He kept asking me to change our pickup day and time. Each time I told him I couldn't change my plans. He could have simply told me it didn't work for them, but each time he'd say OK and I would confirm the day, time, and location of pickup at the end of the conversation. Then the next day he'd ask me to change it up again. When the day finally arrived, he texted me at 6:45 am and told me they were going to be almost 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Again, at no point did he disclose there was a pickup window. He had confirmed our appointment on multiple occasions. It almost ruined the whole process because we were picking up our item from friends, so I couldn't just randomly change the plan with no notice. Kareem was rude to me on the phone when I called him about this and said "things change". Then he billed me an invoice for our balance due before the job was done and texted me about payment. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

At the time of the order, I had no idea they were in Brooklyn. The site is clean and all the information is readily accessible. One can guarantee that this website did not cost a lot of money, but it works. One of the best things about this company is that they have pre-prepared packages of boxes, tape, etc. divided by room and/or rooms which makes it a little easier. They have boxes for junk, boxes for tvs, boxes for lamps - are you following me here? They have supplies for moving - tape, blankets, plastic wrap, paper. So I go online and make my order (FREE shipping by the way on everything!) and expect it to come in a couple days according to the site. After the confirmation of sale is where it gets good. 30 minutes pass and I get a call from the company saying they can deliver today, the same day, in the late afternoon. OK. One hour later I get another call that they can deliver right now. Yes please. Approximately three hours after I ordered many, many boxes, they arrived in perfect shape. Having no idea this company was in Brooklyn, I guess I should consider myself lucky. The customer service was fantastic and the boxes have been working just fine. Less than a week before my cross-country move, I switched to U-Pack (see my scathing review of PODS…read more- don't use them!). Ultimately our experience with U-Pack was ok, with some great features and others that were not as good. I ended up going with the set-up where you fill a portion of a storage trailer. (There were no cubes available by the time I called them.) When I first made the call, I received great customer service during this very stressful moment. Sure, they want my business, but the agent did a great job being thorough and addressing my concerns. Also, the automated texts throughout the experience were helpful. I appreciate the flexible pricing - based on the amount of trailer you fill - and they could deliver a full week earlier than PODs. Amazing! At the same time, other parts of the experience were not great: - I wish there had been information upfront about the size of locks that were needed to secure the door and the panel inside. I ended up having to buy 4 separate locks as I was attempting to get the size correct. - When we received our items on the CA side, two of our boxes had water damage. One box was so wet, that it was falling apart. The second box, which had less water damage, was an electrical device. Luckily, the electrical device was not damaged, and the seriously wet box only had exercise weights inside. The liquid smelled like water, so I wonder if it was something else that was loaded behind our stuff that made these pieces wet. It could have been a lot worse, but it was certainly upsetting. - The driver who ultimately took the trailer away after the trailer was empty damaged a tree. The city took care of removing the branch, but the incident should have been reported.

Andrew from MM tells me that's just what it is, there is NO explanation, does tell me I was overcharged by $45 (no clue if they will issue the refund) and then tells me to stop asking questions like a child and HANGS UP on me. This is a great example of how poor customer service has become too much of a norm. I am the customer, I paid the ridiculous price and was simply asking WHY.....and this guy Andrew is too bothered or unable to explain why the 50% markup. Never had this experience before and never had an estimate range THIS FAR off, and with no understanding of why. This should never have happened.

We originally booked for two weeks - took one week to pack, two days to unpack. BoxUp was able to pick up the crates early and get them out of our way. Braun was my 2nd choice--although they came in higher. Read your bid carefully because they said if a 2nd truck was needed the bill would go up almost $2K. It's their business--they should know from the home visit the truck sizes needed.
