I purchase all my sneakers from Brooks Trailhead. Only place I can grab a wide shoe for my feet. Not every shoes is available in wider sizes which is a bummer cause I'd really love some of the cool colors or the speciality design they bring out. I mean who doesn't want a Christmas shoe that fits for the holidays. But the staff really works hard to fit you with the appropriate shoe when I come into the store. Now the staff will also check upcoming releases for you and place an order. I've done a number of occasions and maybe you'll wait 2 weeks at best. When shoes arrive you get a nice courteous call and text indication shoes are ready for pick up. Now that's customer service in my opinion. I'd say for a shoe company that delivers shoes that fit and excellent customer service you're giving me total value for what I pay for the shoes. Will see you soon for another pair. read more

I get most of my running shoes here! They have a good trial policy and lots of local events. I sometimes run with their run club, which can be fast. The run club definitely helped me improve my running the year I focused more on running. They have all the newer Brooks shoe models and knowledge about the shoes since this is their flagship store located at their corporate HQs. Worth a visit if you want to get in to running. read more

I visited the Brooks Trailhead store when I was in Seattle this past November and honestly thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread (and boy oh boy do I love bread). Located within running distance of Downtown Seattle, I literally ran to the store and was mesmerized by the outside of the building - it's perfect! The statue is literally made of running/race medals and when you enter the store, there is a large book with submissions from the people who donated their medals to the statue! The selection of shoes and apparel is unmatched - seriously, it's like everything that's on the website is in the physical store. Yes, there was even a special mug representing Brooks Seattle that I had to purchase. I ended up getting a pair of the Brooks holiday shoes (they were already sold out online) as well as a pair of the Run Visible gloves, a Distance Short Sleeve t-shirt, a pair of socks, and the very best pants that I have fallen in love with and also purchased them in every color - the Shakeout Pant. The employees were really helpful and not at all judgmental when I was having some issues figuring out the sizing on the pants. They did not lead me astray and for that I greatly appreciate them. I could have spent quite a bit of time in the store and wish that I had. I also wish I was in town on a Tuesday or Thursday to join their run club, all of the pictures I see on social media look so fun! I tried on some of the items I purchased and loved the fitting rooms, they were so cool - like you were on a track! Other areas that I loved was the features/bios of the Trailhead Employees as well as the reading nook. Overall, if you're looking for a pair of shoes, need some new running (or walking or hiking) apparel, or are just a fan of Brooks, be sure to visit the Trailhead! Great value all around. As I get older, I have developed feet issues that can be painful to walk in most shoes. It was recommended for me to try a pair of Brooks running shoes. I purchased a pair of the GSX shoes and oh my goodness, did not realize shoes existed that were this comfortable. Just completed a business trip that consisted of walking many miles. I wore the Brooks shoes the whole time and my feet feel great with absolutely no pain. What a relief. read more

I loved that there were treadmills to test run the different styles, but the stock of shoes was a bit limited surprisingly. Could've been the time we came in though! This is a pretty cool place to visit, its the Brooks shoe headquarters in Seattle area. Effectively its a storefront for the public, but its still a good one if you like Brooks shoes and running gear. Outside the headquarters there are a few cool things to look at including a statue of a runner made out of running medals (how cool!) ....when you walk in you are greeted with a Run Happy sign made from greenery. The store itself has a decent assortment of gear. There appeared to be limited edition items here as well. If you are. Before I could even walk in all the way, a woman greeted me by asking did I need help with anything. I told her I was looking for a pair of running shoes and I had never tried Brooks before and would like her recommendations and get fitted for shoes. I have heard a lot about Brooks and I was hoping to get fitted for the perfect shoes. I was in the market for a street and a trail running shoe. The younger woman was not helpful at all. I had to ask her if I protonated when I walked etc. it's like she didn't want to be there. I was trying to decide which color of a shoe I wanted to try and while I was telling her she just walked into the back and decided for me. Needless to say I didn't buy any shoes, and I only tried on one pair. So disappointed bc I was really expecting a knowledgeable sales person as it is right next to the Brooks HQ. read more

If you ever go to skateboard shops there's this phrase, "getting cool guyed." This is when the people working at the shop decide you aren't cool enough to be in there, so they treat you like human garbage. I mention this so when I discuss how the salesperson cool-guyed me, you can have some context. I was stoked to go to Brooks Trailhead. I've lost 60lbs over the last six months and running has played a big part in that. But, I realize that running in flat, vulcanized skate shoes like Vans is not the best and I wanted to some better shoes. Since I have zero experience with running shoes, I though I would go in the store, over-pay for the shoes, but get some expert help in choosing them. I was also excited because Brooks is a local brand and I could walk to their HQ and flaship store. I will briefly say that I ran in the shoes today and they are solid, I think, at least compared to running in Vans, although not aesthetically my cup of tea. However I have never been cool-guyed as hard as I was by the people working in the store, and I have shopped at 510 Skate Shop in Berkeley, CA where they invented cool guying. Poeple before and after I was "helped" were greeted with a smile, asked how much they ran a week, offered to go on some weird motion capture treadmill machine. But the person I spoke to clearly did not think I deserved to wear their shoes. I had to be like "I need a running shoe." To which she helpfully responded "All the shoes we have are on that wall." OK... what's the difference? "There are different types depending on your running style." After a lot of work on my part, she eventually told me about the different styles and brought me a pair of shoes which she literally dropped at a bench no where near me and said "you can try them on over here." I've bought shoes at K-Mart in the 1980s and gotten better service. Everything she did communicated that I was trash, that she was bored. That I should just leave. I've been alive a while and other than a Pontiac salesman in San Leandro CA in like 2003 who didn't know how many cylinders could be in a car engine, she was probably the worst salesperson I've ever dealt with. My wife, who'se generally super laid back, was like "oh wow, she was the worst salesperson ever. You spent $500 and she didn't want to give you a bag." That's right. after picking the $140 shoes I was like "I am going to go look at the clothes" and the salesperson was like ".... oh" Zero customer service, zero effort to help, she could barely even tell me where the changing room was. Frankly in the end I bought a lot of clothes almost out of spite (also I had a fitness allowance from my work that expires at the end of the year). I am sorry I don't look the part of a Brooks runner. I know I'm not fat, since my BMI is healthy these days, but I guess I am too old? Too ugly? IDK. Anyway, this place blows. If you are going to do all the research yourself and still want to buy Brooks shoes, just do it online and save money. I gained nothing by going in except snark. You're not going to learn anything, you're not going to encounter any enthusiam for the products or even for running. It was just an awful experience. Or maybe you will find enthusiastic helpful salespeople if you look the part and fit their image. I clearly didn't. The amount I think people who judge others on their appearance suck is really really a lot, and that's definitely the vibe I got here. (In the interest of fairness, I should also allow here that maybe this person was just having a terrible terrible day, or maybe she's just incredibly bad at her job, but my gut says... she sucks.) As I said, the shoes seem better than Vans for running, so I won't be taking them back, but I won't darken their doorstep again. I get it and I don't go where I'm not wanted. I wanted to shop local, but I guess Portland is fairly local too, so whatever. If I want someone to be mean to me when I'm shopping and trying to give them hundreds of dollars, I'll take another trip to Berkeley and get cool guyed by actual cool guys at 510. read more

I bought my first pair of Brooks at a running store in the Midwest and have been a fan ever since. I've purchased several pairs since then, and I figured I would check out this flagship store for my next pair, mistakenly assuming that I would receive the same level of service (or better?) than I did at the family-owned, Midwest running store. 4 employees on the floor, one helped me. The employee did seem to know some of the basics about the various shoes-- but did not seem knowledgeable or interested enough to help me find the right fit/size/etc. for my needs. The employee was very young, so maybe they weren't very experienced? I don't want to trash the employee who bothered to help me, because the other employees didn't even look in my direction when I entered. It was lackluster. Maybe if you come in and look like a typical lean-bodied, road runner you will get better service? I just felt like my middle age, could drop a few pounds, self was not treated like a serious customer. Will probably continue to wear Brooks, but will purchase at a running store or online next time. If you like Brooks shoes, you will love this store. I had always gotten Brooks shoes at fleet feet, because it just fit me the best and I could run 10+ miles without any problems due to a bad shoe. This store is the best Brooks shoe store. Well actually, it is the only Brooks store in North America, because the headquarters is here in Seattle (learned this in the store.) Brooks shoes are everywhere but they are not known to have just their own shoe store, so I thought it was pretty cool to see a store of ALL brooks and only brooks. Staff here is super helpful, they are trained to tell by the way you walk whether you need a support shoe or a neutral shoe. ALWAY ALWAYS ALWAYS better to try shoes on in person in store than online. I randomly bought a brooks shoe online because it was on sale on amazon but this was a complete waste of money because I learned it was a support shoe and did completely not fit my foot right, my idiot self didn't decide to wear them until past the return date, o well. Return policy is 90 days refund or exchange, that's better than most other running shoe stores. Fleet feet is only 60 days return policy. Shoes are kinda pricy like $130 average for a good pair of running shoes. But honestly I still have some Brooks running shoes from college (8 years ago, yes I'm old now) and I can still run long distance in them and I have done quite a few half marathons in them over 8 years. The only reason I'm getting new shoes is because I'm human and we're trained to like "new." haha true though read more

I came here to purchase some brooks running shoes, and I was greeted at the door. The store wasn't busy at all. I told the employee, his name is Dave specifically what I wanted, and he said he didn't have them but I spotted them on the wall. I walked over to them and requested a pair of 9's. He did size my feet up but he was soo bossy! He said on three separate occasions within one minute, "stand up. Can you stand up. Stand up." He's requesting me to balance on one foot and place my loose foot in the measuring device. Instead of me balancing, it just makes sense to sit down, place my foot in, and then stand up. It's less effort. I was annoyed, and then he some how associates me wearing flip flops as more comfortable because I have wide feet. It was a nice day out.. that's why I'm wearing flip flops. Anyway, I said I wanted the shoes, but I want to shop around for a shirt. He starts hovering over me and this overall entire experience, I just felt extremely rushed. Today I returned to Brooks to get a pair of shoes. I had bought a pair 2 years ago that I loved and wanted to replace them. I had the pleasure of meeting Kelsey who was a pleasure to shop with. She pulled up my info with my phone number and was able to lead me to this years model and grab the same size I got previously right away. I asked about some other shoes and she was able to quickly help me figure out what was right for my foot type. They also had some St. Patrick's day shoes that where limited edition she was more than happy to grab a couple of pairs from the back for me to try one. Giving suggestions on what may be the best fit. The enthusiasm and joy that Kelsey brought to the experience made shoe shopping a delight. I liked a lot the experience of going into the store. They helped me with a running and mechanics test. This threw some results regarding my feet/knees' movement. With it they recommended some shoe pairs. I had to add some info as instep and running styles. I wish they could have measured my feet too as when you are buying skis ;) But despite this, we were able to find the right size going one size up in one that came a little narrower than the rest. The staff was very helpful and patient at all times. Some of them have more knowledge comparing brands. Probably that would be a plus for all the team :) I wish also they could have more trail and goretex variety. It was easy finding parking and buying on a week day. read more

Very friendly staff that genuinely want to help you find the right shoe. I came in for a "run signature" assessment where they check how your run in order to help you find the right shoe. After filling out some quick info and getting fitted with a few sensor, I was on the tread mill doing 5 squats and then a short 1 minute run. The computer then graphed my knee and foot movement during a squat vs. run to indicate which type of shoe I needed - in my case a structured shoe. I then found the right shoe, the adrenaline ASR with water repellent coating for the wet Seattle weather. Overall great experience. read more

Why is it that every running shoe store in Seattle hires lazy unhelpful people? I've had this issue with road runner, and now brooks. Every time I've gone into this store, the workers are all standing behind the desks talking to each other and not helping anyone. They won't even greet you at the door. I've noticed they treat all customers this way because I one of the customers last time told me she had been standing by the shoe wall for 10 minutes without being helped. I finally pulled aside one of the workers to go get a pair of shoes from the back for me to try on. She never came back and checked on me to see how I was doing. Luckily, I've had the same type before so they worked for me. At the register I asked how this years shoe is different from last seasons, and she didn't even know... Cmon brooks, please hire people that are friendly and actually know jack about your products. read more

This store is convenient to where I live so I pop in from time to time as a Brooks wearer. My positive feedback is about the staff who are as friendly and knowledgeable as you would expect from 1) running enthusiasts and 2) employees in a store located in the building of the corporate headquarters. If you need help selecting and testing a running shoe, this is a great place to start. My critical feedback is mainly around the lost opportunity of a Brooks "flagship" store (I'm not sure if they have any other retail locations now but this was the first and only when it opened). Specifically, the selection is relatively limited. I'd want them to have a much better representation of at least their current season selection (I've worn colorways of current models that the sales people seemed to not even be aware of and I'm not some Brooks freak). The store isn't huge so they don't carry everything that is available online, but oddly, I often find that they have old (prior season or earlier) apparel and accessories here taking up space--but not marked down. Which brings me to one specific gripe: they will match prices from their site on the exact item if you point them out but they don't seem to proactively mark things down so there are usually pricing disparities between the store and the site if one checks. It's just annoying to have to ask when they relatively limited selection that wouldn't be hard to track. I assume it's an intentional merchandising strategy but still annoying. read more

Since I'm a big-time Brooks fanboy, I was super excited to hear about Brooks opening a flagship store. I was even more excited to get the chance to finally visit the Brooks Trailhead this past spring. I was hoping this would be on par with the Nike Town/Store/whatever they call it now these days experience, but so much better, since it's Brooks. Unfortunately, it was a little too much like Nike, and in the worst way possible. Obviously, Brooks Trailhead only stocked their newest and latest gear. No surprises there -- just like Nike. But unfortunately (also like Nike), they didn't have much in the way of a clothing selection. Considering all of the cool apparel Brooks has out, I was surprised to see so little of it in store. I was further disappointed to see how much they were charging for it. I was even more disappointed to see how few sizes they had in stock. Oh well. At least the people were nice. If you're a Brooks fanboy looking to save money, I'd strongly suggest heading up to Bothell instead and checking out the outlet. The Trailhead is for all new gear, which also means full-price gear. That said, I loved the neighborhood it's in, and that it functions as a community hub in a place that's clearly all about the outdoor sports is awesome. Bonus star just for that. read more

Brad was our salesperson and he kindly offered to do a gait assessment, took the time to answer all my questions, and suggested that I try running on the in-store treadmill to get a feel for the shoes. Despite being the flagship store of Brooks, I can not recommend this store for expert fitting for runners. Go to West Seattle Runner or Super Jock n Jill if you want expert advice. I visited brooks to get a new pair of running shoes, as I was starting a half marathon training program. I was hoping to have an expert guide me through the selection process by taking a look at my previous shoes, how I walk, how I run, etc.. I explained a few things about my history with running (I've never been a serious runner, I tend to experience heel and plantar pain, I overpronate, etc.). Again, I was expecting some expert advice and analysis, but instead the sales person pointed out a few shoes, brought them out, and told me to go running in them. At no point did he measure my foot look at my foot, watch me run, explain some of the considerations on fit--nothing. I tried on a pair that felt ok, and ended up buying the same model in a different color. For whatever reason that other color was way too tight. I never ran in them, knowing they would kill my feet. I plan to return the shoes. I did end up visiting West Seattle Runner and the experience was 1000 times better than Brooks. The sales person took a loot at my old shoes, measured my foot, made note of my high instep, etc. We cycled through about 5 pairs of shoes before finding the right shoe. She watched me run in them, made note of how the shoes laced and material fit across my feet, and really educated me on running footwear, inspiring confidence in my eventual purpose. And guess what? I bought a pair of brooks. read more

Today, Brooks made me a customer for LIFE! I went into the store today, having just started running in earnest about a month ago with an old pair of Brooks I bought on sale somewhere else years ago. I'd been experiencing some pain while running and wanted to know if it was my shoes or my inexperience or my gait or what. Travis, the super helpful and friendly salesperson, talked me through what was going on and had me run on a treadmill for some high-tech gait analysis, where they used a camera and some reflective devices to analyze my gait. Travis then talked me through my options and what I wanted and we both came to the conclusion that I should keep my old shoes for a while and see how they hold up after I gain more strength and endurance. Can you imagine going into a store, having the associate spend time with you getting to know your unique needs, and then helping you to buy nothing? Amazing service. I became a fan of Brooks when I bought some Glycerin 12s a few years ago... hands down the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I stopped in today and bought some Adrenaline GTS 18s. I was helped by a gentleman who asked me if I had any questions, and several other guys helped other runners with their questions / gave their opinions of shoe fit, etc. while I was there. The employees here seemed knowledgeable and my overall experience was painless. The store itself isn't huge, but it's well laid out; it's in a nice, modern building very close to Green Lake too. I'm usually skeptical of any shoes that aren't flip flops but after putting on the Brooks Chariots I realized I had found a new favorite shoe! Their comfort and color options are endless. The trailhead store is beautiful and artsy, pretty fun to see all the recycled materials they use to decorate. My foot doctor had given me specific instructions to buy shoes with maximum support. Within minutes these guys had me fitted and heading out the door with a size 11, BEAST mode running/ walking shoe, and an 11.5 ADRENALINE ASR 13 hiking shoe.....
