Since covid hit...doordash says that there can be "no special requests per the merchant" well I called my local Cubbys to see if that could be updated for people like me who have Celiac Disease and such. Victoria told me this is the first they've heard of the issue so she was totally amazing and took down my name so that I could still order from doordash and when it came through they would make sure it is made gluten free. Really loved this place during my stay in Provo. It's consistently fresh and appetizing, with lots of GF, vegetarian friendly options. But don't worry, there are lots of meat options. Great addition to the area. From the food to the sign to the atmosphere to Cubby himself, they are doing everything good so far. I've been there four times, and have tried the Chicago beef, the tri tip steak salad, the tri tip steak sandwich, the portabello sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was great. Both kinds of fries too. I would recommend just going for the staple Chicago beef the first time, and then just experimenting from there. Surprisingly, my favorite sandwich so far was the portabello mushroom sandwich. I wasn't missing the meat at all. As you can see, I eat meat, but I don't want to have to eat it every meal and I appreciate that Cubby's offers several tasty meatless options. Cubby and his staff have a good friendly service feel going too, which I hope they can keep up as they get more popular, which I'm betting they will. As one reviewer pointed out, prices are higher than average for a Provo lunch, but so is the quality of the ingredients. read more

We just tried Cubby's Chicago Beef last night and it was amazing. I got the Original "Mr Beef" and although it was messy, it was very, very tasty. My husband got the Chicago dog which was "meh" but our friend ordered the Dragonslayer (blue cheese burger) and it was incredible! We all tried each other's food, and by far we loved that burger. Even my husband who doesn't like blue cheese thought it was fantastic. On top of that we also tried the sweet potato fries, rosemary pepper fries AND the blue cheese buffalo fries. All them were excellent in their own way. Of course with any sauce topped fries, they get a bit soggy after some time. The sweet potato fries were great, well-seasoned. And the rosemary pepper fries were so subtle they worked very well. I think rosemary can overpower tiny little fries like that, but they did a great job. Overall, our experience was wonderful - this is a great "pig out" spot in Provo if there ever was one. read more

Had a Mr. Beef with extra salad(carrots, celery, and peppers that had soaked in vinegar), ordered it _dipped_ in some sort of amazing beef sauce. Best sandwich I've had in recent memory. The fries with bleu cheese and Frank's red hot were good, too. You'll need a bed of napkins to place underneath the sandwich, and then a few more in an attempt to keep yourself clean. First of all, YOU NEED TO EAT HERE. I am not one to really rave, but this place is definitely remarkable. I was kind of full from lunch when I ate here the first time, and so I ordered the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad. I wasn't expecting it to be the best salad of my life, but it was. It consisted of a spring mix salad dressed in a really delightful mustard vinaigrette. It had deliciously juicy, hot grilled chicken sliced on it that was seriously seasoned perfectly. I really enjoyed the fresh, crisp apples sliced over the salad along with the creamy blue cheese crumbles, grapes, and candied pecans. Once I started eating it, I couldn't stop. I seriously ate my entire salad, and I wasn't even hungry. It was one of those meals that was better with every bite, and although I have been back a few times I just keep ordering the same thing. Everything was executed perfectly, which really made a huge difference. I was really impressed with my meal, and this place is worth every penny. Growing up near Chicago, hot beefs were part of my life. When I moved to Utah, people looked at me with a confused look on their face when I mentioned a hot beef sandwich. I just couldn't find it anywhere. Then, my friend mentioned that she found this place on Yelp called Cubby's Chicago Beef. I was so excited to finally have a place nearby that sold one of my favorite foods! Love Love Love this place and I am excited for the Sugarhouse location. The beef sandwich is awesome! Cubby's is amazing. The Houdini burger is one of the best I've ever had. The meat is juicy and delicious (ask for it done medium and your taste buds will thank you) and all of the topics and the garlic aioli come together to create something magical. Fries (both regular and sweet potato) are also great. I've tried several other items and they've been pretty good. I love the tri-tip salad. I'm not too fond of the beef dip, but that's not usually one of my favorites. My wife had the grilled cheese once which wasn't really a grilled cheese (more like a BLT) and wasn't quite what we expected. But Provo needs more places like this rather than chains and that Houdini burger is just heavenly so this place deserves 5 stars. read more

Perfect place to stop in Provo! I walked with some friends from the BYU campus, and it was the best decision ever. The place has a great playlist, TVs, a super sweet staff, and amazing food. I usually get a Mr Beef and their rosemary peppered fries. I think my only complaint would be that they don't have dessert. Service was slow, sandwiches were sloppy and hastily thrown together. Fries were cold and lacked any sense of flavor whatsoever. Fresh, Affordable, So tasty! But lets talk utensils.. I love this place but get bugged by the ultra cheap little baby plastic forks. I suggest they get some better forks so people can dig into their salad! Also.. I've went to 3 locations and 2 locations were so nice and positive (Sugarhouse and Thanksgiving Point) but Provo was a little blehh; they got my order wrong 2 times and acted SOOO bugged when I said anything & I was super nice about it too. Anyway.. They must be students and got exams on their mind or something. The forks are really my main problem..guess I'll just have to bring my own next time. Breakfast at Cubbys is okay. Probably 3 stars. Many of their menu items are a strong 5. Like the tri-tip salad and their burgers. I had the breakfast burrito and my wife had huevos rancheros. We love cubbys!! Their smoky blue fries are amazing. They have gluten free buns (they are Udis brand so they have egg. I wish they would use local New Grains buns so I can have them but oh well) The salads are yummy and so are their rice krispy treats, probably the best one I've ever had that I didn't make! Also what is amazing is their breakfast!!! I'm gluten free and vegan right now and their pancakes are out of this world!!! I feel the food score is actually a five. The fries are phenomenal. The tri-tip hot and sweet sandwich made my taste buds dance. I don't even want to know the calorie count on the Apple Pecan salad, because it a full flavor meal all on its own. We only gave it a four, because they didn't serve any beer. Been here a few times and have always enjoyed the food. I've tried their tri tip as well as a chicken sandwich and both were excellent. Service was helpful but the restaurant itself was really small. That's only an issue if it's busy when you get there though. I've recommended them to several friends and will continue to do so to others. read more

The tri tip salad is probably one of my favorites. Dressing on the side because sometimes they over do it just a little bit. Also get a side of fries. You can't go wrong with sweet potato or rosemary.. but if you're feeling adventurous, their other fries are delicious as well. I always get the franky fingers and a side of mac for my kids.
