Started off great. Good price. No issues until I forgot to update my payment information. I got a bunch of calls and we updated the info. 2 weeks later I get calls about selling my stuff off. I said I just paid. I would like to over my bill because I just paid. I was then told I have a $100 auction fee on top of what I owe. The manager said only a district manager can talk to me about that. So I left a message for the district manager but I haven't yet to hear back. read more

So, after having used Cubesmart since 2015, I was finally able to clear out my storage area and move on in life. During that time I had a number of experiences which were great. There were some others that were not great, but were resolved quickly. I found that interacting in person vs over the phone worked better to resolve any questions that I had, as well as when there was a rent increase, I worked with the managers and they worked with me to ensure I was a happy customer. I can say that I would never trust my things to be stored anywhere else, and I loved that the unit was always climate controlled, things were safe, the area was clean 95% of the time (yes there's room to improve), but on the whole, this spot is where you should store things if you're in need of extra room. Highly recommended and if I ever need a space again, I'll be back to Cubesmart at 810 S. McClintock in Tempe. Storing at this location was a great experience all around. Signing up and checking in were simple, and I was able to do everything over the phone. The unit was clean and as described, and the climate control was fantastic. This was a property-cooled location, with no extra humidity to affect my things. All my items were in great shape when I pulled them out of storage to move my son back into his new dorm room. Ending my contract was simple. They did not require a 30-day notice, which was incredibly unique. The team at this location made everything simple and easy for us. I highly recommend this location! read more

When Storage West owned it, it was great. After Cubesmart took over they raised the price twice. So be prepared, your prices will go up after you have your stuff moved in and you have no choice but to pay it or move out. which in my case I was not able to. read more

This place is a ripoff! I had a good experience previously renting at a CubeSmart but after my experience here I will NEVER rent from CubeSmart again! No one is ever in the office. Every time I go to pay my bill there is a sign on the door saying "Will be back at" and a clock. Routinely I have to make 3-4 trips before I find anyone in the office. Forget paying online: they want you to pay a ridiculous processing fee just to pay your bill. Now let's discuss their rates. In the two years I was there my rent increased every 3 - 6 months to the point where they now want me to pay over twice the going rate anywhere else! Salespeople. This industry is no longer about storage. It's about sales people working for the storage companies. And, it's no wonder the prices have nearly doubled. Who pays the price? Of course, the end user. I was inundated with storage sales calls after my initial query. This place is clean and nice but in 1 year they've INCREASED RENT TWICE and the most recent was $40/month increase for September 2017. My original rate was Free first month then $162/month but they put in the contract that they can raise the price at any time. So after a few months they raised it to the regular rate of $182.09 and now they are raising it to $221.99. read more

This review is long overdue... We met Jennifer last spring when we rented a space to store our daughter's things during the summer. Our daughter is a student at ASU. Being the first year of "everything" and an out-of-state family, Jennifer made us feel welcomed and answered all of our questions. She went the extra mile to accomodate us and addressed all of our worries. She truly made us feel "at home." By the time we left, we felt as if we made a friend and knew our things would be well taken care of. Jennifer went above and beyond and did it with ease. Well I've been renting a storage here for over a year. We feel upon hard times, this last past month and we were a bit late paying our storage . This could happen to anyone. The entire time we were late we called and spoke with the manager every week. They would tell us it's ok . Everything is fine. While still calling my phone ON A DAILY BASIS. LONG STORY short we ended up paying the storage rent with an auction fee tagged on of$110.00. Even though they didn't have to auction the storage, which by the way they want to auction your storage off after 40 days of being late. These people working at this location treat you like a number, they are not aware of how to build repor with their customers. I am almost positive they don't have return customers and if so at a very low rate. I attempted to talk to the manager and again I was treated like a number. If you can help it don't use this place. Our entire storage gas been searched through and who knows if there is anything missing because it's gone now so, how would we know. I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience and their lack of basic human compassion. They would not return my $110.00 . She stated it was a state law that says that between 32 and 40 days this fee must be assessed. They charged us the fee on the 34th day, even tho we had spoken to her that day and told her that we would be down the following day to pay it. Which is why I assume that they charged it. read more

Do not use this facility if Manager David Snedeker still works there. He gave me a terrible customer service experience, through dishonesty and gaslighting. While setting up for a major move from Oregon to Arizona (smaller apartment in AZ), I found their facility by searching online and made a reservation with my e-mail and phone number on their website. I received a phone call a couple hours after making the reservation, and was told that sign-in only takes about 10-15 minutes. I repeatedly asked if I needed to do anything else before arriving at their facility in AZ, since this was my first time using self-storage. He said no and assured me that the process was simple and would go smoothly once I arrived; he said the online sign-up and phone call was all that was needed. After four 14-hour days of packing, cleaning, driving, and more unpacking and cleaning, I went into their office to get the rental agreement signed. It was only then that Manager David Snedeker informed me that I needed to purchase a disk lock and also set up renter's insurance (something the person on the phone never mentioned). This left me standing in their office for an hour, signing up for expensive renter's insurance -- meanwhile, precious time was ticking away on my truck rental. I told Manager Snedeker that the person who does these phone calls needs to inform renters of these extra costs and extra time requirements, since it would have been MUCH easier for me to get the renter's insurance ahead of time rather than wasting it in their office. He then proceeded to tell me that the requirement for renter's insurance was "on their website in big letters right above the 'accept' button," insisting that there was no reason for me to not have known about this requirement before arriving. He then proceeded to print out the screen from the website and highlight the renter's insurance requirement, which was actually contained in a sidebar box where ads are normally kept. I told him adspace is not where important notices should be written, and that 10- or 12-point font does not count as 'big letters.' He continued to insist that I had only myself to blame for this one-hour delay and extra costs. I left their facility in tears. Later that night, I checked my phone records and discovered that the phone call where the man had assured me that I didn't need to do anything else to prepare for my rental had called me from their local facility -- 810 S McClintock. There is only one man who works there: Manager Snedeker. HE was the one who had repeatedly told me the process was simple, and he still tried to tell me it was my fault I didn't know about the insurance! I went there the first thing the following day and asked for a full refund. General Manager Sara Krupa was there that day, and she was very polite and cooperative and arranged for the full refund. I went just half a block south to use Storage West and received full disclosure up-front, great customer service, and the same size storage room in a climate-controlled facility for $10/mo. less than Cubesmart. read more

Recently rented a storage unit space from here. Was able to get in right away on a holiday and rent a unit in a matter of an hour. So far so good but the only reason I have rated 4 stars is because their computer systems were down when I purchased a unit so the process took longer than it probably should have. I chose these people because they were the cheapest. Now I see why. I was told I could supply my own lock, get a ground level unit, & it was air conditioned. After I drove 20 miles pulling a trailer and was renting the unit they said , 1) " the door is 27" wide. You won't be able to get any furniture or appliances in. You have to rent a second story unit. 2) You have to buy one of our locks." And finally, when I got in, it felt non air conditioned. Swamp cooled at best. I was exhausted from the move so I caved but will be out by the end of the month. read more

The general manager (Jennifer C) is awesome. She is super friendly and takes the time to make sure that you are happy. She worked at another facility and she remembered me even though I came in very rarely. The facility is clean and the rates are very competitive. I have nothing negative to say. They were great it getting us into our unit quickly. HOWEVER, the company's policy of forcing you to buy insurance is nothing but a money grab. I had an appointment at this location yesterday to pick up a Penske truck at 9:30am. No one was there. And as I waited a slightly disorganized man came by and told me there was a manger who lived upstairs. He seemed to have some sort of storage need but proceeded to talk nonsense and repeat questions and tell me how his wife had taken 30 pills once... Well, an hour later, more people had showed up, bringing the group total to 5 and as 11 hit someone finally got a hold of cube smart corporate who could not really help us at all. Luckily Penske ended up having trucks at a different location. So I took my second lift to the next place when I had only intended on doing it once... Waste of money. Also, in that hour and a half time frame I was let inside the gate by another client which allowed me to knock on the upstairs door. Nothing. No one responding for an hour and a half. Multiple appointments missed and a conversation I would have rather not have had with a crazy person.... read more
