I previously had a storage unit somewhere else for less than a month. I decided to look around and stumbled upon cube smart. I've always seen it in passing I decided to check their rates plus it was a better location. I immediately felt safe, you have to put your code in multiple times the sense of security is so much better compared to the last place. There is good lighting, they have elevators, it's clean. The staff was nice Yamelis had great customer service she told me all of the important information and answered all of my questions. She was great! I would definitely recommend! We had to find a trustworthy self-storage unit pretty quickly when my uncle passed away, as we needed to move up his personal belongings from Florida and store them for a while. Most of the places up by us in the Woodbury-Waterbury area looked sketchy, were in possible flood zones, or were dirty...so we went south, back to our old neighborhood, to check out CubeSmart in Shelton...which we had passed by for many years. This place is SO CLEAN! We chose a 10x20 climate-controlled unit and are very pleased so far. Everything is very secure and it doesn't feel like walking into a horror movie. Ha ha. The staff has been very helpful and accommodating, and when we had some minor drama with the movers, they assured me that everything we were promised from them would go as planned...and it did. They genuinely cared about our situation and we appreciate it very much. Every time we walk into the office, we are greeted with a smile. We highly recommend this location. read more

Stay away from CubeSmart (Shelton CT) If I could put 0 stars I would. The facility is nice, but constant rate increases are outrageous. My rent went from $115/mo to $238/mo in 5 years. and If you are 2 minutes late, there is a late fee, and they charge you a 'convenience fee' to pay the bill online. And to rub it in, they are advertising unit my size online for $131.00. This is for a 10x10 unit with two large columns in it (I was told I would get a discount because of the columns.That was a lie) When I ask who I should talk to, I was told they would get back to me. Made a excellent choice when I decided to use this CubeSmart location for my need of a self-storage facility. The on site customer service center was staffed with the more than helpful professional personnel. The storage units are very clean and the security on site consists of digital access code to enter and depart from the location as well as video surveillance . read more

Went to a competitor first. They told me since I was signing up on the 31st, the one day would count as my 'free' month. When I objected to that, the man there was incredibly rude. Going to CubeSmart was like night and day. The manager was polite and helpful. He personally showed me around, explained my contract clearly and took the time to show me several different configurations for the size cube I wanted. I would recommend CubeSmart to my friends without hesitation. The people there are great, the facility is squeaky clean and the price is fair, especially considering how awful the experience I had at Uncle Bob's Storage was. read more

More of a suggestion than a complaint. Don't leave paying customers standing there in the lobby while holding a conversation. I stood there trying to pay my bill while the guy behind the counter was chatting with a guy sitting on a couch...didn't even acknowledge my presence, didn't even LOOK in my direction. We have used CubeSmart Shelton/Bridgeport Avenue for several years. It continues to meet all our expectations. The site is always secured and well lit inside and out.
