    Super cool metal sign!

Did not see any legendary monsters conceived as a huge, bat-winged, fire-breathing, scaly lizard or snake with a barbed tail. However...the beer was great and the company was even better! My damsel's hair shined like a golden wheat field!

Wow...what a find. Belgian beer is easy to do poorly. The yeast can be overwhelming, the sugar cloying and the alcohol level masking. The beer at this place does none of that. The husband and wife team here are delightful and on target. Opportunities to go extreme are avoided for great balance and nuance. Might not be the best Belgian I've had; but it's REALLY good...and coming from the small system they are using, it is phenomenally impressive. Definitely should be a beer lover's destination....I loved it.

Takes some navigating to get there, but worth finding. I don't drink beer but my friends and family that have tasted their beer are instant fans. My husband and I have been here three times and we'll definitely be going again. Small (nano) brewery with a cool little setup. Wonderfully nice people.

I've been following Dragon's Gate Brewery on Facebook for quite a while. Absolutely love the theme and the gorgeous horses! My hubby surprised me with a road trip to the brewery and I was completely beside myself when I saw the sign at the beginning of there driveway. The drive was beautiful and the best part was once we pulled into the parking area, I saw one of the horses! He was tall, gorgeous and watching us! The grounds of the brewery are beautiful even though it was raining and blowing super hard. The brewery itself is small, but cleverly decorated. We got a flight of their Belgian-styled ales and fell for the Saison and the Biere de Garde in which we brought both home with us! Jen was so nice and so good to talk horse with! Definitely a deliberate stop!!!

Out in the middle of absolutely nowhere! This is a great little brewery specializing in Belgian influenced beers but with a definite American twist. The tasting room is tiny and the purchasing options are very limited. They will only fill 32 ounce growlers--which they sell--and they only had one bottled beer for sale. On the plus side they have guest taps and they give free tastings of all of the beer that they brew. This is a nice little spot so you should definitely check them out and support them!

If you're looking for beer near Walla Walla, take the short drive over to Dragon's Gate. As they say, it's a small operation adjacent to a farmhouse on roughly the middle of nowhere. But Adam and Jennifer are gracious hosts doing some really interesting stuff in what is otherwise a relative beer desert in SE Washington wine country. If you're anywhere near, Dragon's Gate deserves a visit. Can be a little hard to find, but Apple Maps found it so there's that.

Love the beer, love the place, love it all! Check it out, worth the drive! They have cider for gluten free folks as well.

Quirk has a really good selection of bevvies to whet your whistle. They have IPAs, Stout, ciders, etc... but they also have some Wine too! They don't make wine, but if you are more of a wine person, they offer wine too. So... they aren't just a beer place. They are so much more! Quirk lets you do a sampler tasting so my mom and I tried 3 beers and 2 ciders. The surprising one for me ... the Kolsch! I've had this style by other folks... and I hate it. Quirk's Kolsch however... I found quite enjoyable. It wasn't the funky, harsh, weird after-tasting kind like I had experienced at other places. Theirs is smooth, light and quite delightful. I now stand corrected that I don't hate all Kolsch. Thank you, Quirk for educating me. The 2 ciders we tried were quite tasty too! I really liked the drier one, Fuji Cider. It was not very sweet, it had an apple essence and you could tell you were drinking a cider with alcohol. The Honey Pear Cider was sweeter... more like a fizzy soda so it was dangerous to drink because I could easily pound a few of those and not realize the alcohol content. BONUS: They have a Mexican food truck on-site (Agapa's) serving up homemade eats that are handcrafted with care. Their tortillas are not the regular thin, flimsy store-bought kind. They are Homemade! So good! My mom and I weren't super-duper hungry so we shared the Huarache (I'm sure I didn't spell that correctly.) It's like a Tostada. Quite tasty and filling. All in All... a great spot at the Airport District so I highly recommend you stop in either on your way in or out from the airport.
