I just got my new whole home filtration system from Culligan in Napa. Gayle came out and was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. She tested our water and told us exactly what we needed for our home here in Napa. She wasn't pushy just genuinely cared about us getting help. She walked my wife and I through the whole process and made it easy to get everything installed two days later. I shopped around a bit before contacting Culligan and their full service plan with lifetime warranty made the difference. Their prices were actually very middle of the road, but I know I'll never have to pay to replace it again. I would definitely recommend using Culligan if you want a great experience. read more

Updated review from 1 year ago. The current telephone number for Culligan of Napa Valley located in Fairfield, CA is (707) 558-1000. Rarely can you get someone on the phone, and if you do its now from another location "just helping answer the calls for the Fairfield office." SERVICE: Service is worse if that's possible. I managed to get "January" on the phone today to discuss water delivery and billing issues. She actually SIGHED loudly on the phone as I described the issues. When I apologized for boring or bothering her she said she "has allergies." Wow. Ok. I have to give credit to area manager Rocky however. I have spoken with him twice and he always follows through on missed deliveries! Thanks so much Rocky!! WATER DELIVERY: During the past year we have had missed deliveries without warning or explanation, our water delivered to unknown individuals that were charged to our account, irregular delivery times, and an inaccurate bottle delivery count. I can't recommend routinely scheduled water delivery with Culligan. Its too inconsistent. Although we didn't receive our robotic reminder last evening notifying us about our scheduled delivery today, we hoped our water would still be delivered - even though its now 6:30 pm. Follow up calls to Culligan assured us were still on the schedule for delivery throughout the day. However during our conversation with Rocky a few minutes ago we found out the drivers have finished their routes for today and gone home. Rocky states he will personally assure we have water in the morning. Consequently we have changed to Will Call delivery ONLY for now - meaning they deliver only when we call. BILLING: Monthly billing statements don't reflect the prior month's ending balance, or payments/adjustments. No continuity. Example: We were overcharged $51 one month, and paid it along with our normal bill via autopay. Culligan subsequently corrected the erroneous charges at the end of that month by making 2 credit adjustments ($27 & $24) to our account - resulting in the culmination of a bill of $6 for the next month. We never received notification of these credit adjustments or an explanation as to why we were initially overcharged. And neither credit posted to any of our billing statements. We also never received a modified billing statement reflecting the new balance/bill of $6. Six dollars was just taken as the payment on the next billing cycle. The regular monthly statement for that month generated as a regular billing statement. Multiple monthly statements were recently generated for the same month without any nexus to each other. And again none of them pertained to the aforementioned charges/credits. "Descriptions" on the statements aren't constant. Sometimes water bottles returned are listed on the statement as "Water Bottle Deposit/Return Charge" while other times they are listed as "EDG-Deposits." Culligan lacks accuracy, consistency, and transparency. Their bookkeeping methods don't seem to align with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Notifications to customers about account adjustments are non-existent. Fee increases are not clearly communicated in advance, don't reflect honest pricing, and resemble price gouging. INCREASES & FEES: There is a blanket statement on their invoices stating, "Due to increased costs in materials and labor, you may notice a small increase in some products and services." In January 2026 our per-bottle cost for a 5-gallon bottle of spring water was $8.95 each. Beginning February it changed to $10.99 each - a 22.79% increase. In May the service (delivery) fee changed from $7.50 per month to $15 per month - a 100% increase. These fee changes are not SMALL as stated by Culligan. A message could have been included on the billing statement 30-60 days in advance alerting consumers of the actual changes to per bottle and service fees. AUTOPAY: Although this is usually a good method for trusted companies I can't recommend autopay or Culligan. Given that there is no transparency in billing practices and fee increases without adequate knowledge - you are at their mercy. We have opted to remove it, and have monthly statements generated/mailed to our home for review before payment. Subscribe at your own risk. Better oversight, additional staffing, staff accountability, better bookkeeping practices, transparency, customer focus, and ways to communicate with drivers in the field are areas that need major improvement. read more

We live in the Cordelia area where it is very windy. I have salt delivered for our water softener approximately every three months. Invariably, technicians come through the backyard for salt delivery and leave the wooden gate open instead of placing a large rock nearby to prevent the wind from slamming the gate shut. As an alternative, the technician could close the gate behind himself while servicing the water softener. Today, as has happened several times before, the technician left the gate open while filling the tank. Today, 9/21/26, was a very windy day and naturally the wind slammed the gate shut. All the technician had to do was either close the gate or place the large rock in front of it to prevent it from slamming shut. I have had to make unnecessary repairs on two other occasions because of a broken gate or a broken latch on the gate. This should be common sense for the technician, but I guess they either don't think or don't care. Secure the gate so that it won't slam shut and break. This is just another problem added to a list of other problems I have had with Culligan. To potential new customers, I would look elsewhere and do the research before selecting Culligan to do anything. read more

Our reverse osmosis was installed in Sept 2025 and since then we've had 3 technicians come out. All the same guy and the third time they said the machine we had was faulty and gave us a new machine and it is still beeping. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They scheduled a water cylinder installation appointment even though the access path had not been cleared and was overgrown with weeds. When the technician arrived, I was informed that the installation could not be completed and would need to be rescheduled. Despite not performing the installation, the company charged me a $300 installation fee. I find it unacceptable to be billed for a service that was not completed. After completing the cleanup, I contacted the office approximately one week ago to inform Shawna that the work had been completed and requested that a technician be scheduled to install the system. Unfortunately, her response was rude, unprofessional, and unnecessarily confrontational, interrogative asking me the the reasons for not getting my yard cleaned. Instead of assisting with scheduling the installation, she questioned me in a manner that I found inappropriate and unacceptable. The conversation proceeded as follows: "ohhh, so, you did not get your backyard cleaned three weeks ago as you promised? I said. "No, I could not, but, my contractor cleaned the yard this weekend, when do you have the earliest appointment to install the water system?" Shawna said "we have earliest appointments available as early as first wk of July." I agreed to email her cleaned yard pictures and emailed her. Below is the email I sent Shawna: " Jun 22, 2026, 11:07AM (23 hours ago) to Ising's Hi Shawna, My XXXX, and I have been dealing with the situation for the past three weeks. As a result, I was unable to schedule a date for the backyard cleaning. We were able to have the backyard cleaned this weekend, and I have attached photos for your reference. Please let us know the earliest available appointment for the installation. Thank you, XXX " I RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. This morning, I called the company's office four times and spoke with Shawna. During these conversations, I found her behavior to be rude, unprofessional, sarcastic, disrespectful, and extremely upsetting. She repeatedly interrupted the conversation, made statements that I perceived as threatening, and disconnected my calls multiple times. I also contacted the corporate office to file a formal complaint and left two voicemail messages requesting a return call. To date, I have not received any response. Given my experience with the company's customer service and the lack of resolution to my concerns, I no longer have confidence in their ability to provide reliable service and cannot continue doing business with them. I'm a simple customer. All I have is a service to deliver 4 5-gallon jugs of water a month. Everything was going fine, you give me water, I set up auto pay and give you money. Then, last month, a delivery drive somehow forgot to take the empty bottles from my porch when he delivered. I've left 5 voicemails, I've submitted 3 support requests through the painfully slow website, I've submitted a support request through LinkedIn and I've received NOTHING. No one answers the phone, no one calls me back, not even an automated email saying my support request was received. Literally nothing. I have 8 empties on my porch and my delivery is tomorrow. I was thinking of just cancelling the entire service but guess what? You have to submit a support request through the website. This is the absolute worst customer service I've ever received. And Primo is the same way. Not sure why water delivery companies are so absolutely incapable of responding to basic support requests. Stay far away from this company. read more

We got our water filter and water softener installed in late 2023 through Culligan late 2023. The water filer has been working on and off for a while until it finally stopped working. We finally got someone from Culligan to look at the system after months of calling, but the system stopped working again. It has been months we've been trying to call, but either no answer or voicemail. No one never call us back. I don't think this is fair as we have been paying Culligan a monthly payment for maintenance and is unable to get someone to fix this system. We have had Culligan for whole house water filtration - we are on well water. The system had worked well until 6 months ago, after repeated calls, a service came and adjusted the system - three weeks ago. I'm goin to cancel my monthly tank service with Culligan in Fresno ca. (I've had had them only 6 months). The first 3 months were great! Water was soft and clear with no issues. The 4th month they brought out some bad filter tanks and water was hard and a little cloudy so I called to let them know. They brought me 2 filter tanks out (3 days later) and the water cleared up and was great again. The last 2 months have been iffy. The water isn't great again and I have low water pressure. I was scheduled for a delivery of tanks on 1/2/26 and they didn't show up. Word of advice. Buy your own water filter system which is my plan. I just can't trust I will get good tanks every month with Culligan. read more

Never using Culligan again. This experience was directly with the Fairfield division. 1) They are the worst at answering phone calls. I've left voice messages several times and they would never call me back. 2) Their delivery notifications got really bad the last 4 months; I'd either never receive a notification for when I'd receive my next delivery or they wouldn't leave a voicemail whenever I'd miss their phone calls. 3) Their billing system is a mess. I went to cancel my subscription because I just didn't like how the service was being provided and returned the bottles myself in person and yet, what I was fearing happened; they charged me a whole bunch of money, more than I usually pay for "unreturned" bottles! Apparently we have a "credit" in the account which they never used towards our bill either. We contacted them and finally got to one person from the billing department. This person (Kim) stated to have No Idea about why we're getting charged extra and apparently there's NOTHING they can do about it!! The manager (Joe) was not around.... They keep blaming their "New System" for all the mess. That's their excuse, but no solutions! We Had to escalate this issue to the headquarters and who knows if we'll get this issue fixed. I'm always disturbed when they press for you to pay by credit card and will not make service appointments if not current. I have check in mail. (Their invoice shows no money due--a very poor format on their invoice). Also discovered that their filter is available on Amazon or from local plumber for a heck of a lot less than they charge. Also, when they replaced an outdoor filter, they broke underground pipe from well. It was raining and, when they did get it repaired and filter in place, left muddy streaks on plaster wall. i've been a customer with Culligan for over 10 years. There were some fraud on my account so the auto pay declined. Despite the fact they never follow up on service calls or anything else for that matter, they got snippy and decided to come and take their system without 24 hour notice. Then the topper, a lumbering 6ft tall and well- big guy, named Nate called me aggressive (irony) when I asked him to leave 6 times. He then proceeded to call me racist and started hopping down the street like a monkey. I'm a proud Mexican btw so no idea he was demeaning one of his own. He had a bad man bun so maybe this explains the odd behavior. Nevertheless, these people (Terry, Nancy, Kim and Nate and whoever runs the place does a terrible job. We have had Culligan for quite a long time. Their drivers are very friendly and the bottled water is good. However... Their customer service in the office is awful. I can call and let them know that I don't need a delivery service this month, I can email them on their form forum, And it has not worked one time to skip a water delivery. I have received a leaky bottle a couple of times and called for a credit, which does happen, but getting to the 'right department' is another story. Their pricing has gone up quite a bit, but I even understand that. They just need to fix something in the Albany office. read more

We are "privilege program" customers (paying extra for services included in this program), Culligan informed us our system needed to be upgraded. They changed out our system under our kitchen sink. Over the holidays, we were out of town....only to return to a pool of water in the kitchen and under our sink. Informed Culligan and they had someone come and assess and make the needed repairs...tech informed us of poor tubing fit to the water system which resulted in leak. The cabinet under the sink where the reservoir is housed is now warped and peeling (ruined).....Culligan's response, "not liable." Good to know that you promote the upgrades and take no accountability on issues that have resulted from the system having a problem. Appreciate the great customer service!!! Regarding the Fairfield office: Worst service, bar none, of any vendor I've ever done business with -- not even close! They're always late, and the women in the office are always rude, arrogant, bossy, and dismissive, no matter how pleasant and professional I am with them. In the two years since I took on the responsibility (after the last person got fed-up with their BS), they have never -- NOT ONCE -- delivered on schedule, even then without me having to call multiple times. They always make up some totally lame excuse which usually involves throwing one of their own under the bus. But there's more! Several times, they've been so late that I've had to drive to their warehouse to pick up and install the tanks myself. And the thanks we get for doing their job for them is that we have to pay them immediately upon pickup despite our having a net 30 account with them for which we have NEVER been late paying!! With most recent yelp from Emily, that's exactly what happened to us. They changed our uv light on the system and replaced water filters. After a few weeks, discovered the light cap wasn't put back on right causing it to leak and under sink filter wasn't replaced correctly causing water to leak all over the floor , warped our bran new floors and charged us over 300.00 for the weekend call to turn it off than to turn around and say we need a new system. And it was only one yr old system and told us it isn't under any warranty. Interesting to hear it happened to someone else. I thought I upset the service employee when he changed the light and water system because it seemed deliberate having a bran new system costing over $8000.00 to break on us so quickly. I had awful experience with them. All they want is selling the products asap. They didn't even looked up where your pipe connection is. They just want you to pay more for material. When I asked them where another place I could put the machine. Because the place they chose is not convenient for me. They just said no, or I need to rent the machine can put outside. My uncle had to came, and showed them where the pipe is and told them that they could put the machine which simple installation. Thanks God. I didn't trust them. I had other person to install the machine for me where I want. Sam was my seller. He actually doesn't know the stuffs. All he know is about you can see on the company advertisement. Culligan customers beware! My wife and I bought a $6,000 dollar water softener system from Culligan thinking it was the best. Wow, were we wrong! Gilligan employees installed the system, but were missing a component part so they had to build a large network of pipes to make up for the missing part. After the system was installed the system worked for a couple of weeks and then the nightmare started. The system kept regenerating over and over again. I called the sales representative and she sent service personnel over and over again, but the problem continued. I asked for our money back, but since we paid for the system they will not return our money or exchange the unit. After months of seeing their untrained service personnel and our water being wasted we gave up on help from Culligan water. We have decided our Culligan water softener is a loss and are giving the system away. The amount of frustration and anxiety that this water softener and the Culligan company have created is well worth the loss. On top of all that we later discovered that since the system is proprietary they charge exorbitant amounts for service and parts after your first year unless you sign up for a service contract. But it seems only right to provide honest feedback on an incredibly frustratingly negative experience with a company with whom I have spent tens of thousands of dollars (RO system) and monthly service fees. A seemingly carousel of employees coming and going (seems mostly like "going" as they're chronically understaffed and use it as a regular excuse for their poor service). Rushed service/mistakes, lack of follow up, little/no communication. And in the end, not adequate quality water. I have called, emailed, left notes for the technician. A very bad experience and I greatly regret utilizing them. As soon as any of my equipment fails, I will move to a more professional water treatment company. read more

This review is strictly for Culligan's BILLING practices, NOT for service. I had a Culligan technician (who was great!) come to the house in April to change water filter in the wellhouse. The service was good, but I didn't receive an invoice (or "statement") until late May. Upon receiving the bill, I promptly mailed a check, which Culligan cashed in early June. Even though they cashed the check, I kept receiving additional invoices, with incrementally growing "finance charges" and "paper processing fees". When I called for explanation, I was told that by the time I received the FIRST statement/invoice, I had already accrued a "finance fee" and a "paper processing fee" b/c I was supposed to pay the technician at the time of service. I had no idea that was the case and Culligan charged me FINANCE & PAPER PROCESSING FEES before I even received their first invoice. UPDATE: After I thought I had settled the extra charges by paying with my credit card over the phone on 8/9/21, I just received another invoice! I called Culligan office in Fairfield today (8/30/21) and I spoke with a very nice and helpful lady, who after hearing my story, said that they are waiving all the extra charges and my account has zero balance (finally!!!). I'm happy to update my review since I was impressed with how easily and quickly this was resolved today (although I wish that was the case months ago!). Better late than never ;-) read more

Was told since today is exactly one year to the very day that they won't honor the free service. That was the call of VIC the service manager. What a rip off! Filters for Osmosis cost over $400 which you could end up paying every year. Add another $100 a year for your water softener and the charge for your salt delivery. This company does not care about you, money is all they want. I'm not saying they don't have good technicians, they do. I spent a lot on new equipment, I certainly didn't think I would need to spend another $50 a month just to keep it all covered under repairs. I'm done. I strongly advise against getting a Culligan Water System. They will charge you thousands to put a small couple of gallon tank under your sink and attach it to a few small filters. Ok. You might be saying that you'd pay to have a good permanent system in place to get great drinking water, but that would fade once they send you an email a year later telling you for the FIRST TIME that it is now time to change all your filters, and then mention in passing that the visit is $159 but the filters are an additional $400. And they recommend doing this filter change yearly. The biggest rip-off in town. And just to reiterate, no one told me that the filters would need to be changed yearly or what that huge cost would be. So, I am stuck with a system that I paid lots of money for that I do not want to pay extra for. And the people in the office will not reduce charges or negotiate at all claiming that national Culligan sets the prices and they are fixed. The company is simply unethical and greedy.
