The office manager does not know her job very well. They do not honor contract prices and will just add $$$$ to your bill with no notice or explanation, so watch them very closely. Extreme dissatisfaction with the service received. Despite paying for full service for one year, we have experienced several issues that remain unresolved. 1. Your team has never changed out our filters, neither inside nor outside our house. As a result, we have water spots on every faucet in our home 2. Beware! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. If I could give zero stars I would! I used a different water delivery service for over a year that was recently purchased by Culligan and that's when everything begin to go down hill. This company is truly disorganized, customer service is absolutely lacking, there's no sense of urgency, problem-solving, or decorum but they have absolutely no problem taking your money! I had a problem with my delivery, schedule, items, refunds, or customer service nearly every time it was time for me to receive water. At first it was scheduling issues. Because there is no set calendar of when deliveries will be made like my previous company I found myself calling a lot to confirm the dates of delivery, which would still be incorrect. I would say I talked to blank on this date and they told me my water would be deliver on this date and the person would say no we only deliver in that area on Tuesdays one week then the next week it would be Thursdays. They would also mention that you should receive a text regarding your upcoming delivery, but I hadn't been able to see those texts until recently and after many times of calling and explaining that to them. I also live in a building I used to have the water delivered to my door no issues. To my surprise my water is not delivered on the day I was told, however water that I don't ever order "distilled" is delivered to an apartment on my floor but far from my door. It sat at this apartment for almost a week as no one lived there and was intended to be delivered to me but was not even the correct. I was out of water for all the days it took them to figure this out. I was also charged for this and hadn't received my "refund" til today and this happened in December. During the recent snow day, water was supposed to be delivered that day as per their text message alert. They were closed for the day and days after so I couldn't get in contact about when I could expect delivery since obviously they wouldn't deliver on snow day. When they finally called back two days later they said I would have to wait until the next week even though I was out of water and would be waiting until the next week for some. Again they only deliver in my area on certain days. Insane! After this final conversation I asked what is the process for cancelling the service, with no hesitation or offer to salvage this contract the person on the phone said I can cancel for you right now. Because I had empty bottles as I was originally waiting for my new full bottles, the person on the phone assured me that after my empties were picked up they would cancel my service because they couldn't pick up the empties if my service was already cancelled. She also told me she would check on my refund and get back to me. Ok great good riddance. Well of course that would be too easy. My empties were picked up and yet I still receive a text regarding my next delivery date. I call to ask about why my service isn't canceled and of course no answer. They finally called me back today saying the service is cancelled. I asked about my refund as I still haven't received it, the person on the phone proceeds to tell me the refund is the form of a credit on my account. My account is closed as I've cancelled so what am I supposed to do with a credit on a closed account. She says I can buy a single bottle of water because they don't give refunds of actual payment. Even though it was their mistake that they didn't deliver I have to pay and not be refunded. Mind you my last bill was 100$ which it never has been, because of their mistake. My card is on file and they never charge it they just let the charges add up. It was 45$ they owe me and I have a 15$ credit in a cancelled account. Lol all I can do is laugh because otherwise I would lose it. I will never use any of the services provided and do not recommend. read more

Do not use Culligan for your water softener I have no clue that I was locked into a 12 month contract. Definitely not mentioned and emphasized during my signing with Brenda, their long time sales representative. A word of warning to those thinking of purchasing or signing up for service with Culligan of Austin: DONT...!!! I was lied to and told only "THEY" could service the area I moved to. Not true. I was very quickly pressured into buying 2 r/o systems and told without a clear explanation as to why I could not have a water softening system put in. At any rate I decided to go with the r/o systems and scheduled an installation. The technician that showed up was a taco short of a Combination Platter, if you know what I mean. He showed absolutely no manners, professionalism or an interest in his job or trade. Turns out or so he says, that the "warehouse didn't load my equipment for the 2 systems on his truck" before he left. Don't people check these things out? I almost cancelled the entire order. Oh, I didn't mention that he never called me with an ETA and showed up 1 hour late, without the parts he needed. Then had to wait 2 more hours for them to get their "act" together. Then, to make things even worse, the technician tapped into my cold water line causing an issue I had to pay a Plumber out of my own pocket. See photo below. Now, after just moving into this new house, I find out he messed up with the hot water tap in on the main level, where the more expensive on demand r/o system was installed. Now I have to get someone else to look at it. Do you want to know why...??? THEY GHOSTED ME AFTER MY FIRST COMPLAINT TO THEM, HAVE NEVER CALLED OR RESPONDED TO VOICEMAIL, TEXTS OR E-MAIL. I'm still in shock that someone COULD BE SO CRUEL TO A SENIOR DISABLED PERSON. I too would recommend finding another service. We had an expensive water softener put in, paid for the wifi and it never got installed. After 2 service calls they finally said the right wifi board was not put in. They installed it but it has never worked correctly. Had them come out again 3 months ago and troubleshoot, the tech said he was not sure why it was not working correctly. Now here is why my review is negative. They charged me $219 for that visit. I contested it, called and sent online chats with never getting a return call. Got a live person twice that said the manager in Austin would call me. That was 3 weeks ago. I am a sucker and paid the invoice versus having them submit it to collections. None the less, don't use them. read more

Scheduled an appointment, but then I'm contacted about an outstanding invoice. Then no one comes out to perform the service. I have to reschedule the appointment after they missed the date. This has happened multiple times. Trying to fix invoices and no one responds to emails or phone calls for months. If you do get ahold of someone there is always something wrong "with the system" or things "are running slow". This company has poor customer service, and they aren't in a hurry to fix that. I am now in the 7th month of them not returning my phone calls, voicemails or emails - but they continue to BILL ME long after asking to settle up the account! $530 more billed at this point! In September 2017, I signed a water softener contract where my payments went against the cost of the rental unit. Sold my house in August 2021, called Culligan to settle up. They told me they didn't do contracts like this. I disagreed. They said they'd look into it. Months went by, while they had no answers, but they kept billing. In December, after who knows how many calls. someone told me the Regional Salesperson Kriss sent me an email with "what my answer was." I looked. There was no email. I asked if they would just tell me on the phone, so we could get this done. I was told my answers were in the email. I asked them to resend it. They told me they couldn't do that. I asked to have a manager call me. No one did. In 2022 I've left voicemail after voicemail for Megan Walker, the Austin Manager. She never returned my calls, instead having a sales person contact me, via text, at 7:46 on a Friday night. He knew nothing about my account or history, again told me I was wrong about the contract, and then got snarky with me - see attached text messages. I told him to have the manager contact me on Monday - she didn't. Again, another call, another voicemail, another week with no answer. I had to literally hire someone to call and bug them enough that someone FINALLY RESENT ME THE EMAIL! Attached was my contract stating clearly that payments WOULD be applied to my unit cost. However, only the first 6 months of payments. They gave me two options: 1. Have the first 6 months applied to the MSRP of the unit of $2999 2. Or just pay the depreciated value of the unit, WITHOUT my payments being applied. They recommended this because it came out a little cheaper. Y'all, at this point, I've given Culligan about $4k for a water softener that I could have bought at Home Depot for about $1k. Now factor in all the wasted hours of calls and back and forth! Our 5 year old Culligan water softener has not been working for 4 months. They have tried to fix but don't know how. They are quick to send out the bills. Replaced an O ring, nope that didn't work , but $$$, came back replaced 1 more O ring, $$$ nope that didn't work, let's try this, nope that didn't work $$$. Today, Matt Metzner from Culligan came to our house to correct an issue left by a prior tech when he changed the settings in our unit. Matt showed much expertise and courtesy in his visit; we hope that Culligan will continue to send great technicians such as Matt in the future to our house. I have had the worst experience dealing with this company. After the freeze, they sent someone to check out my system and charged me $150. The person that came could not identify the tank that had been broken, even though it had been installed by them 3 years prior. He was supposed to contact me back, but never did. When I received the bill, I contacted them back to find out how to replace the broken tank. One manager said he would credit the charge and send someone else to inspect the system for what I need. That person came out, could not identify the broken tank, and then charged me another $150. When I contacted them again, I got another manager, Ian, who said that he would try to correct the situation. 2 months later, I have still not received a refund for either of the service call charges. Every time I call, I have to explain everything that happened all over again. This process has taken at least 4 hours of my time on the phone and in person, explaining my system, what happened, and what I need to the exact same company that installed the system 3 years ago. Now I have Culligan parts and need to find someone other than this company to service them. Prior to this experience, they had performed well. Judging by the recent reviews, it appears that something has changed in the last couple years. Does anyone know if there are companies other than Culligan of Austin that can service these water softeners? read more

We had a small issue with our softener system. The technician came out. He found the problem and had the system running within 30 minutes. He said there would be no extra charge, which was included in the trip charge. I got a bill in the mail for another $100. My polite requests for an explanation went unanswered. Three weeks ago I was paid in full and then they charged me another late fee (it was waived when I talked to the first customer service rep). While Culligan HAD good customer service years ago, things have definitely changed recently. For years I've had Culligan come out to replace the carbon inline filter for my water softener every year for a decade by billing me with a single invoice. Easy Peasy. But these past 2 years or so the price has not only doubled, but for some reason they seem incapable of sending me a single invoice for a simple job. Instead they treated me with suspicion by billing me two weeks prior for the service call (rudely I might add), billing me again at the time of service and then a third time a month later for the taxes on that job. When I expressed my dismay at their increased prices, clunky customer service and awkward billing format the woman seemed obtuse and completely unfazed by my dissatisfaction, assuming I would just be back next year to get fleeced by them once again. I work at a school and provide water for my students because the fountains have been shut down due to COVID-19. On Monday when the delivery guy dropped by for the exchange, I told him that we are closing up for the summer, so no need to leave new bottles. Just collect the bottles we had to be returned. At that time, I had a couple of students in my classroom for tutoring. The delivery guy thought he would be funny and blurted out, " What are you going to be drinking now, beer?" This comment is extremely inappropriate to make in front of thirteen year old children AND in a school setting. I am sorry the students had to endure this behavior for the lack of capacity and restraint the delivery guy practised was uncalled for and preventable. Do better. read more

its an absolute joke the way this company deals with their customers. they cant warranty a brine tank without some crazy run around trying to make me pay out of pocket first then contact someone else for reimbursement. they took over servicing my area, from the culligan dealer who sold me the system, but wont warranty the product because they didnt sell the product originally. want to charge me to replace a warranty item, and then call the original company and get them to reimburse me the money for services they didnt do. i finally had to take it to corporate.its an absolute joke the way this Austin company deals with their customers. they cant warranty a brine tank without some crazy run around trying to make me pay out of pocket first then contact someone else for reimbursement. i contacted culligan temple to replace a broken brine tank. they point me to austin because austin took over servicing my area, from the culligan dealer who originally sold me the system. but austin wont warranty the product because they didnt sell the product originally. want to charge me to replace a warranty item, and then call the original company and get them to reimburse me the money for the brine tank. call a company to get money from them for services they didnt do. i finally had to take it to corporate. its a simple warranty claim, how can it be so difficult. the technician who came to fix the tank was amazing and did great work, said its a simple warranty claim. month later i get a bill for 385 dollars i need to pay, and they told me i need to pay, and contact the original company for reimbursment. ridiculous. read more

What a useless company. We are on their Gold plan, which allows us to schedule salt deliveries to our home. We have been waiting 4 months for a delivery...each time we are scheduled (3 times), no one shows up. When we call, we are just given excuses. "Oh, the delivery person had too many deliveries to make that day". "Oh, he is just 20 minutes away". "We had a system update and it messed up our deliveries". But oddly enough, no one bothers to contact us with a revised delivery date/time. It's crickets from this company. We have wasted so much time waiting for salt deliveries that never happen. So as soon as this 15-year old system wears out, I'm ditching this worthless company and going with a different water softener company. No. Just...No. We rented from them for 15 freaking years. My softener went out, they sent out a tech to check it out. He was here a long time, said he "cleaned out the lines" and everything was fine. (This is an older small unit that over time I've paid nearly $9000 for.) We had to wait several days for him to come, and I had to call twice to even get that. So, a few days later, same thing. Toilets flush, but sinks dribble...No water for showers, etc. (Again) I call my trusted plumber from EZFlow. He says there is resin in all the faucets and it's clear the unit is bad. And, it would have been clear to the tech it was bad. So, I call and bitch, naturally. This is costing me MONEY, TIME, AGGRAVATION, and I've barely got water. Eventually the "tech manager" calls me back, listens, and says he needs to come over to assess, and can he come this afternoon? Sure, no problem. So, I wait. All afternoon. Nothing. I'm cancelling our account with them, and buying one from someone else. No way to treat a long time customer who has paid them thousands with only 2 or 3 calls for service in all these years. NO WONDER their reviews suck!! Count me amongst their disgruntled EX customers. read more

Gold plan member here. My recommendation - take your money elsewhere. Culligan says I can't schedule my filter change until May (one year from my last filter change) or until it gets closer to May because they only change filters once per year for gold members. I pre-pay each year for this plan (pay a year in advance) so I should be able to have the filters changed when I know they need to be changed. I'm not asking for a "free" filter change. I'm asking to schedule what I've already paid in advance for, etc. The city recommends changing reverse osmosis filters before drinking the water following the winter storm, power outages, and water shutoffs, etc. So, until the RO filters are changed - I'm unable to drink the RO water. read more

These people are a waste of time, I dealt with a lady with the letter F as her first name and a guy with the letter S, can't name people on Yelp.... So, I talked to the F lady last week to re establish an old account, she said she would get it started back up and not charge me a deposit and I could keep my same rates. So I drive in traffic today to go pick up tanks and when I get there I'm told I have to wait for the guy with S name so I can do a new contract, I wasn't told that I had to do a new contract last week. So, I'm fine with it, but he's asking me all these questions that they already have the answers to, I literally just gave the updated info to the counter lady, he could've pulled it up on his computer. He tells me that I have to pay $120 instead of $100 and I have to pay a $400 deposit and I'm like no, the F lady told me I didn't, he was like well I'm the one that makes that decision not her, and it's $120 and $400 I was like nope, asked him his last name so when I contact corporate and he told me to leave and never come back, filled me outside and when I told him I was going to review his company online he said well I can do the same for your company!!! I was floored by that response, he basically said he would retaliate against my company for reviewing his POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, and lack of communication with his employees. I horrible customer service they don't tell you when they will delivery your supplies then call during the middle of the work day like i'm supposed to drop everything and meet them, when I explained I couldn't take off work and could they schedule something for later afternoon to accommodate me schedule they basically said no we'd try if we can, but its not likely!! After my appointment with the rep today I'll update my review. Fingers crossed! After the meeting: I am a true believer in the Culligan system and sales team. Brenda was really amazing and eased my mind completely. She let me know the other companies were using scare tactics to get me to buy. She gave me the facts and left them with me...no pressure.
