I originally rented my 10x20 unit shortly after separating from the Marine Corps. Over the years, emptying it has been a significant challenge. As a disabled veteran working full time, balancing this responsibility has not been easy. Wanda has been an absolute dream to work with--understanding, patient, and solution-oriented. Paul demonstrated the same professionalism during his time at the store, and Devin has also been extremely helpful. It is clear that this team embodies the humanistic qualities and thoughtful application of company policies that truly define outstanding customer service. Wow... THE worst customer service. The manager was always gone, and wasn't helpful at all. The whole day felt like a nightmare.

This is my second time around. Slow learner. Move in with a great price, and it tripled in 2 years. From $40 intro price, to $187 per month. And the price online was $80 per month but they would not decrease the amount. So I closed that unit and moved things to a less expensive unit. 2 months later it has gone up 25%. Beware! read more

I needed this place for a short time. It was easy to get to, easy to get a locker, easy entry. The inside was temperature controlled. No insects or rodents. It was quiet. Rat feces upon check in of unit. Safety of storage units are not secure. Entry on top of storage units could allow anyone to easily get inside to your unit. I requested a refund when we found the rat feces and urine, but only received partial refund after sending multiple emails, writing to corporate, management, and finally going into the front office where they said they would work on the refund immediately. I'm really disappointed as I have used cube smart in the past. I am still waiting on my refund several weeks after the fact. Today I have now been charged for the following months rent AFTER I have cancelled. Worst experience with a company ever. Take your business elsewhere. read more

CubeSmart cares very little about the safety of your belongings. Today (Feb 28th, 2024), after being in my units a bit over 2 months, I found one of them broken into. When I told one of the attendants that the I did not recognize the lock I found on one of the units, she literally said "oh, that means you have been broken into. Happens quite often around here". WHAT? I used those Disc Locks that they sell. Clearly not worth it, as it is evident than anyone can break into them. Find yourself another storage place that is more secure. INFESTED with rats!! Beware, I just moved my stuff out and found dead rats in my things and rat feces and urine everywhere. My stuff is ruined. See picture attached. I had no food or anything in my unit, just couches and beds and other furnishing that are now useless...and of course they refuse to take any liability. read more

A few years ago, I started renting a unit for extra stuff and had no issues until this year. This year, someone attempted to break into my unit, although they were unsuccessful. Then I learned that the DVR had not been working for a few months. The manager at the time was helpful in getting me a better unit of the same size the same day, but I was disappointed that there was no recording of the persons who broke in. At the time, the manager prorated my rent, gave me an extra discount for my trouble and got me squared away. I was receiving emails of invoices & payment receipts. This month, I got a call that I had short paid the rent, and that she couldn't accept the check. I asked what the total rent was, which sounded correct, and she told me what the check amount was, about $15 short. I asked her what the balance on the account was and she detailed that there was a $15 credit on the account. I asked to apply the credit to the next rent and the check would then pay the rent due in full, but she said she'd have to ask the manager whether she could apply the credit. I asked whether she could apply the check and I'd send another check for the $15, and again, she'd have to ask the manager because their policy was not to accept any checks for less than the total rent due. So I asked her to send me a refund check for the $15 credit, and again, she'd have to ask the manager. Holy smokes! This is such basic bookkeeping - apply the credit to the rent, apply the check, and BOOM. The rent is paid in full. I told her to tear up that short check, asked for a refund and decided to move my stuff. And now, my email address is not on file with them, so I'm not receiving invoices or receipts and I cannot login to see my account online, so I'm done. This is bonkers service. read more

Current date: February 7, 2022 Prior to the last 2 months I have made all payments to CubeSmart on time. January and February rent payments of $130 per month are due. Today is February 7th. On January 10, 2022 I received an invoice for $270 with payment due on January 31st for January and February rent. On February 5, 2022 I received an invoice from CubeSmart for $395 which included additional fees, a notice that my property is pending sale, and underlined text stating "All payments must be made at the Store in the form of cash, certified check, or money order." This all occurred after missing the January payment and February's payment being 5 days past due. When I rented the unit I paid online and checked in using their touch-free service. We are in a pandemic and they have not had any return checks from me. So, the only logical explanation is they are hoping I am out of town and can't make an in-person payment so they can sell my property. Two more days have passed and on February 7, 2022, I received another invoice. This one is for $585. This company has questionable practices. They aim to extract as much money from some customers as they can and then sell their property hence the rapid application of excessive fees to make payment out of reach. Penny wise and pound foolish. Because these very customers won't give them repeat business or referrals. I have a much larger storage unit with another storage facility chain in a nice area that is truly temperature-controlled, costs $25 more per month and not once have they pulled anything like this. I've been a customer of theirs for over 5 years. If they were in the same area of Dallas I would have used them again. Ethical business practices matter. Buyer beware. read more

These people are crooks!! My unit got broken into twice and things were stolen and destroyed. Then I got moved inside to two smaller units. When I tried to clear out one unit and only use one unit, they refused to separate them. Then I found out they were charging me $100 over market value for the units monthly. Then they tried to say that I had a charge back on my account although I had never been notified of this. Then tried to charge me more for a month that hadn't even happened yet. These people are crooks and your stuff is not safe here. read more

This place has very lax security.... the doors to the main building require a key code to enter but I've seen people bypass it by simply manually opening it with their hand . With that being said the fencing around the perimeter should at least have barb wire to at least keep random people from jumping over , there is a lot of homelessness in the area. My high end winter coats were stolen along with financial records out of my unit , they didn't break my lock but crawled over the top of my unit through an opening that lacks a barrier (pic included) . I'm getting out of here ASAP the crappy insurance they provide didn't even cover the theft , leaving me on the hook . read more

My fiancé and I moved to Vegas and left a few things in storage. Before leaving, apparently we didn't secure the latch on our storage door. CubeSmart staff contacted us several times due to concerns for our contents. Upon my first trip back, I came by to secure the latch to've found a new lock. I went to the office and the staff explained they cut the old lock and secured our unit with a new lock, free of charge. They were concerned about our contents. after years of having a unit, and making payments online, all of a sudden i am unable to login and make a payment. after calling them they tell me they have no email on file??? i have emails, bills, past due reminders going back for years to my email address. then ask me to come in to fix it. i am disabled and cannot go in person, and have no TRANSPORTATION was told that's the only way we can fix it. they are not sure why email address was removed? to be disabled, hard of hearing and without transportation, they say they need to have me sign some form and bring it in. The form they sent me by email CLEARLY says I can update my info ONLINE. the removal of my email address was a problem on their end, not mine. for me, its very irritating. customer service is nowhere it used to be. The absolute worst. In the two weeks I was actually at my storage unit, I was broken into twice. The staff could not have been less helpful. The first time I was able to watch the video (for all the good it did, their camera placement is worthless). The second time my unit was broken into I wasn't able to view the video. After leaving multiple messages for the area manager, I got a call back (4 days later) telling me that I wasn't allowed to see the video footage of someone breaking into a storage unit I rent and stealing my property. Clearly one of the employees there is woefully confused or outright lying. Furthermore, I signed my contract on January 22nd with an agreed upon move in date of 2/1. On the 22nd I was charged a late fee and the next month's rent despite the fact that I made it abundantly clear that I would only have the unit for one month. Between the glaring ineptitude and obvious lack of security this is the worst storage unit I have ever had the displeasure of using. read more

I am so happy that we chose CubeSmart. Today we had a difficult situation & Will was able to fix it easily for us. Each month people at this location (LBJ and Montfort) even change the humidifier in our unit for us. The customer service is fantastic; every manager on the property is friendly and goes out of their way to assist. It was easy to get signed up for a storage space here. This is a fairly new facility, built by CubeSmart, not an acquisition. This make it better because the newest way of storage is available such as carpeting in the aisles to keep dust down, snug storage locker doors that roll easy and don't move side to side so much. The security access is better because you need access to get through the gates and access to get into the building (this eliminates the possibility of people coming in off the streets to sleep inside. The facility has good visibility from I-635 and it is not tucked into some obscure area. read more

Love the service at CubeSmart - super easy to get set up, the staff is absolutely exceptional. Access to the units is excellent, I'm extremely happy with my experience at this location. I've had a small climate controlled unit on the 2nd floor - the elevators work great, trolleys are always available. I've moved to a ground level, drive-up unit and have been very pleased that the temps inside the unit are just fine even during the hottest hours of the day.I'm leaving a car and some furniture in the drive-up unit during the hottest months of the year and am not concerned about the heat - the insulation is fantastic and the unit doesn't get excessively hot. I would definitely recommend CubeSmart to anyone! read more

They are only getting three stars because of the decent service at the beginning, the location, and the nice facility. I did not have the funds to pay the bill on the 1st of each month because that is when my rent was due. I was also told that it would be $50 to rent a small unit a month (including storage), however they have charged me extra money up to $73.00 dollars to use the unit. I have spoken to all three managers and they are not budging as far as removing the late fees or just letting me take my stuff and leave. I was told incorrect information from Bill and Tanya. Chris seems to be the only one that has tried to help me with my situation. I asked them if they can change my date because of my payment schedule. They would not budge, they act like because they are holding your stuff that they are an apartment complex, and they are not!!! The district manager had the nerve to tell me "we need to make money" but he was able to waive the late fee. Wow, just wow. No great customer service at all. I can not wait to move my stuff out of that unit. read more

My storage unit got broken into at this location and they did not give a crap. Do not rent from here. Go anywhere else. Their customer service is horrible, don't bother coming here. We have had four storage units at a time at this LBJ location, and today proved, again, why these guys are the best. I lost the keys to my unit and called in a bit of a panic, and Rafik Music, the manager, took care of everything. He and his trainee, Susan (I think that's her name) made the whole thing so simple, and told me to come by when I could. I was there in twenty minutes. After getting ID from me, they sold me a new lock for $17, removed the lock with a grinder in a matter of minutes, and wouldn't accept even a tip from us! I wish I had called them days ago and saved myself all the anxiety. Ten minutes spent with themis all it took. I had called a locksmith before phoning my Cube Smart location, and they were going to charge me $75. Rafik was so kind and calm, and a real bargain! Thanks Rafik! read more
