time and they were great too.. Why not go hard when you want some food sometimes?? We can all agree that the food at Cookout is always good. The customer service is a definite hit and miss with the locations around the Triangle. I stopped by this location last night and was very much surprised. The customer service was straight up amazing! I thanked the worker over the speaker after I had placed an order for two trays. The worker here actually responded by saying "your welcome"! I'm excited about this because no other food place around this area thanks their guests. The young lady who took my payment had an actual genuine smile on her face and was very friendly. She repeated back my order after she asked how I was that evening. She asked if I needed any type of sauces for the order and replied that I needed BBQ. When I got home I checked my bags and noticed four of them. Not stingy at all! It takes about 15 minutes to get home from this location. The food was literally still hot and was the best I had ever had from any cookout. Everything was correct and perfect.
