My friend and I had the Traditional Navajo Taco(s) and his wife had the Sheep's Steak Salad. Everything was delicious. I put the "s" in parentheses because the menu is in plural but it really is just one taco. The Navajo Taco description from their website: Our Navajo tacos are a true taste of tradition--crispy, fluffy fry bread tacos topped with flavorful ingredients, served alongside cilantro-lime rice and pinto beans. Whether you're searching for Indian tacos near you, Navajo food, or the best tacos in Provo, this dish hits the spot. Find out why so many call this the top Navajo taco at one of the most authentic Navajo restaurants around. Also known as Navaho tacos, it's a must-try comfort food. It was excellent. The fry bread was nice and spongy and the toppings were flavorful. The refried beans and the rice were also excellent. Not just good, but excellent. She really enjoyed her steak salad as well. All in all a really good meal, didn't even miss the gourmet burgers. So yes, you better make a reservation. And this was a Thursday night. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

LOOOVE their food. One thing is that they sometimes forget to write bacon as an ingredient on their board often (I hate bacon), so it gets sneaked in sometimes. Their employees give me weird looks when I ask to hold the bacon (I swear bacon zealots are haters lol!), but they're polite and give excellent food. The other customers are often rude and entitled (example: no one was in line, so I walked right up to the cash register, then a girl came up behind me who had a pickup, I let her cut since she'd ordered already over the phone to be nice, a young rich looking BYU Barbie and Ken couple came up all branded and looking like they'd spent hours on both of their hair in the main line section to the left. I was waiting to the right of the register instead of to the left where the regular line starts so he whined like a child that I'd cut the line, when I'd been there before they entered the store. I just left the line and went behind them to stop his childishness and loud unkindness. I wish the employee that had been working with me had stood up for me, but whiny rich entitled BYU kids man, they get their snotty way or they'll ruin it for everyone. No good deed goes unpunished I guess). read more

I love this place! Absolutely delicious! I've been to many times to count because I just can't get enough of it. Everything I've tried (tri tip sandwhich, drangonslayer, houdini, tetonka, steak salad, bbq and buffalo fires) is seriously to die for. All items are fresh and well made, and it is reflected in the taste. The Rip City steak sandwhich is my go to because it's so full of tender steak and tangy sauce. I have taken so many friends here and all of them fall in love. Even my mom who is a trained chef and food snob loves to come here. Its just so fresh, and so incredible! When we walked in we were instantly greeted and the guy who take care of us was very helpful and service oriented. He shared with us his favorite items as well as customer favorites which helped us narrow down our choices from the large menu. The food was amazing! I got the hash sandwich which had the perfect crunch, juiciness, and satisfaction while my wife got the Nutella waffle was Rich, savory and delicious! The only complaint was the fries were awful. They felt like I got left over let me finish this batch of fries. Lots were stuck together, they didn't have a crisp soft crunch or taste good. It because I was so satisfied with the bash sandwich I didn't feel dissatisfied. I'd come back but make sure my fries are better.

I'd recommend just that, but the waffles are to die for. The last few times I've gotten the Biscoff focused Founder's Fav waffle. The staff all have been patient, happy, considerate and swift. The restaurant is currently inside and clean and the menu has a good amount of options. You order at the cashier and then they bring you your food to your table.

I was able to park out front pretty easy but backing out onto the busy street was not my favorite thing to do in the dark. There is some parking past the light on the right, I wish I knew that beforehand. The little building is chock full of charm, definitely one of those hole in the wall places that has been around forever. That being said, I didn't find their menu easy to read. It was all over the place and when I looked it up online, it was better but still kind of hard. To order, one of the girls waves you over to one of two windows and takes your order, but doesn't have you pay immediately and when you do get to pay, you don't see the card being charged right in front of you, it's whisked away to the back. So you awkwardly wait around until she calls you over with a very polite "hey you". She will then give you your items one by one as they are ready. So while one person finishes their shake, the next one starts on theirs and if you order fries, it's going to take an extra 30 minutes of waiting out in whatever weather. But they do have white sauce, so that is a point in their favor! I was excited to have my guy try this place and he didn't think it was all that great and I had to agree with him. Our food was fine. The experience was the letdown. Oh and the spoon cut up the sides of my mouth!
