    Chicken Alla Vodka Sandwich

Everything about this place was awesome. Our bartender was so dang cool, knowledgeable, fun, helpful. The food was insane! That chopped sandwich is where it's at. And they have those little shoestring French fries. Yummmm! The bar area was super fun and there were TVs there too to watch sports and socialize. Plusssss there's a dang speakeasy in the back!! Just go down the hall in the back corner of the restaurant past the bathrooms and it's the last door on the left. So happy Downtown Mesa has an awesome new spot like this.

I'm so excited to have Crust Simply Italian in downtown Mesa! Located on Main Street near Center, it's on the first floor of the new 233 Hyatt boutique hotel. The space is beautiful with plenty of indoor seating, plus a patio that's a great spot to catch an Arizona sunset. We grabbed Happy Hour (weekdays 3-6 PM) and John, our bartender, took great care of us. He kept the drinks coming and the conversation just as enjoyable. The charcuterie board was both beautiful and delicious--definitely enough to share for two. One tip: if you upgrade your wine from a 6 oz pour to a 9 oz pour, it doesn't qualify for Happy Hour pricing. And don't leave without looking for the hidden speakeasy tucked inside the building. If you can find the secret door, you're in for some fantastic cocktails.

My boyfriend and I had a really great experience at Crust! We had ordered the Margherita pizza and a bruschetta trio. The pizza came out a little too toasted around the edges and the staff handled it perfectly when asked how everything was and we mentioned it was a little burnt. They offered to remake it and not charge us for the burnt one and let us snack on it while we waited for a not so toasted pizza. They also gave us a discount on the pizza. The level of customer service was unexpected and very much appreciated. Our server, James was phenomenal. My boyfriend asked where the gelato bar was because he had seen it mentioned in another yelp review. So James gave us a tour of a secret hidden passage way (it felt like that!). He pointed out and showed us a hidden speakeasy which was a fun surprise. The layout was really unique and made our experience even more memorable. Excellent customer service from start to finish. We will definitely be back to check out the speakeasy, grab some gelato, and of course to have James as our server again.

We had dinner at the newly opened Crust Simply Italian in downtown Mesa during their friends and family weekend and it was simply delicious! Similar to the Crust located in downtown Chandler, there is a speakeasy bar attached to this location. Bird themed also, this one is called The Nightingale Cocktail Bar. See my other review for them specifically... spoiler alert, it's great too! The food at Crust is very yummy. I think their pizza is actually my least favorite thing, even though they are named "Crust". Pizza is good, I just liked the other stuff even more. The pasta and appetizers are delicious. I really liked the shrimp, whipped feta, garlic knots, and burrata for starters and then I had the mushroom and short rib pasta for entree, I loved it. For desert we split the butter cake with the group, and ah ma gawd it was so good. I had already enjoyed some cocktails at the speakeasy before dinner, so I had an Aperol spritz with the meal and that was lovely too. Service during the opening weekend was very good given it's a new place and we had a lively group of 12 for dinner. The servers were quick and checking on us often. I would definitely like to come back during happy hour to try other items and enjoy a cocktail. I'll be back for sure!

Great new location! Had lunch with a friend and we had a good time. The drinks and raviloi pasta were delish and so was the vodka chicken. Service was great.

The food was absolutely delicious We will be back to try the full menu, but luckily we stumbled in on happy hour. The Caesar salad with meatballs for seven dollars was amazing and completely filled me up. Their version of mozzarella sticks was a lovely appetizer and I do not like mozzarella sticks, their square "sticks" with perfect marinara sauce and Basil changed my mind on this appetizer, highly recommend! My husband had the warm arugula salad, which I will be getting next time. I only had a small bite, but the texture and vinaigrette was exceptional. The ambience was beautiful and comfortable for casual attire. The highlight of our visit was our wonderful host for the night Rowan ! She was phenomenal, and everyone else we encountered was delightful We will be back and cannot recommend this place enough

Excellent service! The service was so good that I thought our server was the owner, but he was not. He was very caring and informative. The restaurant has only been open for two months. It's very spacious I ate a house salad that was packed to the brim with good stuff. Their pickled beets were so delicious. Oh my gosh, I should've mentioned the whipped ricotta first. We had that as our appetizer. Served with pieces of toasted bread, it was absolutely delicious and something I had never tried anywhere before. I will definitely order that again. I ordered the lasagna as my entrée. The sauce was very flavorful. The dish was very meaty. My daughter had one of the specialty salads and added chicken. It was a big serving and she really enjoyed it. My son-in-law tried the meat calzone. We were very full after consuming all that yummy food. To top things off we had the butter cake which comes with a scoop of ice cream on top and some strawberries, whipped cream, and other sauce. It was absolutely decadent. We will be back! They have a nice wine selection.

Service and food was amazing! I've been to all the Crusts in the East Valley and this is my favorite. They also have a hidden speakeasy, ask your bar tender for more deets.

Tried Crust Concepts for the first time and really enjoyed it! The pizza had great flavor, the sauce was delicious, and the fresh mozzarella and toppings tasted high quality. The customer service was wonderful everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience enjoyable. My only complaint was that the wine selection I enjoyed wasn't by the glass so I had to get the bottle. As a traveler that's never a great option. Other than that, it was a great meal, and I'd definitely come back to try more! My daughter enjoyed as well! They catered to her every need!

    Pizza

This had to be the best restaurant experience my daughter and I have probably ever had! Our waiter James was fantastic! Great sense of humor and fantastic service! The garlic knots are to die for! Pizza and past also did NOT disappoint!!! We will be back everytime we are in Arizona!!!

Enjoyed the speakeasy Thursday evening, Ethan was an amazing bartender and server. I let him know it was a long week and he made me a special margarita, delicious and was made especially for me! This is the third Crust location I go to and none of them disappoint. Great service and food every time, will be back soon!!

Boy did I find it…read more There are a few Vito's in the Phoenix area, and all had great reviews and photos that made my mouth water. Ultimately I chose the Mesa store because it was the original and I wanted to see Mesa. We started with a basic garlic cheese bread appetizer and it was great. The calamari was tempting but we'll save that for next time. Wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and I ordered the usual Chicken Parmesan which came with a side of pasta. It was actually a harder choice than usual because I walked thru the restaurant before I ordered and so many dishes looked good, as did the pizza. But I went with the usual. Let's start with the wife, which truly speaks to the five stars because she frankly doesn't love Italian food. She eats it when I beg. And she loved it. She actually proactively mentioned she wanted to go back. That's like 7 stars right there it's so abnormal. I agree with her. The chicken parm was fantastic. Amazing. To top it off, our server was great and when I mentioned we were new to the area and it was our first trip she was so nice telling us the history of the original and the other stores, and the manager later stopped by to continue that conversation as the server told her we were new. I mentioned that I live closer to the Scottsdale store, and she said it's the same food and I'll like it just as much. I'll have a hard time deciding which shop to return to - it might be worth the drive to the original just for the ambiance, but I'll give the other a try soon because it was just that good! 5 stars. Or 7 if you ask my wife.

I ended up swapping the…read morebreaded chicken that normally comes with the meal for grilled chicken to avoid the oils from frying. I also subbed the sunrise sauce in and it was so delicious. My only complaint was the portion size for the price. Normally I would get to chicken pieces and have leftover chicken. I remember normally going in and being able to split this dish with my husband, but this time it came with one piece of chicken. This was a little disappointed for the price point and hoping to get more protein. The other really annoying part when dining at Vito's is parking. I circled around twice including the parking lot by the car wash and State Farm and called Vito's asking for advice where to park and was told Walgreens across the street due to a big party they were having in the basement. Lastly, Vito's has a happy hour menu, the discount used to be better in the past so lately I haven't ordered from it. However, the frustrating part is in the summer the only way to benefit from them is to sit outside on the patio. I wish they allowed for seating for happy hour specials during hot summer months to be inside as well.

Of course it was always during the day when they weren't open and it was quickly forgotten. Finally the universe brought us nearby while we were on our way to dinner to another restaurant and the lightbulb went off "what about that Italian place near XXXX" and the rest was history. My goodness are we happy we had that epiphany because we just found our new favorite Italian joint. First off the service was fantastic and that was all courtesy of Sal. He is very knowledgeable and just cool about everything he says and does. It's like you're having dinner at his house. He just wants you to have the best experience without any pressure because he knows the food will deliver. I know It's so annoying to ask for recommendations but he didn't seem bothered by it at all. In fact he encouraged it and after taking his recommendation i understand why he was so confident. This place is just so damn good. Starting with the bread, it was fresh, warm and delicious. We had the soup (tomato basil) and summer salad special which were both great. Onto the entrees, the lasagne bolognese and the eggplant parm with ravioli instead of the sautéed spinach as recommended by Sal. Both were so DELICIOUS. The eggplant parm was light and flavorful which the lasagne was dense but packed with so much goodness. It was a lot of food so we had to take most to go, which will be another 2-4 meals for us. We finished with a chocolate peanut butter mousse dessert which was the cheery in top of a great meal. I'm so happy fate brought us here. I can't wait to go back.
