*Hi, Just a warning this is a long post, but I like to be thorough and give all the information…read morethat I look for when looking at reviews. I hope this helps anyone who's looking for a storage facility. Life storage has been a lifesaver and I'd give 10's if I could. Previously I used Public Storage on 183 for several years but the facilities were getting worse the rent kept going up. Of 2 gates only one worked the other was chained shut for over a year and the exterior lights in the back climate controlled building didn't work making it very dark and I didn't feel safe anymore. After being told that they were switching the type of locks used and that I'd have to purchase a new lock from them for $50 I was done. I found Life Storage on 9602 Anderson Mill by doing an online search. It's near my home and their access hours are from 6AM to 10PM which is great, most places close by 9PM. The extra hour really helps when you're trying to move things during the week and don't get out of work till after 5PM. I would much rather have my Saturday clear to enjoy the day than have to move things. That extra hour really does make that possible. Another bonus was that it was so easy to get a unit, I didn't even have to go into the office to do it. I was able to reserve my unit, fill out the papers, sign the agreement and download a copy for myself pay the first month and set up automatic monthly payments online without ever having to talk to anyone at 11PM, seriously it was great. I got email confirmation almost immediately with my unit number, access code and the facility information. Next day I went to check out my unit and they had left the lock and keys for me inside the unit, it was so easy and convenient. The place itself is incredibly well maintained, its very clean and I mean really CLEAN as in it's shiny clean and its even smells good (unlike some storage places that smell musty) even the restroom is clean and I'm very picky about restrooms. It's well lit both indoors and out which is nice and I can honestly say I feel safe going there alone even at night which is important to me. The staff I've met have been awesome, especially Angelo. My husband recently lost my keys and Angelo was incredibly helpful both on the phone and in person. He was able to cut the lock off for us in just a few moments and he also looks very handsome holding a power cutting tool in safety gear. I was also able to use a lock I already had as opposed to having to buy a new one from them. I'm being totally honest folks if you need a storage unit small or big I would 100% recommend Life Storage to anyone and everyone who is looking for a storage facility long or short term. Added bonuses they are very reasonably priced and you can often find deals on the website like I did. In terms of quality I'd say it rivals any new build facility and probably surpasses them in the amount of care that is given to the facility by the staff who maintain it. Thanks again Angelo for all your help.

Was there for almost 4 years and service was great. Staff were friendly it was very clean.read more

Southeast Austin

I completely back everything Alex has said. I'm not sure why you continue to single me out when…read morethis was a move that both Alex and I were involved in together. Whether I paid or he did is irrelevant--we both contributed to this process equally. To clarify a few things: I had my own dollies and equipment, and both Alex and I were moving significantly more items ourselves than your movers were. In fact, I noticed multiple times when I went down to the truck that both movers were just standing inside, not actively working. Several items they did handle--like my paintings that were still sealed in plastic--were wrapped unnecessarily three or four times, wasting time rather than helping the move go more efficiently. Yes, the elevator used was the freight elevator, but even if it hadn't been, both available elevators were equally close to the unit, so the point feels moot. Most importantly, the way you've chosen to handle this as a business owner is honestly shocking. Arguing with customers, deflecting accountability, and lacking basic humility or professionalism--especially when we were among your first clients and you had no reviews at the time--is both disappointing and embarrassing to witness.

Took over 4 hours to move a minimalist 1 bedroom apartment 10 min up the street and charged over…read more$500. Didn't even move the whole apartment- just the large pieces I needed help with. Seems very high for a small living room and a bed... They later sent a receipt with the wrong amount I was charged. Felt like they were constantly running the clock as they took their time with everything: unnecessary over-wrapping of the furniture, claiming to need to disassemble furniture even further after I had already disassembled plenty on my own, and just overall lots of standing around. They dropped off all of the disassembled stuff at the new place and left. (Afraid of what the time would have been if they had helped with reassembly...) EDIT: Owner responded claiming there were no elevators to assist in the move when there in fact WERE operational elevators at both properties that were used by YOU so that was a blatant lie. Nobody else used the elevators during the entire time we hauled stuff to and from the truck... The original apartment was actually right in the middle of the complex so not sure why you're lying again claiming that it was at the end of a hallway...? As for the ridiculous claim about the truck's parking adding more time: the truck was parked at the entrance of the gate... Parking the truck a whopping 20 feet further to be OUTSIDE the gate would not have added "considerable more time" to moving the furniture and would have in fact saved time because you wouldn't have been blocking anyone inside the gate... Disappointed not only with how the move was handled but the lack of respect and lies told in the response. Extremely unprofessional.
