This is a hole in the wall that has awesome wings. The wings are small and crispy, but they are perfect. My favourite is the honey gold flavor. My daughter likes teriyaki. Get bacon and cheese on your fries and ranch for dipping. I usually have the medium special with sweet tea. Tea is always good. The service here is excellent. They are always friendly and the food comes out really fast. This place is packed during the dinner hour. I came here for lunch once right when it opened and it filled up quickly. We went there for lunch with a group of my work buds - they all acted like they were the best wings on the planet, to me they were just ok. AMAZING BUFFALO WINGS!!! Some of the reviews are very misleading, I feel. This restaurant serves authentic Buffalo Wings, the way they are meant to be cooked! I grew up just outside of Buffalo, New York. The wings are SUPPOSED to be smaller and cooked to a good crisp. Real Buffalo wings are NOT huge wings that are slimy and dripping in sauce. That is left for the chain restaurants that have no clue about the real thing. Visiting Madison, AL for a work training, so I turned to Yelp to find a good hangout restaurant with a sports bar feel. A bit disappointed. There are a couple of small TVs and the outdoor seating is a couple of cheap patio sets in front of the main store entrance. The wings were cooked well, but skimpy on the meat and under sauced. Flavor was fine, but I was looking for a little more robust chicken than the chicklet wings we were served. Our server was polite, but we did seem to wait a bit long for our food (not her fault I'm sure). The burger had good flavor and was cooked well (as advertised), but a couple of times I bit into what seemed like small bone fragments, not just charred pieces of meat. The last straw came when I asked for a to go cup for my soda, and I was told there was a 75¢ charge for this. After my party spent $45 there, I thought I could take a Dr. Pepper with me, but I guess not. We are not planning to return there this week while we are in town. read more

We were visiting from out of town and came with friends who are regulars. I loved the family-feel and how the wait staff seemed to know everyone. After hearing the hype about "best wings" I had to come here and see what all it was about. The parking for one is not the best around lunchtime. I went around 1 PM, the lunch crowd had just died down and when I walked in I was looking to see if you seat yourself or if you wait at a host stand in which I never did find. Finally someone who worked there asked me if I had a pickup order, once I said no and wanted a menu and wanted to order take out she handed me what looked like some sort of menu you would find on the Fallout games. I knew they closed at 2 and re-open at 5, which is weird and inconvenient, but I didn't realize they tried to run customers off if they came in the last hour they were open. One employee wasted about 2 minutes asking if the kitchen was closed, only to return to say that they were accepting to go orders only. I traveled from South Huntsville to try this place, so I decided to make my order to go and eat outside. Halfway through my meal, I ran out of drink because their to go cups are smaller than practical. I got the medium wing combo, jerk flavored (dry). If my mouth wasn't dry from the lack of drink, I probably would have enjoyed this. Now I have to buy another drink somewhere else and throw away the rest of my food. WINGS FLAVORS- This is probably what most people care about so here you go. Im only giving you the different hot flavors because if your not getting one of those then whats the point. MILD- Literally almost naked chicken wings. no heat at all. kinda lacking in flavor. HOT-This will be most peoples choice. Not as hot as most hot level wings. The flavor is the best, and has a kick of heat at the end. This flavor will not over heat your mouth and force you to take a break. EXTRA HOT- Don't be intimidated by the name. This is about the average heat for hot wings. These wings are identified by a small piece of white onion on top of one of the wings. This is so they don't get mixed up with hot flavored wings. I get these wings when i'm craving a little extra heat. It sacrifices a little bit of flavor but if you like your wings legitimately hot these are for you. If your too afraid to sacrifice your lunch on wings that are too hot for you, you can always mix your wing flavors with any combination that you want. OTHER FLAVORS- Assortment of the average non buffalo wing lover flavors. There are around 4 of these and honestly i don't know them. Don't waste your time First things first. The wings themselves are the best i have ever had. If this review was purely on the wings it would be a six for emphases. I have gotten the the burger and ribs before and all I could think the whole time was whats the point. Its not that there other food isn't good. Its that there wings are so good that they haunt you while you eat that burger. The aesthetics of crickets are...well its kind of a hole in the wall. But you almost cant tell because its always packed with people getting their wing fix on. They serve a limited amount of beer and wine as well. They cook their wings at extremely high temperatures, which allows the wings to get a good crispy finish on the outside while maintaining the tender juicy meat inside. The sauce is very similar to Frank's hot sauce, and is a perfect compliment to the crispy-fried wings. I've tried Wings all around the state, and Crickets has everyone beat hands-down. Fast service and good food make for a great combo! If you're going during rush hours though, be prepared to wait. Crickets "hole-in-the-wall" location is what really makes it special.
