Let's talk about Brenda, she was very nice and helpful since I don't know anything about water softener system. She was showing me how the water system works and how to shut it off incase of emergency. We are happy with our water system even I knew I could get newer system. We just moved into our new home, there is a water system already installed so we just continue with it. I would recommend them if you are interested in water system. BUYER BEWARE. We moved into a house with an existing Culligan system that started leaking. We called and they said it was under warranty. They sent a technician out and he concluded they needed to replace the unit. After 2 weeks the appointment was finally scheduled after us calling multiple times. They then sent a technician out with no information and without a replacement unit. Fast forward another month and 2 more visits, they finally replaced the unit. Now after all this, we receive an invoice for the entire replacement unit. We have called multiple times and they always say they will investigate and call us back. Culligan's technician was unsure how to resolve my water softener problem. The technician use the words "I think" this might fix it and if it doesn't then "I think" this might fix it. My first concern was the word "I think". And in each one of those descriptions I was told a price of $359 for the first "I think" and $500 for the second "I think" and I said so I'm going to pay this kind of money and you're not sure if either one of them are going to resolve it, no ma'am the tech said . So I chose the $359 option The technician did that, tested it said the system was working fine leaves and I kept waiting for my water to be soft again. The technician also told me to not add any more salt until the dirty water had gone down, so I checked the water level every couple of weeks and it was still full of dirty water, had salt in it, so I did not add salt. Several months go by and still high level of dirty water high, levels of salt no soft water. I hold off calling Culligan back again because I just had a strong aggravation about all of this. Several months later I get an email from Culligan that it is possible that some customers did not get the email invoice they found out that there was some sort of email issue. Couple days later I get an invoice in the mail. I had not been using the email invoice for four years always received in the mail when I open the invoice there's a five dollar late charge attached to my bill. So I paid the bill minus the five dollars attached all the documentation and sent it off to the Minnesota office and told them that I was not paying the five dollars because it was not my fault the bill was late. So one day a couple of weeks ago I decided to call Culligan and try to get the water softener issue resolved. Culligan sent out a sales guy and a manager and they review and think they can fix it themselves try serval different things and no resolution so they placed a service call guy shows up the next week fixes the water softener. Never says anything about a charge he used a little part that he had in his truck leaves, an hour later I get an email with a bill for the the normal 89.95 service call parts and labor so I call my sales rep who wants me to keep him up to date of all things, let him know that I do not think I should pay the service call because my water softener has never been repaired from the first time I paid the service call, sales guy tells me he'll take a look into it and we are now into like two 2 1/2 weeks I've discussed it with him one or two more times he keeps telling me he'll look into it no resolution yet so today I got an invoice from Culligan going again still the five dollars is there still the 89.95 service charge from the second time is still there and I have had it with Culligan so I will pay everything that that they think I owe. And I will write this review on yelp to let everyone know how frustrating this company is they might have a good product but I've only had my water softener for years and this is the second significant service call that has needed to be done to fix the water softener. their service call fee went from 69 95 to 89.95+ tax the technician that came out really didn't have any idea of how to resolve it the first time. I have felt like I've been getting a serious run around and I almost feel like the guys think that I am a complete idiot and I'm falling for everything that they are telling me which by the way I'm not. iand the other glitch to this whole thing is that Culligan is proprietary and no one else can fix their water softeners. So in the future if I require additional services from Culligan I am going to call and get a quote from another company because it's got to be cheaper to buy a new water softener than it is to continue to have Culligan come out and repair a four-year-old softener. So my advice to you is to shop around before you engage in Culligan. read more

About two months ago, I mysteriously fell off the salt delivery schedule. I called the local office, told the story with my account information, then was put on hold for over ten minutes...and I hung up. I answered a survey from them about a month ago after submitting a customer service request through their website and received a prompt reply from Samantha Soria explaining how my feedback is very important and Culligan takes this very seriously. She said I would be contacted directly by the local management team to resolve the issue. Well, it's a month later and no contact,,,and still no salt. I've moved on from the salt, now getting it myself. It's very disappointing after doing business with Culligan for 30 years. There's a couple of good people I've worked with over that time, but the company is horribly mismanaged. There are many other options for these products and services and people need to know that. read more

Where do I even begin. I've been dealing with trying to have a complete water softening system since Feb 6, 2016 and here it is March 8, 2016 and it's still not complete. Truth be told, I can not remember the last time I've had such awful customer service or lack thereof. To explain in detail would entail writing a novel, thus I give the Readers Digest version. My yard has been dug up in multiple places by several crews (one plumber and a crew of "water specialists). Plumber was here for 9 hours & kept shutting my water off & not telling me. I do have and have had a water softener for about 5 weeks. I have no hard water line (which you need to have in order to water your yard and not over work your water softener system). It was supposed to be installed last week (the hard water hook up) didn't happen. Then it was supposed to be installed today and I spoke with and texted my sales guy - didn't happen. Mind you no one ever calls me to tell me they're not gonna do it. There is simply NO COMMUNICATION! My decision to go with Culligan was based upon my previous experience with them in San Antonio (Stellar Service & Installation completely done in less than 6 hours). It appears as though everyone in the company is inept and doesn't give a damn. DISCLAIMER: I run a home improvement company & I bend over backwards to satisfy my customers thus I have an expectation of what great customer service is & Culligan of Austin gets an F- It should also be noted that my home was built in 1950 so it might be a challenge but that's still no reason to not communicate with your client and be there for them at every step and or glitch in the process - BUYER BEWARE read more

I was just informed TODAY when they came to deliver my bottles that they will no longer be doing bottle delivery!!!! I called the office and they said, "yes it's true, we are going green". I just bought a house with an un-known brand water softener unit with no manual. Someone suggested I call Culligan to get help with programming the thing. I called Culligan, explained my problem to a very friendly person on the other end who dispatched Brenda to my house. She was great! She tested the water, explained my system and how to program it and left me with recommendations. No pressure even thought she did add that Culligan sold high quality units. The service by Brenda was free to me. She said, "We take care of our customers and our non-customers." If anyone is having a home built, call Culligan before the foundation is poured. You can have the RO system placed in the Garage near your softener. I wish I called them sooner. We've had our Reverse Osmosis unit for several years now which we rent through Culliagan and we love it! Very reasonably priced! Culligan changes the filters and maintains it if ever anything goes wrong. It's worked fantastically and has provided us with the best tasting, chemical free water. As he worked, he explained what he was doing and told me some tips that I appreciated. He was very conscientious as he worked, making sure nothing was getting wet as he changed filters and cleaned up when he was done. I am writing an update regarding my experience with Culligan of Austin's customer service and billing because I received a call from the District Director who told me of the mistakes that had taken place regarding not just my account but apparently several. As the business leader of this area, he took full responsibility and apologized. He understood why I was willing to cancel my service and have the unit removed. After 15 minutes on the phone with him, we worked out a plan that worked for both parties and I am staying with Culligan. I was waiting to write this update to see if the recent, unauthorized up charge was was removed and it was. It sounds like he is turning things around regarding customer service and billing practices so I am going to stay and see how things work out. I like the product but it was the previous customer service and billing practices that I could no longer tolerate. I think its worth mentioning that he never mentioned Yelp reviews or never asked me to rewrite one. I am doing this because I think the right thing has been done. I will keep an eye on things as we move forward and update again if needed. read more

They came to work on our water softener on 03/07/2016, and while they were here unplugged the deep freeze in my garage. We do not use this freezer every day, or even every week, so It was no until 04/04/2016 that we discovered the mess. Upon calling customer service we were told it was our fault for not noticing the problem sooner, but then was told it wouldn't matter when we discovered the problem, it was my word against theirs and they would not have done anything anyway. Totally freaking disappointed with Culligan! How many years have they been in business? They almost never seem to know how to treat customers right. They called me on Friday to remind me of my appointment between 1-4pm today. At 3:05, the tech called, saying he is on his way from Taylor and it will take a little over an hour (I am in South Austin). He arrived at 4:30. Even with his courtesy call, it is still extremely annoying that I wasted all afternoon waiting for their service. In my opinion, companies that still give 4-hour service window is pathetic!! He got done at about 5pm. He told me to wait 2-3 hours, then drain the water, and fill the tank again. The process will take 4+ hours!! So I will be 5 hours without filtered water, right at dinner time!! I have been sick and the hot water tank I have hooked to the Culligan keeps me going. And now I have to boil my own hot water for the next 4 hours?? The tech that came last year, without saying a word, just opened my dishwasher door, saying he didn't want the water to drain while all the tubes are disconnected. I can't even remember the 2 years before that what other annoying things they did. But they came up with a new thing to annoy me every year!! If there are all these caveats, why can't they give their customer a list when they make the appointment??? Things like, do not run the dishwasher during the appointment window, save up water you need for the day, as I have to wait 4.5 hours for them to come, then another 4+ hours to refill the tank, and whatever other stupid things they need. And oh, shorten their service window to 2 hours should be of utmost priority!!!!!! Instead, all they focus on is when to raise their price, and how much more they need to charge. They can do this to their customers because it is almost like a monopoly. There is no other Culligan service provider in the Austin area. And it is a big deal to get rid of them and switch to another brand. I know for sure I won't be installing another Culligan when I move!!! Now that I am looking at the paperwork, the tech indicated "yes" for "did you leave the 'Your Opinion Counts' survey slip?" Well, that is a lie. I didn't receive any survey slip. And he checked "yes" to "is the work site cleaner than when you arrived?" Another lie. I had cleaned up the kitchen before the appointment time and didn't use the kitchen for the whole time while waiting for them, so they would have work space. When he left, the kitchen floor was somewhat wet, the inside of the cabinet was wet, the water tray was moved, the water tank was moved - not back to the original position. I am very specific about where things stay. The water alarm went off twice while he was here. An indication of his carelessness. The water alarm was not put back. He told me to wait for the alarm to dry, put the battery back in, then I could put the alarm back to where it should stay. AND, worst of all, he didn't even check rejection rate. He just changed the filters! How did he know the membrane is still good? Also, I have the right to know what the rejection rate is. I'm sure he wants to take short cuts - he said he had 2 more calls today. Is that what you call good customer service?! Ok, I give them 2 stars because they do have one tech, Chris, that I do like. read more

I generally like to find something good about a business so here are the good things. The young ladies I talked to on the phone were very pleasant and their product served us well. Now to the bad things. I called Culligan because I bought a pretty high end water softener from them about 14 years ago. I had not had any problems with it until recently when I got an error message that I could not clear. I called Culligan of Austin and explained my problem. The young lady said that one of their techs could probably walk me through the process of clearing the message. She said I would have to be at the machine when the tech called. I explained that the house was vacant as it was being prepared for sale. We arranged a time for me to be at the house. I had to take time off from work to be at the house. I waited for two hours and no call from the tech. When I called Culligan, the nice young lady told me they needed a 4-hour window. I couldn't wait any longer so we arranged for another time. I took off from work again to wait 4 hours. No call. I called and the young lady was going to try to get another tech to call me and said she would call me right back. No call back from her or the tech. I left the house but waited for a call back the rest of the day. Not a peep. Not a good way to treat a customer. I'm done with Culligan. read more

I love my Culligan water softener. Brenda was fantastic in every way. She took us step by step to show us the difference of not having a water softener and in having one. She'd also told us the benefits of what a good water softener can do for our family and house. Since our son and daughter have eczema, she told us that it would definitely help with their skin irritations and we will see the difference after we start using the Culligan water softener. She wasn't lying about that, I was surprised on how my kids skin had cleared up and their skin looks healthy and radiant. I would definitely recommend Culligan water softener to those who have eczema. Brenda never pressured us into buying just to buy and make a sale. She was like a friend and everything she said to us she kept her words . When she said she's going to come back after the water softener is installed, she did . She tested the water for us to show us the difference of how hard the water was before and after we had it installed. She was so right and my family loved how the water feels on their skin. No more harsh water and we enjoy our filter water system from Culligan's too . Saves us a lot money from buying bottled water. In Cedar Park we have hard water. We found it necessary to use a whole house water softener and filtration system to improve our water's condition for bathing, clothes and dish washing and all around water satisfaction. For seven years we rented equipment from Culligan and had no problems. When we moved into a new home we thought we'd consider other companies. We considered Pelican, Sweetwater, Kinetico, and Rhino. We chose to purchase our whole house water softener and filtration system from Culligan given are already successful history with them and because they had the best product at the best price. Thank you Glen for meeting us on our schedule and completing the purchase. We are dissatisfied with the installer, a subcontractor, since they had to come and rework the installation several times and in the end we are not satisfied with their work. Regardless, the system works great and we love the taste and feel of our water. read more

not happy with service that was scheduled for today 12/28/15. no pre call and when I called the office they said they would check with service tech Adrian to see when he would be here and that did not happen either. - well I stand corrected to some extent - Adrian left a service sheet at the front door so he did show up. he did not call to tell me when to expect him though and I was home but may have been in the shop or out back. other techs have always come via the driveway that goes behind the garage and come to the back door. oh well will call tomorrow. read more
