We are very pleased with our experience with Hacienda Storage In Milford, Connecticut. When we moved from Milford to Vermont in 2020 it was necessary for us to leave behind some furniture and household goods, so we decided to use Hacienda for storage. The building and units are bright and clean and very well-lighted. The cost of units was reasonable. The staff was helpful and friendly. Especially helpful was Joanne Zarnoch, who gave us great info and guided us in the process of moving goods from storage. Three and a half years from moving in, it was time for moving out. Making more verbose update. I have video and picture proof of the following dating from June 22 to August 1st 2024. 1) Their AC was broken that entire time for the A-D section of the second floor, leading to temperature rising up to equal outside temps. 2) They had circulation running on one of the hottest days, bringing in hot air. When I first notified them, they told me it could not be shut off. But later trips it was shut off. 3) One of their two elevators has been broken for over 90 days. Documented from between dates specified, and also early September when I made trip back for non-refund of money due (noted in video). It was also broken for about 30 days prior to my documenting issues. Which means if the other one breaks down, nobody with items on the second floor will be able to retrieve them except to carry them down the stairwells. 4) Exit gate has been broken for that same period, including my trip in September. Allowing anyone to drive in (multiple occurrences documented) and park vehicle that can be used to load up items stolen from bins. Documented one instance where I walked in, took items from my bin, left, and was not approached by staff. 5) Multiple roof leaks noted in E-G sections, including one where they left puddle for days after rain. Basically, I feel they are letting necessary maintenance and fixes go undone. Which may lead to damage to your items stored there. My family, friends and I all have had storage units at Hacienda for years. Nothing but great things to say, it's exactly what you'd expect for a storage unit facility. No one has ever been rude to us, some of the below reviewers seem like they could do with some common sense. Personally have never had anything damaged, everything is always clean and seems well maintained. Great rates, easy to deal with and sign up or move units etc. (Just a side note, what fool thinks they'd let them use their truck to move out and leave the storage unit. Common sense would do you some good, you sign up, you'll be a paying customer etc. here use our truck to move in and make things a bit easier. Why on earth would they help you out when you're leaving and no longer going to be a paying customer .... Morons) read more

I paid more than $8500 on time for storage over 2 years, but management became irritable and intolerant during move-out, during a month that was prepaid. Disrespectful, hostile comments were made and new bills were sent for time already paid. Check the other feedback; something is seriously wrong here. read more

This is absolutely THE WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. In every interaction (besides, of course, when I initially signed up and gave them my money) I have been treated like I was a burden and spoken to with disdain. As a paying, honest, and rule-abiding customer, I expected a much different experience than the condescending relationship I found. If you sign up for three months, they offer a free month and a free truck for moving. I was NOT informed that the truck was only lent out for moving into the unit, not out. When I called as I was planning to move out of the unit to use the truck (I used a friend's car to laboriously move in), I was informed they would not lend the truck to me. Not only this, but when I inquired why I had not received this information earlier, I was told with an impatient tone "There are three of us here with a collective 18 years experience, none of us would have told you anything deceitful." Yet the omission of information upfront IS deceitful. The conversation ended abruptly when the man told me to "stop talking and listen to me," and I decided I'd had enough and hung up. Absolutely DO NOT GO TO HACIENDA STORAGE. Hours are abysmal, they're always closed, and treat you like garbage. read more

I've not had a problem with storing my items in a unit with Hacienda. My problems are with their loosey goosey invoicing and book keeping. I'll admit that I have had a few months where payment was past the due date, however their bookkeeper seems to keep sloppy records. There have been numerous occasions I have had to get in contact with them to request up-to-date balance due because their invoicing date seems to be all over the place, which causes payments to not reflect. I wouldn't say avoid their business because honestly the place is an internal storage, so your stuff is pretty secure and its clean and well-kept. My advice however is to keep meticulous records on your end and never call, always communicate so it is in writing. read more

Moving is never fun or easy but Hacienda made the process a little more bearable. Pricing is great and I got a free month and truck so it was easy to just go with them. Couple stipulations with truck usage but overall an easy option to have especially if you're in a hurry and don't have time to go pay and rent from somewhere else. Front desk people were really helpful and recommended some great movers. Hopefully I won't have the storage for to long but at least I feel like where my stuff is secure. Place is super clean too...so thats a plus. read more

I have worked intermittently (personal use, family storage needs, tenant property, etc.) with the team at Hacienda since there inception in 2001 and they have always been able to accommodate my needs. Bob and the rest of the staff are always courteous, professional, and willing to make the process as painless as possible. Having free access to their truck at move-in is an added bonus. read more

I have been using this storage unit for 2 years now and they have been great. The property is always clean. The employees are friendly, helpful and go beyond what they need to do. For example help me with bringing stuff to the unit, accommodating me with changes to the account. The manager was very helpful and friendly and more than willing to accommodate me with changing units. He also answered questions and made me feel they were there to help. I looked at a lot of storage units and this place was the best fit for our needs. read more

A unit was rented by my elderly mother-in-law to store furniture and she used the space for no less than 10 years as she moved from home to assisted living to a nursing home. When the day came to move everything out, my husband and myself (both age 60) came with a truck to do the whole job. There was a lot of work involved, but we were determined to empty it out and leave it swept and ready for a new customer. As we worked (very productively we thought) a young employee came down the hall and rudely asked if that was our stuff in the loading area. Obviously it was.We were told to hurry and get it out before the "bosses" got upset. Sorry - thought we were "customers" doing what is necessarily going to happen in every case - moving out. Facts: we were using only one cart, we were blocking no one at all, we were moving at a good pace, we only saw 3 other customers while we were there and we were nowhere near them. I can't even guess what we did that was so annoying to the employees/manager there. We were gone in 1.75 hours having swept out the space and leaving no trash. Feel like we were victims of people who are miserable, self-important and just come to work to be annoyed at ???? nothing. Just get up in the morning to treat people badly and display complete total lack of kindness or patience. Glad it's over and we don't have to pay or see them again. Just rude to be rude there!!! They gave me a great price on my unit. They offered me a free truck to move my items in and the 3 month special. I highly recommend Hacienda to store. Very Clean read more
