I finally got over to stuff vintage modern on San Pablo. Definitely an unusual find in these days. It's organized by vendor. Each vendor has their own little space to display their items. Everything in the store is vintage, collectible, hard to find, and everything is fantastic! I went in there because I am decorating my bathroom in a vintage owl theme and I found three things that I can put on the wall and they turned out to be perfect in my space. My favorite vintage store in the area! It had so many items. I was here for an hour & a half. It was filled with items I have in my home and items I want in my home. This store has a huge selection of everything you ever wanted. So many clothes, so much jewelry, a plethora of housewares & furniture, lots of vinyl, artwork, etc. The prices varied; there were definitely bargains but also high end items. The gentleman that was working there was friendly and helpful. The music was a delightful accompaniment. They have a private parking lot. read more

Came in at 6:40 on a Friday and was really excited to check this place out. No one acknowledged us, but an employee turned the lights off on us while we browsed and then went and played "closing time" on the speakers. It was 6:45. They close at 7:00. I found a beautiful smoked glass swag lamp I would have purchased if I hadn't been chased out a full 15 minutes before closing. Incredibly rude. Lost a last minute $500 purchase because kicking people out early was more important than making a sale, I guess. Bizarre and unwelcoming. Terrible customer service. read more

Stuff is well, full of stuff. If you love picking through artifacts from yesteryears, this is your jam. Especially if you love kitsch. Records, clothes, furniture, coats, vintage bar glasses, tzotchkes galore. However, to note, Bay Area pricing. While much of the stuff reads thrift store, it's selling at vintage store pricing. They do have an incredible selection of well made MCM furniture, so if you are looking for that, this is a great avenue. While I perused, nothing screamed out and a few items that piqued my interest were too pricey for my wallet. Overall, a fun store to comb through for treasure! read more

This was a pleasant surprise. If you're looking for mid-century modern furniture, this is the place to be. They have various vendors that sell their goods so you'll have a pretty good selection of mid-century antiques, furniture, jewelry art, and much more. This is a great store to peruse around; lots of things from small items like earrings to large items like dining furniture. I came in to specifically look for British bone china teapot (which I didn't find but they had a ton of British bone china tea cups and plates); would def return to peruse some more. read more

Correctly named lol. Amazingly huge collection of unique stuff everywhere you look! A feast for the eyes, it took me forever to look at everything. And I'm pretty sure I missed a few nooks and crannies. Nice customer service, they greeted you as got closer to the back. Lots of vintage pieces that you didn't know you needed. This review if for the boy in the safety orange shirt who works point of sale. I went to get a a shirt and when I ask if they could do a few dollars off he sternly and snarkingly replied "No we can't do that". I asked well arnt these items from vendors and you can ask them, there must be a certain percentage they can take off. He looked at me jaw on the ground an visibly upset and replied "well yeah but we have to ask the vendor and that could take hours or days". Keep in mind it's mid day and the store was empty, he was not busy at all just talking to the girl up front. I replied I don't appreciate being lied to when I know that vendors do work deals (duh it's a consignment store) and he had nothing to say. Overall this kid was absurdly rude, up tight, negligible people skills, and very immature to lie. I have been shopping small business for years in the East Bay but sadly will never return to this store due to the customer service at this place. read more

Well, I returned for the earrings, as well as a painting that had interested me, but the painting was too large for the space and too expensive for an impulse buy in addition. I did buy the earrings. I'm going to return next week for a nesting end table that will hold a new sculpture I bought yesterday from the Leopold Gallery in Kansas City. It will be shipped to me Monday and the end table will be waiting for it. read more

Store employee has a very negative attitude towards non-English speakers. Not sure if that's discrimination.

I was impressed with the record selection. I came across one of my favorite disco/ funk albums, the self-titled album of Slave. They had it marked up incredibly high at $60 when the going price on Discogs was under $20. I came back a few weeks later, and the price dropped to $15. I also scored a keytar/ synth that was originally $30, but the price dropped again to $15 (still in working condition!). My takeaway is that while they have some expensive items (or stuff, if you will), just wait a couple of weeks, and they'll drop the price if it doesn't sell. read more

I had a great experience selling my late father's furniture to Joe and his family at Stuff Vintage Modern. Joe was very polite and respectful and was very careful when removing the furniture. He offered the best price by far compared to other furniture companies and a comparable price to what I could get selling directly online, but without the hassle of dealing with selling one piece at a time to individuals. I found Joe to be very fair and considered not only what was good for his business, but also what is a fair price for me. read more

What a great company! Joe and Angelina purchased a bunch of vintage furniture from my elderly mother. They came with a very fair deal after we received several low-ball offers. They just stopped by to pickup the furniture today. Super friendly and courteous the entire time. They were extremely flexible on the pickup and made sure everything went smooth with the moving so my mother didn't have to stress about a thing. This place is a hidden surprise, filled with hidden surprises Much bigger than I initially imagined! Things are on the higher end for pricing but not unreasonably so, and they have a diverse curation of fascinating items. Personally, I walked out with a 53 pound amethyst bolder impulse purchase which now resides on my fireplace hearth and it's simply the coolest thing ever. Make sure to make your way to the way waaayy back and have a look-see at the old telephone booth, it's beautiful and I wish I could buy it and turn it into a Photo Booth or a bar or just something....have fun exploring, my family did Quick note about the staff, they were kind and helpful, they checked in with us in an unassuming manner and it was nice not to be immediately pounced on with 'customer service'; they respected our meandering and made themselves immediately available when we needed, staying out of our way when we didn't.
