It caters to a younger crowd, whether you're bar hopping on Tennyson with a group or looking for a spot to take a hot date. For better and worse, it's a neighborhood bar at its core. The most shocking thing is how they transformed the space from the previous tenants. It has a beautiful open layout with nice furniture and design. The bartenders are generally friendly and prices are in line with similar cocktail bars in Denver. The few times I've been here I've been in a cocktail mood. Negronis and Old Fashioneds are made well and are slow sippers I enjoy. They do have a nice selection of wines that I'll have to try when it tickles my fancy. The only hiccups here for me are some really long wait times for drinks. They usually have two bartenders and sometimes it gets really backed up. No one is running the floor when I've been there bussing and wiping down tables. Though I understand with a location here it can go from being empty to completely slammed in a matter of minutes! So I had the time to drive 20+ minutes from work to get to the northside to try out the Little Wolf's burger bar located inside the establishment and called the "Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." (Don't ask me why.) I made the drive mainly because I'd asked AI where some of the best burgers were in Denver area and one of the answers (when I asked for "quality ingredients") was "Little Wolf/Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." Made the drive for the Durango-sourced Colorado Wagyu beef/cheese burger that cost just a bit more than $10 a pop. Rating right up at almost a perfect 5 stars, the drive was worth it. And what made it so great? Not just the burger, but because as soon as I walked in the proprietor's first words were, "Want an ice cream cone on us?" While I thought it must have been because of my stylish aplomb and in-command presence . . . turns out everyone gets the same offer. (What a great marketing idea:). Took my burger, which by the way, tasted great, but of course ate my soft ice cream teaser cone first. Turned out to be a fine idea. End result? When you're looking for a great place for a blue-collar burger at an extremely reasonable price be sure to make the drive to the northside to give Little Wolf's a bite. The beer is usually cold and affordable. Yes, there might not be more than one or maybe two IPAs to choose from. But, if you're looking for a good old American lager, there are several standbys available. And, top shelf liquors might be of a limited nature, but if you're looking for a decent booze at a reasonable price there are plenty of options. To me the Squeeze is a magical unicorn. It is a neighborhood bar. It is a frequent stop on the motorcycle aficionado circuit, albeit I find these people to be some of the nicest people you ever care to have a drink with. There's also a goodly amount of people who have been coming to this place for decades, people who remember when this was more the northside and less what it currently is. Popcorn is free. Sometimes other snacks are available. They like to offer free hotdogs and brats on Wednesday evenings, when the weather is cooperating. The bar staff and owners are uniformly friendly. And yep, you may have guessed it from the name, it's a small place, and it is a bit of a squeeze to get from the front to the back or even to get a normal sized man's shoulders through the door to the men's room. And the patio is more functional than fancy. However, they are also very dog friendly (which is always a plus for me). And I'm very glad that they are here.
