What an amazing quaint little shop. We are walking up and down Solano Avenue while we were waiting to attend a tea party and we happened into Foxglove. They had the most beautiful clothes and accessories. I ended up buying a cute little purse. The service was impeccable. The ladies that worked there were so kind. What I got was a bit pricey, but I love the purse so much that I think it was worth it. Everything there was definitely high priced, but it was also very unique and special and awesome quality. I adore the selection at Foxglove. The items I've bought there range from $50-$82 (they were on sale) and from what I've seen, some items - especially regular price - go up to ~$100-$150. Expensive on a student budget, BUT their pieces are absolutely beautiful. Though I rarely shop for clothes, I treasure my blue wrap dress from Global Mamas and embroidered blouse from Foxglove. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love walking around on a beautiful spring day in Berkeley wearing these pieces. If you have the pocket change, treat yourself! I usually characterize the clothing look I love as "museum lady" and Foxglove fits that bill. The patterns are always interesting (animals, florals, geometrics, the list goes on), the fabric beautiful, and the cut flattering. They also have a TON (if not all?) of fair-trade and ethics-oriented brands. If I knew size and design preference, this is DEFINITELY a place I would buy a gift for a friend. There's also a lot of jewelry in the store, and some socks and knickknacks. This is a small boutique that is urban and upscale shabby chic. It is a nice offering on Shattuck near the north side. I liked browsing, but wouldn't spend money here because it is too expensive and not really my style. They had a nice little book selection and I found a Wendy MacNaughton book that I loved. I walked past Foxglove today and saw the most gorgeous patterned dress in the window. I stopped immediately and went inside to try it on, but got sidetracked by all of the other wonderful clothing and accessories they have! They had some jewelry by Molly M. designs, bags with Pendleton-type patterns, plenty of retro A.J. Morgan sunglasses, and a slim selection of shoes. They had a fair selection of clothing, most of which were dresses but also included some sheer blouses and dress jackets, that are tailored for a hip demographic. I also spotted some art high above above the jewelry counter. Hope they rotate new art in because what I saw wasn't particularly memorable. I walked out with 2 new dresses and am very content. Walking down Shattuck a few days ago a beautiful dress caught my attention, unfortunately it was night so foxglove was already closed for the day. Made a mental note: return to this fabulous place. Today I finally made it back with the intention if trying that lovely dress on and left the site with a dress, some pants, and an awesome ring. Foxglove is a small boutique stocked with mostly indie SF labels and sustainable brands. The clothing is lovely ranging from dresses and skirts to pants and jeans that will please many different tastes. They also have beautiful jewelry designed locally, bags (purses, messenger bags, backpacks), affordable sunglasses (~$16), and a small shoe section. It also has a small section of men's clothes. The prices are fair though might come across a bit high for students. It's well worth checking out though, you'll find that these unique pieces will quickly become staples in your wardrobe. The service is great. The sales girl was super friendly, very helpful and honest about fit. read more

I love this store, I hope it never goes away. I have a weird body to fit, so the stuff in here isn't all a home run, but they have such a great variety of sizes and cuts that are flattering and I always end up finding something to love, whether it be a dress, a necklace or a scarf. They also have fun shoes, guys clothes and purses! A great place to find a fun gift or just get some essentials, this tiny little gem has it all. Prices range from super affordable to about $150. I don't think I've ever seen anything more than that price in the store. You have to consider though that those pricey items are one of a kind items and tend to be something you'll wear again and again, so it ends up paying for itself. read more

This is for the 24th Street store (I've never been to the Berkeley one). I love this place! It's a little pricey, but like someone else said, you have to keep in mind that you're not going to find all these wonderful items other places. I found a beautiful top. I didn't buy it because I could afford it at the time, but next paycheck I'm probably going to be back here. I can't get it out of my head. I am giving this place a 3 bc the things they have to sell. Clothes, bags and other Knick knacks are super cute. The sales clerk Jennifer is not so nice. Asked if the sizes came with a number range. She promptly said the maker does not do that. And then when I asked would this fit me, she promptly responded "I don't know!" Then I said well is there a range they suggest the size large for say 10-14? She said again in her condescending and a bit over the top I don't know! Then I simply stated you don't know? To which she snapped at me and said Are you mad at something? I said me? I informed her no I am not mad it's just most people have a range they think there sizes would fit. Then she ran behind the desk and made herself busy. No help beyond that, and definitely no goodbye. I understand people have bad days but please be nice to those who come into the store while it's empty, and have some manners. That is all. I will give it another try I'm sure because I believe in second chance. So will update then :) read more

For years I've meant to go in this shop and I'm so glad that I finally did. While some of the clothes and jewelry are very expensive, everything is of the highest quality and very beautiful. I found numerous pieces for under $100 that were well made and excellent additions to any well-curated wardrobe. I bought a necklace that I can't stop wearing and numerous holiday gifts for my family. I was greeted with excellent customer service as well, which is hard for someone working the shop to accomplish on their own with so much holiday foot traffic. I will definitely be back. read more

If it is open on my commute home, I am lured in by the window display every time...and let's be honest, I am not capable of leaving Foxglove empty handed! The inventory stays fresh and there is a great variety in style and price range- all quality goods. The sales staff is not pushy and it's easy to stroll through and see what's new (color categorized) and find some good deals. They are knowledgeable and helpful about composition and fit.
