I visited Culver's in Clayton after a friend's going away gathering and was terribly hungry. I decided to check out this place to satisfy my hunger and I was right to do so. While my palate did not detect any seasoning , the meat did taste fresh and it was very juicy. Not like a regular fast food burger. Definitely upper grade beef. Nice change to normal fast food places. Burgers are excellent and love the crinkle cut fries. This is such a great fast food restaurant. We drive out of our way to get to Culver's. The burgers are great, crispy patties and fresh toppings. They have a lot of options for sides. Their loaded fries with chili and cheese are excellent and their onion rings are great. Kids get a free scoop of frozen custard with their kids meal! So me and my family just wanted to get some custard, So we went there was barely anyone there and there were TONS of workers so we ordered four custards and we are waiting for an hour! Then they only bring three custards and one of them isn't right so then we wait another 30 minutes and the they only put a spoonful of fudge and the custard was liquid ,then one of the workers came out and said we only ordered three custards (we told the cashier 4 orders of custard) so that was on him. I saw rave reviews about Culver's fish and chips. I went thru the drive thru and asked to pay for specific quantities extra tartar sauce and malt vinegar. The clerk said okay and the price increased, but I only received 2 tartar sauces and a few malt vinegar packs. Thank goodness because the tartar sauce is virtually flavorless anyway. My wite and I went to this Culver's while visiting family. We were anxious to try the having seen commercials and reading reviews. We were underwhemed and disappointed. The much vaunted butterburger wasn't all that good. The fries were terrible, frozen and without any taste. They were by far the worst fries I've ever had at ANY restaurant. I was unimpressed with the custard, no more than average; I've had much better. I'll give them another chance at some point hoping this visit was an off day. Busy place at lunch time during the week. Had a single burger, onion rings and a small custard mixed with M&Ms, cost $11.70. Did the drive thru, offered them waited fiber five minutes for food to come to chat. Just enough time to enjoy dessert first since they gave me the custard. Creamy, cold and delicious was dessert. You can dress your burger up which was great because the burger was thin, dry and blah. The lettuce, tomato pickles helped it to be a bit more palatable. Onion rings were plentiful. Family stopped here for our first visit on the way to the park. Service was fine. Ordered four different things (three concrete mixers and one sundae) and we found a booth to wait. A few mins later the order was delivered by a very polite person---fast and courteous, cant beat that. Mixers were like your typical "blizzards" at DQ. I think there were two Reese cups in mine and towards the end, it was just vanilla ice cream. Wife ordered a mixer with two items added and had to go back for an additional topping as they didn't put a lot in there. $16 for four items like that should probably get you more for your money but I won't let that stop me from trying them again. One of very few locations in North Carolina! I've had Culver's years before in Charlotte, but was pretty excited about trying it again at the Clayton location. I ordered a spicy crispy chicken sandwich and an Oreo concrete. The building is located right next to CVS and was busyyy as ever! It took us a solid 45 minutes from start to finish through drive thru. So with Culver's, you'll order, pay at the window, and most likely pull up into some designated spots for your order to be brought out. The concrete was delicious as I remembered...so smooth like velvet on your tongue! The crispy chicken sandwich was like Chick-Fil-A good...but slightly less expensive. I would and will definitely go back and recommend people to try it out! A different fast food chain once in a while is fun :P read more

That was disappointing to get home and find half the order missing from the bag. Literally 2 of the meals ordered were missing. When I got home and called they just said sorry and said they could not offer a refund of any sort over the phone but if I mentioned it the next time I came in the would give me freed desert. Very clean establishment. While it was pretty busy it was easy and fast to give our order and sit. It didn't take to long to get our food either. My husband got a double butterburger and Ingot the single. We got the cheese curds and the pretzel bites with cheese. Both were awesome with our burgers. I went when the restaurant first opened. I was really disappointed and dissatisfied. I ordered chicken tenders, fries, and a chocolate ice cream. The ice cream was delightful, but i sent the chicken tenders back twice. When i first got them they were wet. The breeding was soaked. When i got them back the second time they were no different so i sent them back one more time. When i got them back they were crispy, however there was nothing special. The fries were bland. My boyfriend ordered a burger and he said it was fine, but the patty was small. Since then I've gone twice for ice cream. I'll say that their ice cream is wonderful, but their food is nothing special. I wouldn't waste my money on their food. read more

We were out and we were hungry so we happened to stumble upon this place. It looks really promising from the outside. So we ventured in not expecting anything. But what we found was everything great burgers and fries the onion rings are fantastic. First you order at the register, typical at any fast food establishment.If dinning in they give you a order number for your table the same system is in place at drive-thru. Condiments and drinks are self service. The order to table service was quicker than expected. The food comes out fresh and hot burgers toppings are made to order. They have the creamiest thickest ice cream ever and you can also get it in pint-size prepacked containers. First off, the parking lot is poorly designed, as it pertains to busy times. It was a nightmare to navigate. That seems to be slowing down now, as the place has calmed down since opening. The food wasn't bad; it just didn't stand out. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger that had no bacon on it...tried to correct the situation, but the front was too busy, and I just gave up. The fries and cheese curds were lukewarm, and just ok. The custard was amazing. I'm not generally a fan of the flat, crispy burger patties, but it wasn't a bad burger, overall. Several of my friends were extremely excited that this chain had come to the area, so naturally I felt compelled to give it a try. I have to say for what you get I think the prices are outrageous, and not only that but everything that I had from the burger to the cheese curds was extremely bland and uninspiring.
