We stopped by recently and it's still cool to see such a big location. It has multiple levels and filled to the brim with gear for hiking, running, cycling, and camping. Outside of the store, there's a little trail they've set up for you to test out bikes; not sure if they let you do that with hiking boots, too. Since it's Seattle, you can find more than a few items that feature BigFoot on them. Service is always terrific and I like the fact that they have such a generous return policy in place if you're not satisfied with your purchase (for members on eligible items. it's within 1 year of purchase, even if gently used).

I usually shop for Patagonia online or at the REI Co-Op so I was looking forward to stopping by just to window shop. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and asked if there's anything we were looking for in particular. We were just interested in browsing, and I found customer service to be quite helpful once we were ready to try a couple jackets on. The fitting rooms are in the back of the store and well kept. Patagonia was running a few sales on past season wear and discounts ranged from 20-50% off. I scored a kid's Synchilla jacket, which I purchased for $43.99, and Patagonia offers repairs which is a great value add. Overall, great store if you love the brand and worth checking out!

And having programs that raise awareness of environmental and social issues. My favorite program is Worn Wear. You can either sell Patagonia your used clothes or trade them in so they can fix it. I believe that reusing is better than recycling. Furthermore, they give you credit ranging from $15 to $150.

Oh, and they also make and sell kickass down sleeping bags and cold weather gear! I do a lot of work in areas of extreme cold and this is my secret weapon. I'm the 50th review for Feathered Friends and while it sits in the shadow of a much larger outdoors company (ahem!), this has got to be one of Seattle's secret, overlooked gems.

Not having a clue what where we were actually going to go snowshoeing, we asked for recommendations from the team here. Cabin Creek in the Snoqualmie Region was recommended to us, and let me tell ya- we had SUCH A GOOD TIME! The snowshoe rentals and poles worked out so well and Cabin Creek was a perfect place to snowshoe! It totally surpassed my expectations and really made my first snowshoe experience as good as it could be. I didn't get time to shop for anything else here, but it seemed like there was a lot of gear for outdoor activities like kayaking, skiing, etc...and I'd imagine, if you are new to any of these activities, the team here can point you in the right direction. First class service all the way!

F for customer service…read more I feel bad leaving a poor review especially given that I quite like the owner and have had good experiences with the shop in the past. And have been a loyal customer for many years and have bought a ton of stuff from them. But today I had a terrible experience and I just feel like I need to share it. I went in to rent a pair of skis for my daughter as we wanted to go skiing the next day. It was 4:45 on Sat. Walking in and saying I wanted to rent skis. The young guy behind the counter asked me if I had an appointment. I said no, I no idea I needed an appointment for a one-day rental. Then he said I'm sorry I won't be able to help you we close in 14 minutes. Well, first closing at 5pm when you're a rental shop during the ski season seems a little early but OK. I said are you sure I just need skis and that shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes (I used to work in a rental shop and setting up rental skis is really very quick). But he said no, it would not be possible. There were no other customers in the shop so it was unclear what else would be taking his time, but clearly not helping me. He very unhelpfully suggested that I could come back in the morning and that they open at 11. Which is pretty useless if you want to ski that same day. The fact that he suggested that as a solution is just more evidence that he had zero interest in listening to what I need or in any way finding a way to help me. I hope this is an anomaly and not what I can expect from the shop going forward. I really enjoy having a local ski shop in West Seattle and I hope that my future experiences will be like all my previous ones.

I am friends with the Freeman owners and it made me happy to see the collaboration. I will have to say that the Filson brand is unfailing. It's unfortunate that Eddie Bauer and other outdoor brands just don't match. I wish post pandemic that many of the products weren't outsourced. I get it.
