I popped into Yaza for the first time ever right before they were closing at 3pm on a Sunday. I bought a top and then noticed a selection of bralettes that looked cute so I grabbed a couple, figuring I would try everything on at home and could always come back if something didn't fit. Nothing was mentioned to me about intimate's not being returnable, which I noticed on the receipt once I tried them on and realized they didn't work for me. I called the store multiple times during business hours, never got an answer. The outbound message indicates that the best way to communicate is sending a text versus leaving a message. I did that twice. Both text messages showed up as having been read by the recipient. I received absolutely nothing in response and that is the reason for this poor review. A store has every right to establish its return policy, but to simply not respond to a paying customer is unacceptable. read more

My original experience here was great. 5 star! But their exchange policy is very strict. No returns, credit only, and you have to use it within a short time frame. I had purchased a lot of clothes there trying to support local shops and not buy online. It was super fun and I liked their style of clothing. It suited me. But when I got home I decided to bring a few items back. One has to do so within I think 7 or 10 days? I got the credit and you have to use that within 3 months. I had a hard time finding new things I wanted but had to use the credit! I bought a purse I didn't really need. I wrote the shop before posting this updated review and haven't heard back in over a week. So here it is. I'd say yes, go shop there, but be careful what you decide to purchase. Make sure you REALLY WANT IT! I may not be returning to Yaza. It's too pricey to worry about their policy, too. I'll look for other local shops to support. read more

OK. This is a gem for those of us gals who prefer unique, creative and stylish garb and personal attentive service (and if, like me, you're an independent shopper- you'll be left alone too!). I adore this amazing boutique and the owner-who is so sweet and talented (and humble). She and her sister (who helps with clothes construction in Asia) both attended fashion week in NYC this past season and knocked it out of the park, of course! I have to be careful when I walk down Solano, as YAZA calls out my NY-girl name, beckoning me to take a look! It reminds me of tiny stores in the East Village that I used to frequent 'in the day'. The russian? Woman working this store is incredibly rude!! She was on her phone with her friend the entire time I was there and when I asked her a question she seemed very annoyed that I even asked and THEN PROCEEDED TO MOCK ME on her phone call to her friend. I really hate leaving a bad review for a small business but this woman was SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. I hope the owner sees this and reconsiders her staff. read more

I have purchased countless items at this store ..things aren't cheap and I've spent thousands of dollars here and it's worth it. There clothing and jewelry are high-quality and I love the owner. However, we visited today with my disabled daughter and the employee- the only one who's not the owner who works there- discriminated against my daughter harshly and my daughter was doing nothing but trying to draw a picture in her notebook of a bracelet being sold there. She wasn't touching anything or bothering anyone. The sales lady told her to get away from the jewelry and my daughter started crying and is still inconsolable. It saddens me and it's hard to believe in a town like Albany that such intolerance and discrimination exists. I will no longer shop here. read more

I was just here today Christmas shopping. This is a lovely boutique with all women-made goods - beautiful clothing and jewelry especially! Namgyal was so sweet and helped me pick out a gorgeous necklace for a Christmas gift. I will definitely be back. What's really special about the clothing is that it's made in a sustainable workshop near Kathmandu owned by the shop's owner and her parter. Very unique! read more

I don't care how cute the clothes are if dealing with the owner is a nightmare. Don't be fooled by a pleasant first meeting. If anything goes wrong, she becomes angry and uncommunicative. For months I've been trying to get resolution on a small issue, but getting any kind of response from her is like screaming into the abyss. It's exhausting. It's unprofessional.
