Anything I have tried here I've liked. Their sweet potato fries are a must as well as the chicken sandwich. All of their salads taste fresh.

Sooooo good! From the aesthetic appeal to the delicious food, I'm in love. My husband and I came here for the first time simply on a whim. This will be a regular date night for us! Hubby got the Che burger (wowwwww) and I always rate my favorite places on the quality of their Mac & cheese. EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED! read more

Was pleasantly surprised with my first visit to Cubby's a while back. Did a steak + salad type combo and the dressing and ingredients were fabulous. Unpretentious place to eat with a handful of great items on the menu. read more

I love their steak salad. My hometown has a restaurant with a delicious steak salad and cubby's has the closest steak salad to it. The BBQ mustard sauce is yummy. They also give you a decent amount of steak in the salad which is always nice. So when I am away from home and up this way I love to go to cubby's. read more

I brought my whole family here and ordered a ton of food. There were the typical mistakes made on the order that could have happened anywhere. It is how they dealt with the problem. We ordered 2 rosemary fries and 1 sweet potato fry. They brought out 2 sweet potato and 1 rosemary fry. They also entered the tritip sandwich instead of the tritip torta that was the special. So when I brought that up to the girl in the back of the cashier, she let me know I " you didn't pay for 2 rosemary fries." I said ok, then I also paid $3 more for the sandwich instead of the torta. So they balance out. She was huffy but said ok. Now when the fries came out they were old and soggy, I feel it was intentional because the the bad attitude. The torta sandwich was very bad and the egg wasn't over easy and there were only a few small, dry pieces of meat on the sandwich. Again, I feel this was passive aggressive behavior because of the bad attitude earlier. My girls always come here and I came reluctantly, now my reason for not coming feels justified. Train the employees that fries you charge $5 for that cost fifty cents are not worth the embarrassment to a customer. I also really think the quality has gone down hill from absentee ownership. read more

I really do enjoy cubby's but man today I waited 40 minutes for my breakfast and when we arrived there were maybe 10 people in the restaurant. They also told us It would take 30 minutes for French toast because they were out of batter which seems crazy It would take that long to make some French toast batter. And when the food came It was cold like stone cold. read more

For some reason, I thought this was a hot dog place, so I went in expecting a hot dog. This is not without some degree of parking lot dogfighting, Know going in that parking around lunch hour will be atrocious and it's a wonder anyone has straight fenders there. The place is kind of dinky and looks a lot like it was a BBQ place, just has that sort of ambiance. The layout is definitely odd, as journeys through the maze to the bathrooms will substantiate. Service was, to put it charitably, mostly brusque and very abrupt. All of that aside, we get down to the food. I had a Tri-tip and being that I'm trying really hard to get a handle on my eating, since most of the former control I had over it is gone, I elected to skip the fries I badly wanted and just stick with the regular sandwich and a fountain drink (they have Coke Zero, so good on them but the fountain mix was very poor, so bad on them). Given that it was lunch and crawling with people shortly after I ordered, but they were slow to get me what turned out to be a very uncomplicated sandwich. By the time I got it, the bun was warm, but the meat inside was cold. Not ice cold, like it had been refrigerated or chilled, but no more than room temperature. The beef was also overcooked. Given that they did not ask how I wanted it done, it very clearly is not made to order. The BBQ sauce on the very top layer of the sandwich was ok, but spicy, as I ordered, it certainly was not. The bacon was very well-done and crispy, which is exactly how I like it, but there was not enough of it to compete with the beef, the sauce and the bun, sadly. For over $10 for a sandwich and a drink, it's a bit pricey, but given the below average quality of the sandwich, especially in terms of that price, it becomes a lot pricey, pricier than I will consider intentionally choosing for lunch again. The flavor wasn't bad; it just wasn't great, either and certainly not enough to justify the cost...or the wait...or the irritating mess that negotiation of the parking lot entails. Pass. read more

Minus one star for the cashier who gave us attitude. The food though, is delicious!! If you love Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, you will love Cubby's Chicago Beef! I had the original beef sandwich. You can choose how much sauce you want- dry, wet, dipped. I chose.. wet cuz I like it wet. For spiciness level, you can choose girl, boy, man. I chose boy because I like boys. The beef sandwich comes with vegetables as well, a little carrot and celery. The beef was delicious. The beef was so juicy it made my bread a little soggy so you better eat it quickly! You gotta get the sweet potato fries with fry sauce. Those were delicious! I also tried the snicker doodle sandwich, which was decent. Now let's talk about the cashier. She looked at us and said... the food was really healthy (while we were staring at our greasy food). She also gave my order to my friend and my friend's food to me, which caused some confusion. Instead of switching our foods, she gave us attitude... read more

OK, let me start by saying that I really, really wanted to like this place and based on some of the reviews that my fellow Yelpers posted I was very excited to make my first visit but I must be honest and say that I was left wanting. First the soft drinks, the mix on their soda machine is set so low it was like drinking water, don't be cheap guys, turn the mix up. Next the pepper fries, just saying pepper fries makes me happy but when I was given my order they were already cold. The kicker is that they were pretty good, they were shoestring fries which I love and they had just the right amount of pepper on them so if they served them hot they would be awesome. Next the burger, I tried the Dragonslayer and they mix blue cheese in the hamburger patty and it was not terrible but it was not my thing. It was OK, but even if it was good I would have to buy two of them because they are just barely larger than your average slider. So here's the deal, this seems like a neat place and as I said I really want to like it so I plan to go back and try something different from the menu, who knows, if the fries are hot and some other item on the menu is better than the burger I may become a believer. As of right now, not so much. Until next time Yelpers ........................... Be Local, Buy Local, Live Local!!!!! read more

Took a trip down to Provo from SLC today, and on a recommendation stopped by Cubby's to get lunch. I was richly rewarded with a delectable array of yumminess. Nice vibe. ESPN on 3 TVs. Friendly service from Cubby himself. And most importantly the food.... before I discuss, a couple disclaimers: 1) I don't know what "real Chicago Beef" is supposed to taste like, and 2) Cubby's is a little pricier than fast food. (But if you're looking for 12 inches of mediocrity, go somewhere else). Upon recommendation from Cubby, I got the Tri-tip salad (which seemed almost counter-intuitive to get a salad at a "beef" restaurant). I was delightfully surprised with fresh organic lettuce and veggies, succulent meat, and a delicious dressing in just the right quantity. I'd definitely recommend it. I was also able to taste the Mr. Beef and the Heart Attack, and was smiling from the rich flavors and tender meat. Both the Buffalo Wing fries and sweet potato fries were great also. Personally, I'll get the sweet potato fries next time with the chipotle dipping sauce. Yum! I saw a coupe negative reviews and can't figure out what they are talking about, because I thought the food was delicious. My guess...just haters or "Chicago-natives" who are trying to assert a local snobery by claiming it's not "authentic" enough. Perhaps they are right...but my taste buds don't need to be from Chicago to know the food tasted great! Instead of expanding next door, expand up to SLC! read more

I don't eat bread for personal reasons, and the guys here made my tri tip on a portabella for me. Totally 5 out of 5 stars. Good food in Utah county, who knew? read more

Another place I love to bring people when they come into town. I love their rosemary fries and cannot get enough of their sweet potato fries. Quality food and I love going back. read more

I used to be a big fan of Cubby's when they first opened but the Provo location's quality has declined over the last two years. Their breakfast is for basic white girls lacking taste--it's all about the avocado toast and general plainness associated with all of their menu items. The huevos rancheros came out cold and were more bland than Denny's on a Tuesday afternoon. The breakfast burrito lacks any ingenuity and is not well blended with the different ingredients--it falls apart. Don't serve Mexican inspired dishes if you can't even blend ingredients together properly, and please serve the food hot. The lunch and dinner items are better than breakfast, but expect to wait 30 minutes for a simple salad. The Lehi location is better, but that's probably because it caters to higher income and a more demanding crowd. Don't waste your time at the Provo location. For brunch, Communal blows Cubby's out of the park. read more

Guys, I just had the best grilled cheese sandwich of my entire life! It had a lot of other things on it like tomato, avodado, spinach, and carmelized onions though, and usually grilled cheese implies just cheese or maybe 1 more item in it (just saying, not complaining by any means). It comes with bacon and I don't eat meat so I just had them leave it off. But in any case, it was amazing. I may even go so far as to say that it was the best grilled sandwich of my life, and I've had quite a few in my day. I'm interested to try their portobello mushroom sandwich and rosemary fries (..I hope I'm remembering correctly). Next time. Also, I love the wood decor and the fact that they don't use pennies. Yay Cubby's. read more

Honestly I only get the salads when I come here, but they are SO good. Tri tip is my favorite. Prices are decent. I love the feel of the place, and the service at this particular Cubby's is always excellent, super friendly and helpful employees. Recently they've been giving away more free meals and gift cards, which as a college student, that speaks to my poor heart. Keep it up! read more

Over priced and not all that great... I was very disappointed. I had the dragonslayer and it left much to be desired. Sadly the fries weren't that great either. For the price I paid for what I got... eh. read more

Hands down mine and my wife's favorite place to eat. And that's saying something because my wife isn't much of a meat eater. Salads are incredible AND filling. I've had almost everything on the menu and haven't yet been disappointed. Some of my favorite items are the Dragonslayer, TripTip Sandwich, TripTip Salad, and the Buffalo Blue Cheese Fries. Great atmosphere in the restaurant too. Clean, friendly employees, several hdtvs playing sporting events, etc. YUM. read more

Really great food. Everything I have ever eaten here was super tasty. However, the portions are small for the price. This is manly sounding food in tea party sizes. The prices might be justified if you left feeling full, but you will be left with the nagging feeling of, "should I go grab something off the dollar menu now?" However, you should definitely try Cubby's. The food is fresh and tasty. The bigger, more filling meals are actually the salads. I recommend the Tri-Tip Salad. read more

I have been here and ordered many times. I absolutely love the food. My office orders from here and spends a large amount of money and still the customer service has never changed. It is TERRIBLE. They have forgotten things without apology. It makes me sad since the food is great. read more

My wife and I had been waiting for this place to open and it did not disappoint! I got the "Mr. Beef" sandwich and she got the tri-tip. We also got some of the rosemary peppered fries. Everything was delicious. The Mr. Beef was a little spicy and delicious and the tri-tip had a good amount of pork and bacon with a tasty barbeque sauce on top. The fries were perfectly thin and crispy. read more

Love that someone finally opened a place dedicated to the Chicago Beef sandwiches I grew up loving. Cubby's does an amazing job bringing classic Chicago sandwiches and tastes to Utah County. Keep up the good work, we'll be back often. read more

I wanted to find a good burger place. We stopped in here and had a burger, the burger was decent but had no flavor really, and was disappointed they had no onion rings. And then sat down again on very hard benches the ambience was not warm and inviting, cold and hard and the burger was OK, I will not be going back. read more

Cubby apologized and did say he would look into asking her to tie up her hair. All is right in the world! I will be back weekly/biweekly! What I would recommend is the tri tip salad ad the cock a doodle doo. Of coarse the rosemary fries are a must. I also appreciate the quality of ingredients used. read more

Great options for everyone in the family. I love the tri tip steak salad! Amazing hearty sandwiches too.

I remember when this place first opened. I still had never made it in til today. I was definitely underwhelmed with what i was served. But let me say the employees were all friendly, and seemed to be getting along with one another. I ordered the kale citrus salad which came out very quickly, unfortunately it was under dressed and the kale was extremely bitter (left growing a bit too long maybe?). The meager grapefruit segments were sloppy and falling apart, it had an off taste to it. While the orange segments were good there were only 3 tiny pieces. And the avocado, where? For a 'dining out' salad the toppings make it a meal and should be proportioned so. I was unable to enjoy and consume most of the salad. My bf went out on a limb and got a burger with caramelized onion. The onion weren't caramelized enough to his liking, still crunchy and raw, but very juicy. He ended up taking most of them off because of how wet the bun was getting. Actually, he only ended up eating half of his burger because the meat was too pink for his liking. Overall our meal wasn't what we had hoped for, or expected. Not fans. read more

This is a great place to eat. It is fun and good. I love the tri-tip and the buffalo fries. I have been there five times now and I will go again. Try the rice crispy treats. They are pretty good and big enough to share. Cubby is a personable funny guy who likes people and makes you feel comfortable. He is easy to recognize, he looks just like Keith Urban. read more

I'm convinced the Houdini is the best burger in Utah, but you really gotta ride their asses to get it to come out medium rare.

Ordered the Tri-Tip sandwich. OK, look. I know the kid is trying, but first: If you're gonna promise garlic butter, ya know, put it on the sandwich. Second: Toast the buns and put that said garlic butter on the bun. That's a dry sandwich -- must the entire area be dry? but i digress. Overcooked meat? That's a sin, brother. And when you figure out how to cook a slower, better-seasoned meat, add more to the sandwich. I know for a fact that this sandwich was borrowed from the same guy that created the original in Portland, Oregon. (it's called Rip City Grill -- and it's the real deal. Check it out if you're ever out of Happy Valley). What made this guy such a success -- and deservedly so -- is that he piles on the succulent, perfectly-cooked meat and sells a bigger, much better sandwich. He takes great care in everything he turns out. He runs it out of a food cart -- not a building -- just so you folks know. And he wasn't looking to build upon BS reviews. Buying the storefront next door to expand, for example. Sigh. So congrats on your success but my advice to you is: Hone those sandwiches first. Then again, If he builds it we will come" always, foolishly, works great in Provo. read more

Great place! Lots of healthy options! Their lemon chicken salad is SO good! I seriously die over the simplicity yet deliciousness of the dressing combined with the juiciness of the chicken! Try it! Customer service is nothing to rave about, but also not horrible! Great for a lunch date! read more

Been coming here since they opened. The food is great but the service has really gone down hill over the past 6 months.

"Really tasty! Great tri-tip. It was hard to decide whether the sweet potato fries or rosemary fries were better. Our group included a salad eater and even she was satisfied and impressed. Oh -- and whoopie pies! (Yes, they ARE soft.)" read more

Excellent!!! Very good quality and freshness of food, and good service. Although nobody really likes to wait in long lines, it makes me feel good that a deserved restaurant is PACKED! I had the Chicago Beef sandwich which was very flavorful and tender. I decided to try both the buffalo blue cheese fries and the rosemary pepper fries. The buffalo blue cheese fries were inventive and fantastic! The rosemary fries were good, but could have used a bit more flavor. And last, but certainly not least, I would highly recommend the chocolate peanut butter whoopie pie. To die for!!! read more

Dragonslayer is the best burger in town. Tri-tip sandwich is amazing. Great service. Great atmosphere. Great all around.

I was disappointed in my take-out order tonight. We weren't able to order ahead of time (no one would answer the phone) so we went directly to the restaurant and waited in line for over 45 minutes. The people who ordered in line directly in front of me placed their order, got their food, ate it and left the restaurant before I was handed my bag. The food was cold when we got it home 5 minutes later (we live quite close). The Sweet Potato Fries were not only cold, they tasted greasy, and the hamburger was barely warm and was soggy. I've eaten in the restaurant before and not had problems, but I will never order take-out at this restaurant again. read more

If you like meat you'll love Cubby's. Even if you don't like meat you'll love Cubby's. What's so good about this place is that the meat is so good. I've had a few different menu item because I wanted a overall view of there menu. The tri tip is fantastic in the salad or the sandwich. Dragonslayer Burger is tasty and satisfying. The fry's are awesome no matter what you get. They make simple foods taste simply extravagant. Quality food and a quality dining experience. There is a reason that this place consistently gets great reviews, the food is dynamite. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is money. A hipster vibe with a young staff. The food is locally sourced, fresh and everything is tasty. The price is reasonable for what you get and the quality. You can't go wrong with cubby's. Every location, every time gives the best customer experience. They have the freshest ingredients. Deliciously cooked meat and the fries are perfection. Honestly the food and options are some of my favorites and the quality is totally there. With that said my review is more frustrated by the increase in prices recently. Cubby's use to be my go-to place for a good quality meal that I would probably visit once per month since I felt it was a little on the higher side of price, but felt ok with it being once per month max. My problem is for a stand-in-line restaurant, a salad and side costing almost $20 NOW is a bit excessive and feel it's a bit greedy. I mean, most people call Smashburger a bit pricey, but Cubby's has really taken the lead on this one and almost double the price when you compare side by side. I'm not saying to avoid Cubby's, just warning that it has now become an even more expensive place to take a date or especially family. Most restaurants start by increasing a couple cents for specific items, but they sure went hog wild to increase profits. I will now be a customer when I feel like treating myself every couple months or so. Can't even imagine how much more expensive door dash is now, no thank you. read more
