Great place! We went with a larger group. We had to be separated to two tables, but it worked. The service was great. I had the turkey pastrami on the pretzel bun. It was delish! The pretzel bun was over the top. It was perfectly messy! The Giddy Up Espresso Martini was really good. Interesting cinnamon vanilla flavor. It was a bit loud and I would have loved a little more space. We were in a booth that was a little cramped, but not horrible. I want to try it again with a smaller group. read more

Wife N and I are visiting from Portland for a quick 5-day getaway. Today we're hitting an event in Denver, and swung through Culinary Dropout for a quick lunch on the way. One word: wow. Pretzels and Fondue were amazing, pretzels hot and fresh and made all day long. That was a huge portion for an App, the two of us couldn't finish it. On to the Prime Rib dip, which we shared with a side of Caesar salad. Our server served it split as we were sharing, nice touch! This is the best beef dip I've ever eaten. You know when you bite into an average dip, it tastes, basically, like beef, cheese and bread? This one tasted like biting into a Prime Rib. Served shaved and mid rare, it was delicious as was the house made jus and creamy horseradish sauce. Best we've ever had, and well worth the somewhat high $25 price. Service excellent, food excellent, definitely a place we're keeping on our "must be back" list. read more

Great spot in town to try. We had a large party and they put us in a private room that even had curtains that closed which was great. Our server was a young lady who was SO on top of things even with our large party- she was a rockstar. (Angel may have been her name?) The food was great, drinks were great. Everyone had a great time. They cleaned off spaces for us by the live music after so we could hang there. Great experience. read more

The food was delicious, I'd suggest getting the fries and fried chicken it is well worth the wait and the pricing is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. the waiters are amazing and the over all feeling of CD is great. read more

It was an okay place. Parking will be on the surrounding streets. I was able to get a spot on the street in front of the restaurant. Walked in and asked about sitting in front of the Converse wall and they were able to accommodate us, a party of 4. We ordered drinks and ordered off the charcuterie board menu. That was pretty tasty. It can add up though, so maybe just get the prepared one on the menu instead of adding a whole bunch of things. The inside was not too busy but the outside patio was packed. Our drinks came a little bit slowly. Our brunch item foods came SUPER slow and the server , kitchen AND manager came to apologize because the items we ordered didn't come complete and they ran out. Kind of mad that they couldn't be upfront about a slow or backed up kitchen , made us wait all that time to say sorry and then "oopsies , your not going to get everything and we're not going to make it right either" they replaced one person's potatoes with a basic McDonalds looking hash brown patty and then offered some hot sauce from his personal stash. WTH? So weird and not cool for $150. I loved the decor but not the visit . We even mentioned we've never dined here before when we sat. Most likely won't be back and if we do visit again it'll be for an evening visit and not brunch. read more

Excellent food and service! I was never so happy to discover a Culinary Dropout in Denver! I have been to three of their locations in Arizona,.love the food, service,.and vibes! Our server was Shawn. He was so friendly and helpful. He came back frequently to check in on us. He also offered to pack up.my ice tea to go! What service! This place is huge, just like their other restaurants! Their concept is great with the cozy outside enclosed patio that has comfy outside sofas and fire puts. Inside lots of booths with comfy chairs. I love the wall of sneakers inside, very nice touch. Overall, nice relaxing atmosphere! Now for the food! I ordered my usual, Turkey Pastrami on a housemade Pretzel Bun! Just OMG so good! It comes with fries or house salad, their house salad is great! Two of us ordered the Turkey Pastami and the third ordered the Chicken Katsu Sandwich, also a great option! Culinary Dropout is such a fine establishment and great to see them expand (the OG location is in Tempe, AZ). read more

Really good drinks and cool atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and i loved that they were able to wear clothes that fit their styles. Food was amazing as well, definitely recommend the chicken katsu sandwich read more

What an amazing find in Denver - perfect mix of cool vibes, tasty food and great service! We started off with the pretzel and cheese fondue appetizer - don't sleep on this one. It is so tasty and even comes with a little candle lit fondue set for the table to keep the cheese nice and melty. For entrees we got the burger, chicken katsu sandwich, pastrami sandwich and chicken chop salad. Stand out dish was the katsu - so crispy and bread was butterific. Wow. Fries could have been zestier. Chicken on salad was tasty - wished there had been more of that and less of the bacon. Service was fast and friendly. Overall a great spot for brunch, lunch or dinner - and drink menu is extensive for those wishing for that as well. Artwork was fun and unexpected - my son loved the converse sneaker wall and I loved the beautiful plants all around the space. Well done! read more

We decided to brunch at the Culinary Dropout, and let me tell you, it's a good spot! The restaurant is spacious and a strong vibe with staff that are attentive. The food is pretty darn good and the coffee was surprisingly tasty. Our crew ordered a breakfast sandwich, banana bread French toast, two eggs any style, and little add-ons like soft pretzel buns and biscuits. My only gripe is that the restaurant temperature was off with some parts cold while other parts hot as a toaster. But, we managed, and I find the overall experience and food to be great. read more

I've been here a few times now and I felt the need to write about it this last time I was there. My friends and I had a reservation for brunch on a Saturday morning. It's not very busy at 10:30am so we probably did not need a rezy but we're old and we're planners. The space is super airy and cute. I would say vibes are good for those who partake in the vibe check lol. I ordered the breakfast pizza and honestly I was BLOWN AWAY. This was bomb dot com. Like FIRE. The edges of the pizza are crispy. There's bacon, there's egg, there's hash brown. The dough is soft and dense in the right way. The sauce is cheesy and savory and it's honestly the best breakfast I've had in a while. I drizzled some cholula on top and it rounded it out perfectly. It is pricey but it's such a large serving you could save half for later. I am breastfeeding and was able to chow down three of the four pieces and share the fourth so I was pretty impressed with myself hahaha. Service was great, our server was sweet and attentive. 10/10 would go back just for that breakfast pizza. read more

The truffle mushroom pizza is amazing! It was too good to even stop and take a picture for! Service was quick on a Saturday at lunch time. The patio was taken by a private party but there was lots of other seating and a live musician singing which was nice. Staff was all very friendly as well. Parking is limited but was able to find a spot after a lap. Definitely want to try more items on the menu in a future visit orrr just get another truffle pizza! read more

I love this spot! The layout of this space is so functional and fun. The Brussels sprouts are drool worthy and have the perfect amount of spicy kick to them. I normally order the fish n chips and the outer crust is so flaky and delicious. Hands down, the best fish n chips in Denver. My mouth is watering now just thinking about this place. Taste buds are taste budding here, every time! read more

Service was excellent from the start. From the hostess, to our server, to whoever was dropping something off, every interaction was great. We ordered the wagyu pigs in a blanket and whipped feta as appetizers and both were delicious. I'll be thinking about those pigs in a blanket for a while! For lunch the table ordered the prime rib dip (everyone raved), the crispy chicken katsu (crushed it), pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza (so much food!), and the pork belly nachos (finger lickin good). The restaurant is a fun hip atmosphere. Would definitely love to stop in again next time we are in town for a game day. read more

Took an out-of-town friend to Culinary Dropout for a drink and apps. I had been to Culinary Dropout for parties and dinner, but not to sit at the bar for drinks. Harley was our bartender. I've always passed this establishment on my way to other places of businesses here. And I always said I'll eat here one day. My friend brought me here last night for a belated birthday dinner. The restaurant has a nice clean vibe to it. Very much my style. I ordered Mongolian short ribs and my friend ordered popcorn shrimp. Both of our meals felt like they were heavy handed with salt. I'm assuming the sauce on my dish is salty as it's Mongolian but she had to replace her meal with another dish. Our server Jason Was attentive though we didn't understand why he took away our charcuterie menu as we might have wanted to order it afterwards possibly for takeout in which I did. I ordered the slicer and was not impressed. You'd get better quality at an actual charcuterie establishment. ***. This establishment does offer military discounts. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Culinary Dropout! The food, drinks, and service are exceptional, whether you're dining with a small group or hosting a large event. I've dined there with my spouse, hosted a CU Physical Therapy reunion, and most recently, brought a group of 20 family and friends there following a memorial service. Our memorial service ended earlier than expected, so I called to ask if we could move our reservation up by an hour. The staff graciously accommodated us. When we arrived, they were incredibly welcoming and kind, even acknowledging that we had just come from a memorial service. The service was timely, attentive, and absolutely on point. Twenty different orders from the menu didn't phase them, and every meal was superb. What touched me most was the kindness they showed during such a difficult time. Knowing that I had just experienced a tremendous loss, they surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. It was such a thoughtful gesture that I was moved to tears. Culinary Dropout will forever be a favorite of mine. read more

Went here on a Sunday evening and the ambiance was lovely. Loved how spacious it was and the artwork of Chuck Taylor's on the wall. I wanted to enjoy this place but honestly it was just okay and I don't think I would come back here again. I think the issue I had is that the service was okay, but the food looked better than it tasted. I initially ordered the popcorn shrimp and it was too salty so I swapped it for pork ribs which was better tasting. I also have their zero proof drink , it was yuzu but I didn't taste a hint of yuzu in the beverage and it was overpriced for $8. I just think this place was overpriced for the value. I'm a bit disappointed lately with the Denver restaurant scene not really turning out great restaurants. Also we got their slicer which was $29, which is ridiculous for the amount of food and quality, it didn't really taste fresh. read more

Located in an area with a bunch of up and coming restaurants. Parking is terrible (unless I missed a parking garage). The decoration and layout of the spot make it feel open and like you're not on top of your neighbor. The sneaker wall is awesome addition! Our server was great and was very knowledgeable on the menu. We weren't in a rush and after a while I feel like he was trying to hurry us along. Brought out the dessert menu while we were still visibly working on the main course. The food was delicious with lots of flavor. Prices on the more expensive side I'd say for some of the menu items. A variety of cocktails, the sangria was so yummy and fresh. read more

This place was well-staffed with good-looking, friendly servers. It's a great place to people watch. My Asian salad had dried mangos, which sounded interesting but the gummy texture didn't go well with the salad. The dressing was also a little heavy, and unfortunately didn't come on the side like I requested. The chicken pepe was very tasty, essentially an alfredo sauce. I was not a fan of the toast, it was too sweet and more on the hard vs crunchy side. Our waiter didn't ask how our food was or I would've tried to see if it could've been fixed. Cool place, but so many other places to get better food. read more

This was my second time here and I fell in love with the smokehouse hash. Crispy potatoes, a sunny side egg, tortilla on the side, and the soft pork...yum! What a combo! This place is a little pricier but the food feels very fresh and I love the vibes here - it's large and open, and decorated with a variety of colors. I feel like it's an elevated restaurant, but still homey and cozy. My friends and I sat in a booth and had a great time catching up. The service was good; they were attentive and we never had to wait long. It was easy for me to make the reservation the night before, and they sent me instructions about free parking in the garage across the way. That saved some stress and time on my end! read more

Great Atmosphere & Cocktails, But Overpowering Sauces Compromised Our Mains We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner at Culinary Dropout! From the moment we arrived, the experience was smooth and welcoming. The valet Channing was friendly and efficient, making arrival hassle-free. The hosts were very nice and accommodating, setting a great tone for the evening. The service was outstanding--our server, Hannah, was incredible. She was always on top of everything, so we never had to ask for anything. She also gave us a great appetizer recommendation, and we went with the whipped feta and tahini dip, which was delicious. The atmosphere was modern, hip, and lively, with live music and a cute stage for Valentine's Day, adding to the fun vibe. The cocktails were amazing--great quality, nice variety, and some special touches that made them stand out. Definitely a highlight of the night! For our mains, I had the steak and lobster special, and my husband had the 36-hour ribs. While the ribs were very tender and well-cooked, and the steak was nicely prepared, the sauce was overpowering to the point that it was all we could taste, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the dishes. On a high note, dessert was fantastic! We had the Valentine's Day special, and it was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Overall, it was a great experience! I'd recommend this place but would suggest asking for less sauce or having it on the side if it applies to your meal. read more

Consistently good food, consistently good service and probably one of the best sangrias in town.

The food is great, the service is also wonderful and the atmosphere is very cool too. If you wish to have a conversation in your table, try to get a table far away from the live entertainment if there is one at that time. It is a good place to take family and friends. read more

We usually enjoy coming here because it is pretty kid friendly. There is a little spot for cornhole where kids can run around if no one is playing. The food is tasty. Tonight I got the salmon and it had a nice crisp sear on the outside. Tonight we got takeout for the first time from Culinary Dropout. I was dreading picking it up because often you have to park in the parking garage if you are going to dine in the restaurant BUT...they have CURBSIDE! It was so easy! You pull into a circle drive, call the number and they bring your food right to the car! In addition to the pickup being easy the packaging was great! They wrote everyone's name on the outside of the meal container which made it extremely easy to distribute food to the correct person, especially since we ordered for a larger group. read more

This place is decent. It's a cool atmosphere but can be very loud on occasion. It's a bit pricey for what it is, so we don't go often.

Ordered the happy hour Spicy Shrimp crispy rice ($12) honestly not what I expected. So not worth it and so overpriced for a happy hour The vibe is good but the dishes are overpriced read more

Service was great, big huge restaurant but didn't care for the food and/or price for the food. You can easily spend $18-$20+ for a salad. Too much going on in the salad(s) and we didn't care for the flavor (esp of the dressing and quantity of dressing). Spent over $65 for a couple salads and couple beers (without tip). We were offered free pretzels - but we won't be back to redeem. read more

I have watched this restaurant deteriorate, and tonight was the last straw. Our waiter had too many tables and was remarkably inexperienced. It appeared they might have been severely shorthanded but having worked as a waiter I can only say this whole crew needs more training. We waited and waited for our food. I ordered a dish they call "yesterday's soup". What I received was a bowl of chili that was too spicy to eat so I had one taste and it just sat there. Our waiter did not even ask why I was not eating it. There were numerous open tables. I witnessed in the kitchen through a glass window (we were seated next to the window) people running back and forth with no organization and with remarkable inefficiency. Hence the wait for our food was just far too long. I actually saw the food come out onto the counter where it was to be picked up, but our waiter was not available to pick it up. This was once a go to restaurant. Now it is to be avoided unless you are in the mood to be frustrated with the lack of experienced people. I think management needs to take a hard look at how this restaurant is being run. With what I witnessed tonight, I do not expect it to exit in the near future....AVOID IT!!!! read more

We were sat at a table right next to the live music which could be great for some but it made it impossible to have a conversation. On a recent trip to Denver I just knew I had to try this restaurant! The reviews looked good and the food looked amazing! We arrived late on a Friday night and there were still plenty of diners in the restaurant enjoying the evening. The restaurant has dim lighting and lots of seating, I loved the ambiance! James was our server and he was patient and able to answer any questions we had. To start we ended up ordering the crispy bread with garlic oil and balsamic and the marinated olives. Both were an amazing choice, the bread was perfection and I could've eaten a plate of bread and been full and fine! The olives were marinated in an oil with different herbs, and were not pitted. The flavor profile was wonderful. For my main course I ordered the Cacio E Pepe with broccoli instead of chicken and I was not disappointed. The pasta was cooked well, the sauce was flavorful and the broccoli added just what I needed! This restaurant will definitely stay on my Denver list! read more

Nice surprise! Decided to grab a late bite after a concert. My sister and I eat differently so it is sometimes a challenge to find a spot satisfying both. She wanted fish however and I was just hungry but don't eat beef or pork and gad fish the night before. We started with the fried chips and onion dip. Great to soak up liquor but a little greasy for late night! The dip was tasty however. I ordered the chicken pasta and she had the fish and chips. She raved about the light batter and it was cooked to perfection! The service was great and helpful when ordering. Will return to try other dishes. read more

We love Culinary Dropout! We stopped here for lunch in Denver before heading up to Steamboat. We visited during lunchtime on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty empty (though it is a very large space) so we were able to grab a table easily. We've dined at Culinary Dropout in Arizona, so we have a few menu items we love, including the pretzel bites - so good! And I love that they are served with a candle under the cheese so it stays warm. I went with the crispy shrimp caesar salad. This was so good, and the perfect size for lunch. I left feeling perfectly full. Our server was wonderful - I didn't catch his name but he was so friendly and checked in on us frequently. Another great experience at Culinary Dropout! read more
