We didn't get to visit the shop but we did attend the 3rd annual Bay Area Black Fashion Expo, sponsored by Spoiled. Juneteenth was celebrated also & done so in style! It was really a nice event. Fashion show, live music, food vendors and entrepreneurs selling their wares. The food & drinks were pretty good. There were a couple delays here & there but overall a great production. We plan to visit the boutique soon & hope to take part in next year's celebration. read more

This boutique is DANGEROUS! There is always something in here I want to buy, don't, and when I return...it's GONE! EVERYTIME. Without fail. I stumbled across a small pop up in the Livermore Outlets, and as usual walked away from some cute prospects. I'll stay awake at night thinking about how cute I could have looked in those dresses. But what I love about this store is that the pieces feel like good quality, and they carry a range of sizes (that easily fits these ever expanding curves and hips). And the possible owner of the store is GREAT with faces. She genuinely remembers guests who return. So if you want to be the belle of the ball without breaking the bank: go here and find an outfit that will stun. Trust me, the owner always looks like she's leaving a fashion shoot! The boutique is so cool I loved the pieces but the sales associates are rude I asked if one of the bags had the correct price which said $99.00 the sales associate said it was actually $200. Another associate said actually it is $100! They gave weird vibes overall but I still bought my bag because it was fabulous. read more

This place does not return unworn clothes, they let you exchange 7days or you get store credit.... Smh what if you change your mind, and may want something else from somewhere else, then you are stuck with this mess... It was my first time shopping there. I have never heard of this store before until I was attracted by the decorative theme at the store at San Francisco Premium Outlet. I spotted a cream colored chiffon dress/blouse. Tried it on and loved the feel of the material. Although it runs big (tried on the S/M, the smallest size available), I decided to get it. The selection they have on clothing is quite unique, unlike items you find everywhere else at big department stores or chain boutiques like Zara or Forever 21 etc. They only have a few pieces on each style. Pro: I love this store. I was able to get a beautiful outfit for my anniversary date from their Oakland location. I highly recommend for a nice shopping experience with great helpful staff. Con: there is no plus size available at the main store in Emeryville. You have to go to Oakland to their plus size store. It's great they have the option but kind of sucks because I want to do a shopping spree with my friends of different sizes and they are in the medium range and I am a XL to a 2XL. So we'd have to go to the Emeryville store for them and drive to their other store in Oakland for me. Overall it's a great store with fun pieces but I do wish that they would add different sizing to both stores to make a better group shopping experience read more

This past Saturday, I encountered one of the most embarrassing and awkward shopping experiences at your Livermore store. When my fiancé inquired about an employee's opinion on an item, the employee gave her a dismissive look and stated that it wasn't her style, so she wouldn't be able to provide advice on what to wear with it. She then went on to tell my fiancé to take off the dress she was trying on, as if she had a problem with it and didn't want her wearing it anymore. So disappointed. I came here on the 19th. I spent over $500 because their selection was pretty vast and I was looking for some unique items I was told by one of the associates that the pieces that they carry or one of a kind and they do not restock on anything that they have so I purchased all of the items that I though would work for me knowing I wouldn't be able to find them again. Of all the pieces only one of the items, just did not work for me. I came to exchange the piece. I was unfamiliar with their return policy since again it was my first time shopping in the store. I came to do the exchange on the 27th so just a couple days past there a seven day exchange policy, and was told that I could not do the exchange because the system will not allow it. Quite frankly, hearing the associate telling me that a human cannot override a machine after I spent so much time and money in the store was really upsetting. I understand that that is their exchange policy but since everything I had hoped that they could accommodate this one time since the items were completely unworn, I thought that seemed like a reasonable request. The only help was her highlighting my receipt informing me again of the exchange policy. I would not recommend anyone shop here. I always support local businesses and avoid going to places like Nordstroms but this is exactly why people shop there instead, because of situations like this. I am also a small business owner, and so I understand ins and outs of the business, and I would never treat my valuable clients like this. read more

By the power of pinkskull I am Shop-Ra! I have the AMEX!!!!! $275 in 30 mins. That must be some kind of record for me. This unsuspecting little shop had plenty of gems and a fair amount of selection. They generally only carry 4-6 of each item and add new items about twice a week. The designs are hip and funky. Inititally the salesgirl was on the phone carrying on loudly about something I'm sure I wasn't supposed to hear, but after she was done, she was helpful and attentive and we wound up having some good conversations. Almost everything I tried on fit me very well (a compliment to my curves in a day and age where it's difficult to find clothes that are cute and age appropriate for adult women) and I walked out of there more than satisfied. This place was definitely a welcome surprise after a rough meeting and a short walk from work. Retail therapy at it's finest. read more

The place has a good vibe, but the return policy is too short and the owner was inflexible. I spent my money there because I wanted to support a small local business, and I would expect a small business to treat customers fairly. I bought my wife a birthday present, but unfortunately it didn't quite fit. She took it back to exchange for something else, but it was just a couple days over the 10-day return policy, and the owner refused to exchange it for something else. What really gets me is that when I bought the blouse, I asked about the return policy, and the owner told me it could be returned for store credit only, but not for cash. She DID NOT mention the 10 days. Who ever heard of only 10 days to return an item? I didn't give the present until several days after purchase, then it was only a week later that she made it to the store. The owner insisted that the 10 day policy is listed in the fine print of the receipt, so we had notice. And she also says that her computer system will not allow her to make the return after 10 days. Is that the kind of answer you expect from a small local business? If the owner changes her mind, I will gladly edit my review. read more

Where I'm coming from on the clothes tip: I'm a tall girl (5'7) and I'm not a small girl, I'm right on the borderline of larger sizes so Im in the weird space where I cant buy just anything at say - H&M (i can do some stuff), but I dont have to only exclusively head to Lane Bryant. Not that I shop at either. Im a straight up boutique girl except when it comes to tshirts or sweatshirts or the basic clothes which truth be told - I get a Target. (dont sleep!) Spoiled has the BEST shit! EVERY time I go in there I have to make sure I've got $. They have small to plus sizes, they have rockin dresses, jackets, hot jeans, skirts, accessories. i'm getting flustered just writin about it. The best part is that they are ORIGINAL pieces that not everyone is going to have and they are reasonably priced! I love funky, fresh styled looks. Unique is a good word for the stuff they have. I can usually find stuff that rocks for like 40 to 80 bucks. and they have things from like 20$ to $200. I like Spoiled. They have great customer service and from time to time, sell really unique items. When I'm bored I stroll in and hope they have something in my size. I'm tall with thighs and booty so that makes things a little difficult. Truthfully, I think my appreciation for this store is attributed to the fact that there aren't many other options in Oakland. Many of the 'boutiques' are really just over-priced swap meets to me. (Yes, I'm from Southern California.) The material is often very thin, trendy and designed for the 5-7-9 crowd. If you go, expect to spend about $50 on ONE thing. I'm a compulsive bargain shopper so for me that's a lot of money on an item that is made out of thin China cotton. I don't mind spending a lot of money on something that's made well and makes me look like the adult I am. I would say 75% Spoiled does that. read more

What a surprising little gem! I am reserving 1 star because I am stingy but this place has the workings of being a normal stop for me. The customer service is amazing. Mika is kind but honest. I love trying something on that doesn't work for me and "testing" the sales girl to see whether they are honest or just trying to sell. -Although I was hoping both items I tried on were going to work 1 was an amazing color but so ill-fitting. Now that is the ULTIMATE customer service to me. The clothing are not over priced and she often has sales. This boutique is not like the rest believe me, the quality is not cheap or tasteless. They help you pick stuff out if you really don't know what you want, will help zip you up in the fitting room, and tell you how you look with helpful suggestions like their your best gal pal. Absolutely love Spoiled Boutique! I am from Oakland and it is nice 2 have at least 1 boutique that doesnt offer an array of cheap clothing that is over-priced. I shop here often when I am home in Oakland, and sometimes make purchases over the phone when I am out of state. So given my intro U may B wondering why I have given THUS PARTICULAR VISIT only 3 stars. Well here it goes... I was out of state and doing some online shopping from work- as I normally do. I received an email from Spoiled boutique and noticed that it was an email for NEW ITEMS! Scrolling through the email I see a dress that I have been in search of for MONTHS. Imagine my excitement when I found it right here in Oakland!! I immedialtely called the store to place my order, as I KNEW this dress would sell out. Once the woman answered the phone, I said my salutations & immedialtely mentioned placing a phone order. I described the dress 2 the T, including dress color & size, recited the same exact name that was on the email I was sent. I WAS SO EXCITED, when she informed me that she had the exact dress in the color & size that I needed. I went on 2 place the order even throwing in 2 more shirts. As I was going through all of the above I had a small, VERY persistent feeling/voice in the back of my mind....a little voice kept saying, "Relax, its not that serious for this dress....not to mention you know damn well you won't be getting the dress anyway." I know that sounds crazy, but I could hear the voice just as plain as you are "hearing" yourself read this review right now. I ignored the voice and kept on with my order. So items have been ordered, and transaction completed. Fast forward a few weeks. I return home to Oakland and my first stop, no doubt is to the boutique to grab my dress! I bounce my happy ass downtown, park in the yellow loading zone, and run in to grab my items. Remember, I'm super stoked! I reach the counter, am greeted by the woman working and tell her I am there to pick up an order. She says okay, and then asks me what did I order. Ummm, IDK. It was almost a month ago, and I never received a receipt or nothing that proved my purchase other than a charge from my account to this boutique. She askes me again & honestly all I can remember is the dress. As she is digging through a large container of packaged items, she is trying to figure out what I ordered. I tried giving her my name, she said that would'nt help, okay. Now keep in mind I have made phone orders with the boutique before, and never had a bad experience so I'm not really worried...but of course here's that voice again..."No need to panic, you're not getting the damn dress anyway."...suddenly, "Here it is." She walks to the counter and places the plastic package down. Immediately, I open it (of course in search of the dress...black t-shirt, check! Pale pink lace shirt, check! White Picasso dress...white Picasso dress... (DAMMIT!)...white Picasso dress....Nothing. I mention to her that I have an item missing. She seems shocked & takes a look at the receipt. The receipt DOES show 3 items. I only have 2. She grabs the phone to make a call. "There is a woman here that is missing a dress from her order.....blah,blah,blah". Eventually she hangs up & tells me that though my receipt clearly says " WHITE Picasso dress", that she made a mistake & ordered a dress that was different than the dress I ordered. "Excuse me?"....now I'm confused. So even though you have this white dress posted on your IG page, & you have the same white dress on your NEW ARRIVALS email that you sent out. You ordered the black dress from the distributor, and NOT the white?????? LMAO!! Holy shit! I was Disgusted. Devastated. Disappointed. Crushed. Led astray. Run amuck. I had outfits already planned in my head.......First, I was angry, then I wanted to cry. Then of course the upsales began...oh, what about this? Or this? Or that? Uuuuuggghhhhhh!!! I can't! I promise you it took JMJ (Jesus, Mary & Joseph) to keep my mouth closed and my hands at my side, I wanted to wild out! Swipe everything of the counter & onto the floor, run around & snatch every piece of clothing off the hangers & throw that shit outside! Take my phone & throw it through every mirror & window in the store! All that sounded like it would make me FEEL great, but I am so NOT about that life..& it's just a damn dress!! I'm an educated professional now. I took a few deep breaths just as she was saying, "Oh, have u tried So&So Boutique, they may have it..let me call". She had to say it 3x before I really heard her. She called the other boutique, and they did have another similar dress in white & the 1 I wanted in Black. She refunded my money for the dress and gave me directons 2 the other boutique. I thanked her - fighting back the tears & walked out with my other 2 shirts. All that being said, all is well that ends well. I didnt go 2 jail, & got 2 dresses from the other boutique for the price of 1. And will be back to Spoiled again! read more

I thought I'd found a good thing when I found this store. The staff was friendly and quite helpful. I saw 2 cute dresses that I really liked. They told me they'd only ordered 4 in each color, so I bought one of each. Thinking I'd found 2 great dresses that I wouldn't see half the city wearing. While on vacation, I went to Forever 21 to check out some accessories. To my dismay there was MY dress and about 20 others in Forever 21 that I bought from this boutique. The print, material, cut, length, etc. was a perfect match. There was ABSOLUTELY nothing different between the two dresses. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend, let alone anyone else, that is unless you want to find your item at a nationwide retailer a month later. A boutique is NOT what I would call this place. I was pleasantly surprised to discover moderately priced lines (Ark & Co, Esley and Bettie Page, in particular), many of which were on sale at the time of my visit. Any woman who believes in spoiling herself should go to this boutique. As small and quaint as it is, I have always found something to add to my wardrobe or accessories! The owner Mika is very pleasant and welcoming, being sure each guest is happy. I love her honest approach when it comes to recommending an item. There's always a discount rack so if your on a budget check there, but generally most things are reasonable and sure to be unique and set apart from the rest "priceless". I know when I do find a piece or two it's one of a kind and I have not run into my "twin". I believe in spoiling myself and you should too! read more
