This place doesn't get much love on Yelp! I love this place so much more than Buffalo Exchange. I now live in San Diego where there isn't Crossroads, and I miss it sorely. I'm not sure what others' experiences have been but I've always managed to find more stuff here that I love for less than at Buffalo. The buyers here have so much better editorial sense than at Buffalo so the first line of defense is done for you! Which is why I'd sell my stuff at Buffalo but buy my stuff here! Duh. read more

Didn't sell any clothing or didn't buy any either the day I came here!!!!!! Aw shucks! But oh well I was just in the neighborhood and hadn't been here in awhile. Well, actually there was a cute sweater/jacket that I wanted-beige off.white that I would have found affordable and in very good condition but sadly it said dry cleaning only! Since I am tight on money I don't buy stuff that I have to dry clean. Oh well- hopefully I will see another version of that sweater/ jacket somewhere. It's so incredibly difficult to obtain a decent amount of money for your clothes here, even if you provide them name brands and the type of clothes they want. Also, when shopping here, the prices are very high when compared to other thrift stores. read more

I've sold to many different resale shops all over SF & the East Bay. These guys are always the best about giving you a good price for your stuff. I've always been pleased with the amount they accept and the cash they pay for it. They're also pretty honest with you if something is off-season, off-trend, or just plain off. The selling queue can get pretty long on weekends, so bring a book! read more

I love this store. Everything is organized and it is easy to find sizes, colors and styles. The stuff is in great shape and you can find nice brands at great prices. I have found great pieces there and have sold many things for more than I expected to get. Going there is a fun outing for my daughter and I. Staff is so friendly too!!! I love any and all Crossroads and have already found a few great vintage pieces (black velvet and pleather skirts, hello!) at this one, but the woman at the selling station was not pleasant. Not outwardly offensive, but just kind of a stank vibe/attitude overall. I've sold many pieces to the Crossroads in the Inner Sunset and even more to various Buffalo Exchanges in SF and Boston, so I know my taste is cute and not frumpy, as this woman would have me believe. cute, cheap clothes located close enough to BCC that i can shop in between classes? hooray! the general quality of the clothes is higher than what you usually find in a used clothing store. the buyers really have an eye for unique, well made clothes. i have never bought a shirt here and discovered it was dirty and falling apart when i got it home (cough, buffalo exchange, cough) the staff is nice and always helps me out if im looking for something specific. if you enjoy the hunt while shopping, this is a great place to go. read more

Crossroads is perpetually understaffed! Selling line takes a LONG time to get through, only to wait in line again to get your money. Some cute finds every now and then but be ready to chill in line. read more

The men's section is a joke as well as the men's shoes selection. I go here every time I'm downtown and I've found maybe two things here in the passed three years that I liked. I also have female friends that consider this place a train wreck headquarters for little girls that worship MTV. If you want a real consignment store where you can find something decent try going to Buffalo Exchange on Telegraph, Wasteland on Haight or even the Crossroads on Market in the Castro. read more

This Crossroads is not nearly as pleasant as the one on College. Half the stuff here -- including two jackets I bought, then returned -- have holes in them, are ripped, stained, or stretched. The customer service is virtually nonexistent. I've also noticed that this one has more cheapo-junior's-Macy's stuff, while College carries more actual designer items. Skip this Crossroads for the College one, where you'll save the same amount of money on higher quality items. read more

I made my first visit to Crossroads today and was honesty underwhelmed. Maybe my expectations were too high? After hearing story after story of fabulous designer scores from this store I think I may have set the bar a little too high. In general, I thought that the pricing was a little uneven. Fast fashion street brands like Zara, H&M and F21 are WAY over priced here, especially for used clothes. For the amount that they ask, you could probably find a brand new piece of clothing at those very stores in the mall (ie. a Zara dress was about $20, but I've found Zara dresses frequently during the sale season for that price; an H&M printed tank top was $7 but at the mall that is usually the sale price of the item) I will say however, higher end items are priced reasonably here. An ALLSAINTS shirt was priced around $20 and a Marc by Marc Jacobs shirt was in the same ballpark. I spied a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress in okay condition for a little over $40 and a Stella Mccartney dress for around $80. Their designer items are not too ostentatiously priced and the next time I have serious money to drop I may consider returning. Overall, their selection is sorted by color which I found a little irritating and to be honest I didn't really find any pieces that I felt were calling my name. I visited with another female friend and two male friends - my female friend left with a bag full of clothes, while both of my male friends remarked that their selection was rather small and was mainly comprised of size XL. I ended up purchasing a Coach bag that retailed for around $190 for $20- brand new, with all original tags. Nothing too special and rather unassuming, but really not bad for the price. It wasn't an entirely unfruitful visit, but I felt like their clothing selection just really isn't my taste (even though, funnily enough I found 3 items there that I already own) and the accessories collection is sparse. I can't do Goodwill, but i can definitely do CROSSROADS! I usually come here with my boho style lil sister who inspires me with her vintage finds. I have found everything here from a Gap Peacoat for 15 bucks to a purple Dolce and Gabanna Bustier top for $20. I agree there is a little bit of a funky smell, but then again what thrift store doesn't have a smell.They have a great selection, just be prepared to do some treasure hunting. I am sure as all used clothing spots are that this is hit or miss. But I had a hit visit and it was great; I left with 2 dresses a pair of Levis and a pair of Prada flats that I got for 40.00. I go here weekly on my lunch break. They have good clothes over all with the regular thrift prices. I like their shoe selection, but I'm waiting for some size 5's rather than the 7 and up sizes they carry. I just bought a urban outfitters black leather purse for $23. Shirts are about $6 and dresses $12 They are pretty strict about buying though..i was not satisfied leaving the store with a full suitcase of my own clothes--only one item sold. I have sold, traded, and shopped at this location about 3 times. Although they are strict, they are reasonable.They want fashionable clothes that are in good condition. But there are days that I wonder how they bought some of the stuff I see in their store. One thing I do really like about this place is that it is clean and organized (by color!). Other stores of this kind has a foul smell upon walking in. This store is roomy and gives you a space to shop at your own pace.The staff are nice and I almost always get a greet when I walk in. My favorite area to look through is at the front of store. Very stylish new things. Sometimes the prices are a bit high, but that's why you keep looking until you find a deal. Fantastic!! A great consignment shop where you don't have to sift through tons and tons of clothes to find that one great piece. All the clothes were totally fashionable and organized by size and color and season. Perfect. Came away with a great and unique sweater jacket for only $16. Didn't need a bag and for every bag they save, the store donates to a non-profit. Friendly help and ample dressing rooms. I will be coming back again and again to see the new inventory. read more

I was just shopping at the store located on Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley, CA. I purchased $117 worth of merchandise and am very satisfied. However, I was not happy with the service of your staff. Our cashier named Jonathan G. misinformed me that they do not take Discover Card (which I always use because I receive cash back), so I put it on my Visa Card only to find out that they do take Discover. It was hard to believe that their own cashiers don't know what credit cards the store accepts, this is very unexceptable! The other cashier Elina B. reluctantly returned my purchase and reapplied it to my Discover Card. Had I known she was going to be so rude I would have not even repurchased the merchandise after receiving my refund. I will never be shopping at this Crossroads again! read more

I have found a couple pairs of shorts that I love for less than $5 each. During winter mind you. And then at the beginning of spring I walked in just to take a look and walked out with my new favorite dress that I get compliments EVERY TIME I wear it. I bought it shortly after breaking up with my long term boyfriend and was pleased when I wore it to go out with a female friend and got hit on multiple times. I didn't pack enough pants, we were in town for the Northwestern-California football game, the season opener, the weather was warmer than expected, and I had recently lost weight so I needed some pants. My brother lives in the area and suggested this place might be fun. If I hadn't lost 20 pounds over the summer, I would not have found anything here, the clothes are mainly in thinner sizes (the Chief of Staff said something about "twig-bitches" I think, but maybe I was just remembering a movie line). There is an oddly incomplete selection of used clothing here, mostly casual, recently fashionable pants and tops, some really ugly and funny stuff, some potential for Halloween costumes, some belts, purses, sexy and cruel shoes, and very slow service. If you've ever been to a Ragstock in the Midwest, these stores could not compare, but are more like a small section of a larger Ragstock. I got my niece a really ridiculous loud obnoxious formerly chic purse, she really liked it, but she's only 7. Prices a little too high here to call it a thrift shop, but I did find a pair of pants for only $14 which should do me fine until I lose another 20 lbs. read more

This one is fairly large and has a good amount of selection. Although, all the good stuff gets taken fast so you need to jump right on it! Or be there everyday! The service here is not the best. For selling, I wouldn't here. For some reason, the buyers here have no knowledge on what is fashionable or even designer, However they buy things with holes and stains. They sell new and gently used clothing. Lots of edgier pieces and mid range fashion brands. They focus on seasonal fashion. I have a I have sold my items here before. Word of advice, don't take things personal at what they buy or won't buy. They have treated my Stuart Weitzman shoes like they were purchased from Payless. Reason for not buying it was it was an older style. Didn't want to argue that I saw the same shoe at Nordstrom Rack for over $100 still. I bet some girl would have been excited to get those! Yet they will purchase every Target dress or skirt I bring in. Whatevs, they run their business and know what they want to sell. read more

It was okay. The place is clean and very nice clothing, but not the pricing I was expecting. For a place selling thrifted items you would expect prices to be lower. Not the case at all. Whoever does the window displays at this location has strange ideas about proportion, but that aside, they pick good things to sell. The middle area of the floor (where the new items are) is easier to look through because it is more organized than the racks around the walls of the store, but the things on the racks are better deals if you have the patience to pick through them. I once saw a rack full of an Urban Outfitters dress that I had just bought for three times the price at UO in that middle area. (Doh!) If you're going to trade clothes, keep in mind that they don't donate the ones they don't take like Buffalo Exchange does, so you'll have to take your rejects home with you. Also, they won't let you buy the clothes that are currently in the window displays. Weird. read more

Anyway, they have a pretty good selection here, at least whenever I tend to stroll in. They always have cute Steve Madden flats that are around $15-20.
