Great food, service and the beers is easy to drink ;) both times I've come, we've received a welcome greeting. My glass is never empty and I leave with a satisfied belly! Yum. Do it. Come have a beer and dinner :) read more

Excited they have finally opened the doors. My wife and I went to check things out this past Friday. We love the look of the place, light, open provides a very welcoming feel. The staff is friendly and just attentive enough. We both ordered the bacon cheese burger plus a couple of their brews. We had only one complaint and that was the burger was very salty. I do think this is simply part and parcel with the fact that they are new and just getting things worked out. The beer was delicious, great burger bun, delicious fries, could have used bigger pickle slices though. The pickles were delicious. So we will go back and I'm sure the salt issue will be corrected. read more

My son and I ate there again last night, and it's even better than the last few times before. They were quite busy, however our food was delivered quickly and our server was very attentive. Try the steak salad. It's really good. read more

My new favorite place to eat! Love the lentil burger and pretty much everything there.

Came in for dinner at 5 on a Friday, the service was good. The food and beer were also amazing. The star was taken off because the owner was streaming a Husky game for some fans, which was nice, but he kept the volume on, so it was very loud, but you couldn't even hear the commentators. We had to move tables because we sat right by the speaker, I watched a few other parties do the same. I asked our server if he could turn it down, he didnt say no, but offered to let us move tables. So we took a table that was way too big for two, but was the only one left. read more

Great go-to spot in Walla Walla! Awesome beer, excellent food, and super service. Best steaks in town.

Stopped in for drinks and snacks and had the most wonderful service! Alleah was so friendly, helpful and sincere! SHE is the reason we will return here next time we're in town! Great food and great service! read more

Disappointing first visit. My wife discovered a hair hanging out of her burger, the waitress presented an attitude when we questioned whether a soda refill was diet (our daughter is diabetic), all topped off by a 20% service charge which the staff can be overheard explaining/defending to virtually every table. It just feels too corporate and impersonal for our little town. I appreciate the presence of this new steakhouse, so I hope it will improve. read more

This was one of the more disappointing experiences I've had in Walla Walla. I'm a local and like to try eating everywhere. There aren't a million restaurants here, so anytime I can find a new place I'd like to frequent I'm happy. I'd been to the steakhouse once previously, and I thought it was good, though way overpriced. I wanted to try the brewpub to see if it was more reasonable. It was myself, my partner, and our two kids. One kid ordered steak frites and the other mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was soupy and bland. The fries were good and the steak was decent, though nothing to write home about. My partner had a caesar salad (way overdressed) and I had a wedge, which I quite liked. And we split a burger, which was a good burger. We also had two old fashioneds each and they were with mid-level bourbon. All in all, it was fine. Not spectacular, but good. And then the bill came. $170, which included the 20% mandatory tip. I have to say, the service was excellent and I'm a good tipper when I get good service, so I would have tipped 20% or more anyway. But to take two kids and two grownups to a pub and have it cost $170??? And, as noted above, it's not like we ordered extravagantly. The Old Fashioneds were $40, and then another $20 was added on for a premium liquor up-charge. To make old fashioneds, the quickest, easiest cocktail in the world to make. I was really hoping to add to another local restaurant to our repertoire to which we could take the kids and have some drinks and a nice meal and everyone could go home happy. Our go-to is Chiquilles, at which the food is consistently good and there are always left overs and we can get Don Julio in our drinks and still walk out with the four of us having eaten more than our fill and the grown ups having had a couple of drinks each for well under $100, and that includes a tip of 20% or more. If we want to go out with the kids, that's where we'll go next time. And if we want a grown up pub/bar experience, we'll leave them at home and go to the Green, the Public House, the Stone Hut, or the Marc, all of which have better food, better atmospheres (depending on your preference of course--imo Crossbuck has an over-bright cafeteria feel to it) and WAY more reasonable prices. read more

Service was terrible, we were seated by the hostess, 25 minutes and 4-5 servers staring at us pass by. We think maybe it's a miscommunication between servers?? Maybe they didn't assign our table to someone yet?? Another 10 minutes go by and a manger finally stops at our table. Food was great after waiting 45 minutes to order. 20% required tip added to my bill?! I always tip accordingly anyways, but our server didn't deserve 20%. read more

The food and drinks are really good. However the waitress we had was snotty and rude. She didn't even try to be friendly.

Burger was good, but bread pudding was hard and gluey. Don't go in with a crowd. Everyone was served ahead of us. I couldn't understand what we were supposed to do when the waitress said she earned $1 an hour. I guess it had something to do with the 20% service charge. Did that mean we were to add another 20% for a tip? Very confusing. read more

They insure a 20% tip no matter what you get or what the size of your party is. I went with my girlfriend (2 people) and they still charge me a 20% gratuity fee. That is crap in my opinion. They did not have good service nor deserve me to tip them 20%. I would have given this waitress a 2$ tip for the service she provided. I will not return until after they take that charge off.. okay beer with okay service. read more

We both ordered burgers plus I had a cider. Service was so so and seemed to come with an attitude. Burgers were decent, bun stood up well although top was greasy, bacon was excellent and fries were decent. Burger was a bit dry for my taste and could have used a few condiments or a pickle. But wait, there were pickle chips. However, they tasted like nothing I've eaten before. Could be someone's grandmother's recipe, but pickled with something really disgusting! So, except for the pickles, the food was okay. What really pulled my chain and made us decide to leave Walla Walla a day early, was when the waiter presented the bill he asked if we'd been there before? Then stated that they add a 20% "service charge" to the total bill. So on the way out one of the owners? asked how everything was. So we said okay except for the pickles and the"service charge." He seemed surprised, but that was probably the most memorable part of our experience, the service charge! Here's what the service charge gets you if you're a customer: 1) a big surprise, 2) no choice in your tip, 3) you get to pay sales tax on the tip. Here's what it gets you if you're an owner: 1) maybe you can pay the wait staff a $15/ hour base wage, 2) too large a wait staff, 3) a wait staff that is not motivated to genuinely care about the customer, 4) a wait staff that spends a good percentage of their time fawning and sucking up to the owner. Anyway, the food is a bit pricey but decent, but what really turned us off and left the biggest impression was the service charge. And that's why they get two stars. We don't visit Walla Walla often, but when we do we won't be going back to Crossbuck! read more

The fish and fries were excellent. Selection of beer was many. A great place for a quick lunch or casual dinner. Service was exceptional. Only problem was the additional charge for service 20%. Be sure and pay without leaving a tip. read more

Horrible service, won't return, didn't stay long enough to even drink a beer. The wait staff made us feel like a bother and an interruption to their day. read more

Way over priced. The beet salad had maybe half a small beer total and the rest greens. The fish and chips were under cooked and the batter was gooey. The fries were dark brown. We won't go back. The worst part was the forced 20% gratuity. That's just not right!! We did have a good waiter. read more

Really delicious food, reasonably priced. My steak was a perfect medium and everything was seasoned very well. I appreciate that the kids' menu was given the same level of attention as our adult entrees. My 5-year-old inhaled his salmon and he ate it all. Staff was friendly, attentive and made us feel at home. Great addition to the Walla Walla food scene. We'll be back!! read more

As others have posted, we (2 people) were charged a 20% gratuity without our prior knowledge. Then they charged us tax on the imposed gratuity. I'm not real confident that the "service charge" actually made it to our waiter because the ticket says: "Additional gratuities are accepted but not expected, and go entirely to the server." We will not be repeat customers. read more

Out on the town for anniversary. Stopped in to catch the game. Clean? Check. Mom and dad get a grown up beverage with kids along, like normal? Check. First class beers? Check. Fair growler prices? Check. Bartender can make cocktail? You betcha. Now the food. With steakhouse in the back I expected good steak and they delivered. Don't know how they got so much smoke on my burger but I approve. (Feel safe to order it rare.) Wife's steak salad had REAL steak on it, along with pickled pimentos (red bell peppers). Got free dessert for anniversary. Yay! Biased opinion: New York cheesecake was delicious. Will come back and try the steak room. This place and steakhouse should be great venue for office affairs, intimate gatherings, etc. will recommend. read more

We went there in early November. Took over 40 minutes to get a beer. Our waitress seemed confused and inattentive. Food was OK, but nothing special. 20% automatic tip was ridiculous. I usually leave 25-30%, but will also leave less when service and food is this bad. I'll never come back. read more

This restaurant menu and staff were completely underwhelming, so be advised, they charge a 20% automatic "service charge" in lieu of an optional tip, and it shows. If my server was happy to be there or excited to do her job, it certainly did not show. She was working only for that auto charge and nothing else. My partner and I ordered the toasted brussels, steak bites and a ceasar salad. I should have asked for them to hold the grease and fat. The brussels were more burnt than toasted and the dipping garlic aioli was more "just" mayo. The steak bites looked like large calamari and was equally as chewy. The sauces provided were cocktail sauce (imagine that) and orange colored mayo that was supposed to be something "chipotle". Overall if I wanted bar food only, I would have gone somewhere else. I wanted some decent foodie food. That being said, after I hand stirred my seemingly layered bloody mary, it was the only thing that wasn't half bad. read more

The hubby and I stopped in for cocktails and appetizers on Saturday, and it was a wonderful experience. Maddie was lovely and helpful, directing me to their smoked Manhattan, made with Bulleit bourbon and real wood chip smoke corked together in a little jug. Very dramatic molecular gastronomic presentation! Harold loved his Hefeweizen from Oregon as well. Snacks were their Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Artichoke, Jalapeno and Spinach dip. People who think they hate Brussels Sprouts will change their minds when they taste these crispy, delicious French fry like delicacies dipped in aioli. The dip was creamy, spicy, and delicious, with plenty of toasted bread to pile it on high. Although Crossbuck doesn't offer happy hour items per se, our bill, including service charge, was about what we would spend expect to pay at any nice restaurant's happy hour for a few drinks and snacks; however, the huge portions and top quality cocktails set it apart! We had planned on splitting a burger, too, but ran out of room. We're taking a group out to dinner next week, and this is where we'll be going! Kid friendly, too, with a great children's menu with homemade treats for the kiddos. read more
