I've been going to this store for many years and have referred many friends there. I truly love this place. However, sometimes you stand in front of its closed doors in the middle of the day/week without any notification regarding why it is closed and when will it be open while the website says "open". It's hard to know when she's open. I've gone there numerous times when she should've been open, but she was closed. She has no transparency. There is no way to know if your items really sold or for how much. She said that they all sold, but I got hardly any money, much less what I would have gotten at the stores that I previously consigned with (they closed). Even when I made my own list of what I brought in and then tried to find out what sold and for how much she was very unclear. Did not feel right. read more

I don't recommend consigning here. The owner provides no accountability for the items she accepts. You don't get an item list or how much they sold for. I revisited the store recently after I thought my account was cleared out and found three of my items hanging on the racks. When I asked her about it I got an explanation that didn't ring true. Great selection of designer or otherwise high quality clothes for moderate prices. I was able to find a great pair of boots in a number of minutes, though it was hard to decide which ones to go for given such an extensive collection. I love shopping consignment and am happy that there is another good consignment store on Solano. It has plenty of hip clothes - even some really sexy ones - as well as some great basic pieces. Saw an awesome, black, organic cotton v-neck on the sale rack outside for $15. read more

Don't shop here I bought a sweater for my niece here and she ended up with flea bites on arms and chest. She does not have pets nor is around them because she is allergic. The sweater and other items s had to be thrown out. The store owner was rude or didn't understand or pretended to not understand she needed to sale and only accept freshly cleaned items. Be aware if you shop here there is a reason she has so much unsaleable clothes now I know. read more

I brought several suitcases and bags of clothes to consign for the first time back in March. The owner took most of my stuff, but there was no transparency in terms of making an inventory of what she took (and I did not take inventory myself because the other now-shuttered consignment shops on Solano Street always did an inventory). No idea how much she priced things, what sold, etc. She handed me a business card and said to come back 3 months later to pick up anything that didn't sell OR she would donate what didn't sell. I didn't feel comfortable leaving all of that, but I was willing to trust the process in good faith. I tried coming back a few times just to see if my stuff was out, but her shop was closed at times when it should have been open - early afternoons during the week. I realized that the day she told me to come back was a Sunday, so a week before the deadline arrived, I went in to say I needed to pick up my stuff a day earlier. When I came to pick up my stuff, she didn't give me that much back and yet she only gave me a little over a hundred dollars. She took 4 suitcases full of clothes and stacks of shoes. There was absolutely no documentation of how much sold for what. And if you say donate what didn't sell, you have no idea of what didn't sell that may have sold! When I did come in a week earlier, her computer was "down," and she couldn't see any of the inventory. I have sold way less items at Crossroads for more than what I was given for what apparently sold here. I will never consign here again, nor will I shop here. I wish I had read a review like this before I stepped foot into this place; I would never have left my stuff here. Hard lesson for me to have learned. Will now go to Crossroads exclusively from now on. read more

WoWza. And I thought kathy couldn't get any more rude. My friend and I were walking down solano (not the same friend that got banned from the shop with me) and she insisted we go in. As I knew I was banned, I was very polite and did not cause any commotion. After my friend and I were finished browsing we left promptly. After walking about a half block away, Kathy ran up to us and said , I quote "I don't know what your problem is, but I would appreciate it if you didn't come back. " should one really be a client of such a outrageous woman? I leave you to answer that question for yourself. read more

I went to all the consignment stores on Solano today and this one is my favorite. I received a friendly greeting and felt at home. They have really nice quality clothes, jewelry, bags and shoes. Great place to check out! Update: Trendy's consignment policy is awesome! I brought in a couple really nice items and learned that if Trendy sold them within 2 months I would get 50% of the sale! That's a lot compared with places like Crossroads or Clothes Mentor where they give just a couple dollars. Both my items sold in 1.5 weeks. I walked in and Cathy, the owner, gave me cash. Makes me want to sell all my clothes ;) read more

Ok. Maybe I had a bad day in my previous review. Indeed it was not open. But I gave it another chance. And have come back 3x to consign. New owner is great. She's done a great job updating the place. And definitely has a variety of more clothes, accessories and shoes than the previous owner. When I've gone I've also left with a few more "new" items. She even remembers my name which was not the case before. I'm allowed to have a change of heart, right? Will be back to consign and buy regularly. read more

I am very pleased I found this store! I feel like that I am doing something for the environment when I buy quality second-hand items for an excellent price: a pretty bag, some fancy shoes or a blouse, items that perhaps were used only once. Alicia, the owner, a calm and gentle woman with a sense of community, maintains her business organized and cozy. It is possible to find there, jewelry, hats, jeans, scarfs. Alicia accepts your used clothes and keeps track of the merchandize to give you back part of the deal. It pays to visit this boutique! read more

I an always delighted to find something very special at Trendy. Alicia, the lovely owner always knows what I am looking for,such as French Arche shoes (a fortune new),special purses and specific brands that come in to her store. I found some great ,almost brand new "NMDJ's"-(Not My Daughters Jeans). They are normally so pricey. Alicia appears to be on the quiet side, but is actually VERY warm and zeros in sharply on just what each unique customer is looking for. She is articulate,and I have never have trouble understanding her English. I totally disagree with one very rude and arrogant Yelp reviewer(10/5/2016) who said the owners skills for communication are lacking.NOT TRUE at all ! She herself lacks a sense of 'cultural competence' obviously. So,I always find a hidden treasure in this store. They also have tons of other fun stuff like cashmere hats, cozy scarves, gloves, and even scrubs (for all you Nurses). The prices are wonderful and allows you to buy more than just one item. Great place for consignment selling! The owner took and sold 75% of my stuff unlike snooty annoying rockridge rags! This lady knows her stuff! There is a bit of language barrier and some delay in getting back to you because she is a one woman shop but be patient - your stuff will sell and she knows what to select! It was actually seeing that Trendy was highly recommended by other Yelpers that convinced to go check them out. Sure enough, they're great! The shop is clean, the staff is very accommodating and the inventory splendid! I went for the first time a week or so ago and picked up a really nice pair of Italian barely-worn maryjanes along with 3 shirts, one of which was very high quality silk. The communicated skills at Trendy are really lacking. I called the day before my two month consignment was up, asking when I could pick up my things. She said she would give me a call back. Two weeks later and no call back. I called again today and luckily, it didn't sound like she had given my things away- I would have been furious if she had. It's also incredibly inconvenient they aren't open on Sundays, even just for a few hours. I work Saturdays, and don't get home on weekdays until after they're closed, so I have to have someone else pick up my remaining items. read more

I was on my lunch break and headed to the pharmacy on Solano. Just so happened to park my car in front of Trendy Boutique and decided to peek in. So glad I decided to check it out! I was very excited with the selection of Women's clothing, bags, shoes and jewelry. It's a small shop, but big on taste and variety! The shop owner Cathy is amazingly helpful and super friendly! This was a really fun stop! Cathy noticed me eyeing some boots and asked about my size. I told her I was a 6-7 and she told me that if I came in the following day she would have a bunch of new boots in my size on display. However shortly after she brought me into the back so I could look then and there! I found some awesome brown leather boots for $75 but she dropped the price to $50 because the snap on her top buckle needed to be replaced (super easy fix that ended up costing $3) other than the snap the boots were in amazing condition! Anyway, I definitely suggest paying a visit to Trendy! There is no point buying clothes or boots new when you have such a beautiful consignment shop near by!! read more

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! I feel it is my duty to report the unethical business practices of this small business owner. 1) There is no formal contract to sign when you take your clothes in to consign. 2) If you want to pick up your unsold clothes you must call first, and Cathy is usually too busy to talk to you. 3) When I finally got the message to Cathy that I wanted to pick up my unsold clothes...she got angry and made excuses about why I could NOT pick up my clothes. Note: Cathy tried to leave the store after I walked in during business hours to pick up my unsold clothes ..and said she had to go somewhere, and I would have to come another day. That was the last straw! Anything close to being professional in this operation would be purely coincidental. I thought I would give this small consignment shop a chance; However, I would consider this place a donation store...Once you drop off your clothes, it becomes their inventory to sell, and you will not see your clothes or the money..I finally did retrieve some of my things (after pulling them out of stock myself) and there were several expensive missing pieces. I just consigned for the first time with this shop in December. I noted the date by which I had to reach out if I wanted to pick up unsold items. I called a few days before the deadline, and left a voicemail that was never returned. The next week, I went in to ask in person about my items, and picked up a check for two items that it turned out had sold. The woman at the counter told me she wasn't sure if she still had my 7 (!) unsold items or if she had donated them--she said she'd need a few days to look. When I mentioned I had left a voicemail, she didn't acknowledge that. I wouldn't have minded had she followed up by that Wednesday, as she promised me. She didn't! I called again a few days after that, explained that I had already called once and visited once, and was still awaiting a reply, and she told me she'd get back to me within two days. Again, no response. My advice to others: only consign if you're willing to donate your clothes if they don't sell. The shop isn't as professional as others in the area and they seem either overwhelmed or disorganized, so you risk losing your items entirely if they don't sell. read more

I left three items with her. Nothing got sold so she had to give me my three items back but she couldn't find one of them, a banana republic wool blazer, good quality. She lost it but didn't make herself responsible for the loss. It seems that she can "loose" your clothes, sell them and not give you anything. And you may have even signed that that is ok in her policy... read more

If you are thinking about leaving your things in consignment there, think about it twice. They are pretty disorganized, they may misplace your things. I would highly recommend going to L'armoire down the street. They will take better care of your things. read more
